"Through the study of evolution, it becomes clear that the environment we choose determines our diet, which alters our design and prospects for future survival. Humans now have the ability to manipulate the environment in ways never before possible, and we can choose exactly what we eat. Will we choose to nourish ourselves in a way that does not plunder the resources on earth? Or will we continue to pollute, overpopulate and plunder the earth? If we choose the latter option the earth and those species best adapted to the changes will continue to exist, but humanity may not. If we opt for the former choice, what a wonderful world this could be. Good planets are, after all, hard to find!" LOVE this caption of the book I'm currently reading for school called "new optimum nutrition bible" from P. Holford. no Hokuspokus it is science based & by far the best nutrition book I've read (so far) I am learning so much and I hope to be able to soon share everything i am learning here at #ihn so grateful to be on this journey :) P.s Holford doesn't say that you have to go vegan but he explains why it could be good for you to eat plantbased and that it would be good to at least reduce animal food sources and/but if you still choose to eat animal products you should defintively buy them organic (no aded growth hormones, chemicals, pesticides, GMfeed, antibiotics) at least if you want to live healthily and not develop any diseases by consuming them. From what I have heard some people don't really care about their health and what they're eating, I don't really get that, I mean sure we all just want to enjoy our lives and live it happy- and healthily, but don't you see that there are consequences for the (food)choices you make everyday? And even if you say you don't care because you don't want to live "forever" anyways, don't you want to spend those years you have on earth healthy and happy knowing that your existence didn't harm the environment and world you bring your children into? I do and that's why I encourage everyone to think wisely while food shopping. Food can be medicine, if you care about yourself buy organic and local whenever possible if you don't care ..->comments
