(Very, very mild spoilers for Marvel Tokon!)

Started playing Marvel TOKON today, and the whole 'Knights of Doom' story is so much fun. I got a laugh out of the start, where Doom notices one of his servants singing off-key and actually tries to encourage him - in the most Dr. Doom way possible! (Also the story really doesn't shy away from how bad Norman and Cletus are. I found myself feeling pretty bad for Magneto through the whole campaign, because you can tell Mags regrets having to associate with them.)

Marvel TOKON is out this Thursday!!! So I had to do some art before then! (I based this off a poster I remember for Tekken 2, which was really beautiful.)

I just finished the classic vampire story Carmilla and it's so much fun! There is some genuinely spooky imagery in there, like Carmilla floating in a coffin of blood, or how when she feeds on someone the story sort of describes her as looking like a gigantic black cat, which is a very different visual image from usual vampire fare! But I found myself laughing at a lot of it too, in ways I'm not sure the author intended, but which made me enjoy the story more? Like when they see a funeral and Carmilla starts complaining about the hymns, but in a really mundane and sarcastic way. Or when they meet that traveling flim-flam man and he comments on Carmilla's sharp teeth and she gets all huffy and offended!

The most enjoyable thing was how, whenever Carmilla would do anything overtly monstrous, she would have to come up with excuses on the fly because she was in a house full of humans, and yet it KEPT WORKING. 'Oh you had a dream about me sucking your blood? That's so crazy, I had the SAME dream! We're so in sync! Oh, I somehow escaped my room despite the door being locked from the inside? I'm just sleepwalking!'

As I read it I ended up laughing a lot that all the humans were buying her increasingly outlandish excuses, and then we learn that she's been doing this to so many other people, and her whole disguise is just a clumsy anagram of her name! It's just a really fun story!

Been playing some Silksong and wanted to draw one of the creepiest characters in the game: Greyroot! Something very eerie about a monster pretending to be normal and approachable - but how the performance is still really...off.

ME: Man, there's so much blood in this game. I hope they're still able to make Logan sympathetic and it's not just -

GAME: Shows the villains hassling a bunch of poor mutant kids and calling them names.

ME: Okay, Wolive. Slice and dice!

I finally watched Lisa Frankenstein on Netflix, and wow, what a great movie! Honestly, I wasn't prepared for how emotional it would make me. But I almost teared up at the piano scene. And just how the bond between the sisters was so genuine and not a typical 'wicked step-sister' dynamic, they actually cared about each other, which gave the finale a more tragic feel. Really had a blast with it! (And the music choices were really cool too!)

Man, I have not done any art of The Legend of Korra for YEARS. My art has changed so much! I should draw stuff for TLOK more often, because I love that show. Korra's such a great character! And a lot of fun to draw!

Just started playing the new LEGO Batman game and it goes without saying that it's absolutely wonderful! But I wasn't expecting the prologue of all things to make me so emotional, but it was genuinely quite sad/sweet to have the start of the game with Bruce as a kid just running around the manor and being happy. I love how the game both takes the characters seriously, but also is just so fun and not afraid to have a light tone.

As Harvey Dent will apparently be in The Batman Part II - I really hope they lean into something different with him. And go more down The Long Halloween's route where even before his change, he had a propensity for corruption in service of his ideals. I could never get on with the more zany versions of him - because to me he works so much better as a tragic example of the nature of justice, and its twin faces of moderation and utter fanaticism. It shouldn't be a case of 'this guy's suddenly evil', but rather a tragedy of how otherwise good people put all their eggs in one basket and trusted someone who was fundamentally broken and morally compromised.

And, of course, being a politician, when Harvey does fully go past the point of no return, it's going to be a million times harder to drag him back when a portion of the city will validate his terrible choices and cheer on his ever-worsening extremes. Harvey tries to compensate for his past trauma by seeking the adoration of the masses. The masses use Harvey to enact their own revenge fantasies and need for quick fix solutions. It's a symbiotic relationship which ultimately harms everyone involved! You don't even need him to be Two-Face in the film, when he was already on that path long before.

It's April 30th! Which means it's the time when I always try to do some MGS art! Here is Raiden and Rose. They are such a cute couple, I love their relationship in MGS2 - and the ending still makes me teary-eyed because of how beautiful it is.

I just had to do some Clayface art after that trailer! I am so excited to see DC just outright doing a crazy body horror movie with this character, who in so many of his versions has been one of Bruce's most horror-themed enemies, especially with the angle that he's an actor!

Not the biggest anime/manga guy, but I DO quite enjoy Hellsing! So here's some art of Seras! (I kind of gave her a little bit of a silly facial expression, because she's a fun character and has a lot of cute moments where she doesn't take herself ultra seriously!)
