She took the cigarette between her fingers and took another puff. She slowly stood back up feeling a breeze tickling her legs. âYour carâs busted too? That fuckin sucks. How long until they get fixed?â She asked. Another question hung on her lips, she was too scared to ask. No one knew she was homeless except for her boss. It bothered her a bit, not having access to basic necessities but sheâd grown complacent with it. Victoria didnât want to inconvenience Cam in anyway but there was no one else she could turn to. She pushed that thought to the back of her head when the back door creaked open. One of the bouncers stuck their head out. âLuna your breaks over.â He stated.Â
nodding, camden sadly spoke, âyah, brakes busted. just a couple days or something, not too bad jus putting a big hole in my pocketbook.â he said with a shrug, reaching down to give duke another scratch. outside in the chilling night air, camden found a sense of peace. maybe it was his own history in the sex industry, but he was never bothered or judged on victoriaâs occupation. he did a similar thing too, being a cam boy, a career heâd possibly have to resort back to if things continuing being as tight as they were. hearing the bouncer call her back in, camden offered a small smile, âyou think theyâll let bruce in? heâs all bark no bite... heâll keep his paws off too.âÂ
tree leaves glistened as the sun shine through them, the rays highlighting eleanorâs deepened brown eyes when they reached the occupied wooden table in the park. she had crinkles in the corners from the smile she wore - it was such benevolence, an attitude which she permanently found herself in. the girl delicately placed the small pile of books in front of the person sitting across from her, âyouâre lucky your local librarian delivers. not everybody gets this luxuryâ she laughed, a few of her own books poking out from the satchel lying across the table top, âhmm?â she hummed as she caught eyes peering at the literature, âoh, i never go anywhere without my bible and first edition jane austen. my life in two.âÂ
it wasnât like camden to rely on any one, much less ask someone for a favor. but today was tank cleaning day, which always left him exhausted and with virtually no time. he thanked eleanor quietly, as she slid over his marine biology textbook. the aquarium was gaining a new breed of shark to which camden had no prior knowledge of, and if he wanted this raise, heâd need to brush up on how to take care of the little guys. cam couldnât help but notice the books which tumbled out, trying his best not to groan at her choices. âah. put in a good word for me then, with the man upstairs.â camden joked, leaning back and flipping to the shark section in his book.Â
Text đ Bailey + Camden
BAILEY: so, just to confirm, now would be a bad time to start game of thrones?
CAMDEN: nah it's better that way
CAMDEN: now you can skip a bunch of stuff in the middle and just watch the ending and the beginning and done. easy stuff
âHonestly so glad you werenât busy, and agreed to lunch. Iâve been in this place where all I want to do is watch the Originals and do nothing.â Deanna chuckled softly, looking down at her plate. Things had been weird since having to move again. She was just glad to get out of her apartment for something other than work.Â
camden gave a shrug of his shoulders as he cronched on his salad, primarily first focused on food then conversation. with all the extra work camden had been trying to do to make ends meet with his unexpected car payements, âi get that.â he commented, taking a swig of his drink. âespecially when im in a new place, i want nothing more than to feel sorry for myself for being alone.âÂ

âSure.â She handed him her cigarette and bent down carefully so she wouldnât flash anyone, her hands quickly petting the medium sized dog. For the first time in weeks a genuine smile crept up on her face as she stole a few moments with Bruce. It reawakened her ache for her dog Jagger whom she had to leave behind with her ex. âHow you been Cam?â She asked looking up at him.
happily taking in the nicotine, camden smiled back at victoria before giving it back. he always liked victoria, they had never truly âhung outâ but they were each kind and camden appreciated the vibe that the blue haired girl gave off. it was a nice, different, kind of feeling... something out of the ordinary. watching the girl happily love on his small puppo, he laughed, âgood.. just learned that my brakes are out, so thatâs shit.â camden commented, âjust a lot of work. what bout you miss ramona flowers?âÂ

âI canât keep up! Believe it or not, Iâve never been quite the gym junkie.â Diana couldnât help but study him as she sat down at the edge of the bench, his non expressive reaction matching her annoyed looking eyes. âWeâve been going for a while now how is it possible we arenât done with this workout yet? Iâm sure we have better things to do than die together.â A deep undertone of annoyance filled each of her words, but whether it is annoyance towards him or herself for not being able to keep up, it wouldnât change much.Â
camden couldnât help but laugh slightly at diana. she was a tiny girl and youâd assume she worked out, but it was very evident to everyone in the gym that she was struggling just a tad. camden knew it too but it was always more fun to rile diana up, too easy a task. âyouâre the one who wanted me to help you.â cam said with a smirk, leaning against one of the machines looking at diana with pity. âcome on then, go change.â he instructed, âletâs go get ice cream and ruin the work we just did.âÂ

âi donât know about a bike but i do know that the buses run through all the major parts of town,â melissa answered, wiping her hands off on the front of her coveralls as she made her way around to the other side of the car to look at the rear axels. she suspected that something ( dirt, perhaps ) had gotten lodged beneath camdenâs brake caliper during his impromptu trip off road, but there was no way of knowing for sure until she inspected the area further. âthereâs always uber and lyft,â she added as an afterthought. âbut you definitely canât drive this baby until your breaks are fixed.â
camden shrugged his shoulders at melissaâs options. he had never been a big fan of the whole ride service option, but it looked like heâd have to deal, especially since that might be his only choice. âsounds fair.â he said with a sigh, pausing, âbut how much is it gunna be? whatâs my damage?â camden asked glumly. that was always his problem, money went in and out as fast as it came in. if he needed to get these brakes fixed asap heâd have to move some money around and possibly look in other directions for extra cash.Â

eliza: in search of a new cereal ... it's been a goooood few years w/ special k red berries, but it's time for us to go our separate ways.
eliza: SO, that being said ---- send your favorite blonde your slightly healthy cereal recommendations before i spontaneously combust on this thursday night in aisle nine.
camden: i wouldn't know, i'm more of a frozen waffle kind of guy :/
camden: you could get like rice crispies and strawberries or something, and mix that shit together. similar vibe but kinda different ?
âIf youâre looking for that kind of a good time I suggest you try near the massage place a few blocks away.â Victoria said to the man whoâs car rolled up next to her. She was taking a smoke break before heading back inside. The blue haired girl could feel looks of disgust on either side of her as she took another drag. âYeah I know smoking is bad itâs the only thing keeping me from freezing my tits off at the moment.â She explained. She had on a cheap black coat with a faux fur lined hood she bought from Walmart. She stood in socks on the cold pavement needing a brake from the heels sheâd been wearing since ten in the evening. Underneath her coat she wore black lingerie. Victoria felt her pocket buzz and retrieved her phone unlocking it in the process. A profanity left her mouth as she saw who was calling. Her ex boyfriend. She stuffed it back in her coat and began to go back inside the club.
nighttime walks with bruce, his little corgi mixed dog, were some of the highlights of any evening. camdenâs skin still salty from his shift at the aquarium, feeling it against the cold air before heading home was one of his favorite sensations. that, after nicotine. now, camden had tried to be good, cutting himself off from smoking once he left college, but these new hip juuls only made his problem a bit worse. but there was nothing that beat a physical cigarette. smelling itâs toxic but sweet flavor, camden walked bruce down by the strip club, eyeing a blue haired girl as she took long drags. walking up, camden quickly dismissed the creepy advances of the man in the car that was parked outside the back door, offering the blue haired girl a smile. âhey, i mean, i get it.â he laughed lightly at her joke, vaguely recognizing her as a girl named victoria, âyou mind though if i get a hit of that?â
bridgityngâ:
âCome on, Cam. Itâs just three days! We could literally just fly out tonight and be right back in no time. Whenâs the last time you just up and went on an adventure, anyway?â The girl put her hands together, continuing to beg her friend. She had always deemed herself a workaholic, but the moment she met Camden she knew he was on another level. Bridgit knew it wasnât going to be easy to convince the boy to take off work, and especially to just up and leave his babies. âDonât you need a break? All work and no play makes Cam a dull boy, huh?â
bridgit was right. when was the last time camden had left the city? oh yah, thatâs right. he hadnât since coming to seattle... and he wasnât working this weekend anyways, there really was no harm. pursing his lips still, cam looked the blonde up and down, still debating his answer. bridgit was a fun girl, but did he really want to spend three days, with her? letting out a small sigh, camden answered, âokay, iâm in.â he said before stopping bridgit before she got too excited, âif, if, if, i can get someone to watch my zoo.â camden knew that the last part would be the real challenge, the animals are typically what kept him from being the spontaneous freak he was in high school. the whole reason he got them really. but if he could get a sitter or some kind of watch over them, heâd relive that wild side.Â
âLook, Iâm not saying itâs the best idea, but you canât tell me itâs the worst youâve ever heard either.â The girl said, trying her hardest to convince the person in front of her. âI mean come on, how many people here can honestly say they booked a spontaneous trip across the country for no reason?â If there was one thing Bridgit knew about herself, it was that she was the textbook definition of impulsive. She also knew she needed someone to go along with her on her wild adventures or sheâd get herself into an insurmountable amount of trouble. Bridgit looked over to her friend with pleading eyes. âPlease? Itâs just for the weekend.â
it wasnât that camden wasnât interested, but more or less that he had so many responsibilities right here in seattle. never mind the job, he could easily get away for the weekend, it was the process of seeing if anyone could take care of all the animals. he could ask his roommate, but he was always running in and out, he couldnât trust him to look after his precious babies. cam pursed his lips looking at the blonde, âi donât know...â he knew heâd need a bit more pursuing if cam was going to get on board with this idea, or just the practicality standpointÂ
Letting an exhausted exhale escape her lips, Diana looked up at the person in front of her with an annoyed glare bright in her eyes. âYou know, when we agreed to workout together I didnât expect you to actually try to kill me.â Following an eye roll that couldnât help to be clearly seen by any person around, the short brunette turned around to grab her towel, wiping her face trying to let her breaths slowly even out again. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat. âI thought you said you were going to go hard on me, what was that all about?âÂ
cam looked over at the girl with a monotoned expression, barely raising an eyebrow. looking at the two of them, youâd assume they were doing completely different activities. the short brunette was drenched in sweat while camden barely had any perspiration. âi am.â he said as he grabbed the towel from the girl, dabbing his forehead before giving it back to her. âkeep up shorty.â Â
âto put it bluntly? your car is a piece of shit,â melissa explained as she lowered the latch beneath the hood to let it slam shut. âbut that doesnât mean i canât fix it.â truth be told, it wasnât the first time sheâd seen a vehicle in such poor condition ( and she was certain it wouldnât be the last ) but she still felt bad for the poor bastard who would be stuck footing the bill. even with a good olâ friendly discount, fixing a car was not cheap. âi just need to replace a few parts and itâll be good as new. or.. at least, as good as an old clunker like this can be without being totally rebuilt,â she added, flashing the unlucky owner a sympathetic smile as she patted the top of the car. âi need to order one of the parts, so it should take me a few days until i can get you back out on the road.â
cam frowned, that was just the news he needed. during the memorial day weekend, camden had taken the vehicle a bit off roading onto the beach up north. when leaving the beach, he knew something was up when the wheel began ( slightly ) smoking on the way back, but that was fine. besides all the animal fur on the carpeted seats and the whole possible smoking thing, it was fine. camden was in no place to be doing major changes with his vehicle. âdamn,â camden signed, running a hand through his hair and kicking the front wheel of his hunk of crap. âknow anywhere where i can rent a bike or get one real cheap? âgot work tomorrow.â
