“I don’t come by on purpose, man.“ Lorenz responded, still holding a bag of ice over his eye. “You know, people usually don’t plan to come back when they leave a nurse’s office. Nobody comes and pick a fight with a drunken sailor on purpose.“
Actually, he had to admit he had provoked the guy who gave him that black eye. But hey, Ben didn’t have to know.
“Demy, though? He’s right there.” He said. And with his free hand, he took the third Poke Ball attached to his belt. He dropped it on the floor, and out came his Poochyena.
As the capsule bounced back into Lorenz’s hand, Demy began to look around and wag his little tail. He gave a quick sniff at Bennett’s leg, and pitter-pattered in direction of the Mightyena sitting by his side.
“I guess you’re right, though. I should come here on my own accord, sometimes. Demy really loves to see his mom.“
And of course, Lorenz couldn’t help adding another comment. One more attempt at trying to break the gigantic iceberg between him and Ben couldn’t hurt, right? The guy definitely needed some friends.
"And I really love to see you too.”
“I can’t say that you seem much of a sailor, much less an intimidating one.” Bennett blinked slowly, seemingly unfazed by the fact that the grunt was in his office once more.
"Actually, it just seems like you’re trying not to break your record of being in here at least once a week...” Which was definitely something he should tell his admin -- but lucky for him, the nurse couldn’t be bothered to do it.
Once Demy was released from his Pokeball, the nurse’s Mightyena’s tail thumped against the tiled floor rapidly and her paws pushed down in order to sit up.
“Yeah. It does Althia some good to socialize with Pokemon that aren’t pink from time to time, too.” Not that she disliked his Chansey and Audino; it was simply better for her to be able to be around others.
His next comment earned a slow blink from Bennett, his eyebrows raising soon after. “...Well, I’m sure I would share the sentiment if I didn’t see you so often.”
