Finally got Dahlia moved into her new tank. Her favorite spot is still her floating log, even after a thorough exploration of all the new hiding places among the /real/ driftwood.

(also yes her tank is Blackwater. At least for now. I actually kind of like the look but I'm undecided about if I'll keep it blackwater when the wood stops leaching tannins)

Redid Dahlia's tank with some new plants and slate! I'm hoping she'll find the plants to be a good safe spot... She's already explored them a bit!

A win for bettas: My LFS is going to start encouraging larger homes for Bettas!

@pet-of-subs @betta-help and all of bettablr

Overheard the owner of my store telling the betta tank decorator (we sell pre-deco'd tanks because, well, they sell well) that in the future he wants us to be sending bettas out the door with larger, better homes and that moving forward we need to really encourage that.

Now. I won't say that means the store is going to jump to selling 5 gallon+ tanks for every betta we sell. But we're gonna move away from the small bowl stereotype and that's an /amazing/ start... Especially since bettas are one of the most popular fish for us to sell to new fish keepers.
