Amnesia anon here. I've just watched ep19-20. I read your posts about it all. At the end of ep18 I knew Yu Xi Gu will die but the teaser for the last episodes made me change my mind. It's just so useless to kill the main character for chock value... it doesn't bring ANYTHING to the story or the characters. It's just bad scriptwriting. I wasn't even sad while watching the end, just annoyed (and impressed by Wayne's acting talents). This show started on such a different note and evolved badly.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again...THIS SHOW COULD’VE BEEN LEGENDARY. I’ll always be bitter about them killing Yu Xi Gu. He is my favorite fictional character from a show like this EVER. He deserved so much more. And that doppelganger garbage they pulled on us still makes me mad. However, the terrible ending won’t take away my love for the rest of the show. I will always hold MODC in my heart. I’ve connected with the characters and cast in a way that I never thought was possible, so I’m at least grateful for the things they did right. 

Also, I absolutely agree that Wayne’s performance in the finale was outstanding. The amount of emotion he invested into Xiang Hao Ting's character is a true testament of his talent as an actor. He will go places with his career.
