Rewatched Community for the 4th time and like, man, the gay dean episode always surprises me with how genuinely queer it is. The dean's unwillingness to place labels on his own queerness is such a great move for the character, considering he himself has a couple of sexual awakenings during the show and isn't quite sure of where exactly he stands.

For a show that, at the end of the day, takes very few things seriously, it's very nice to have an episode be so unapologetically queer in a way that doesn't feel preachy or annoying and is perfectly in character for Craig.

Btw every year unless otherwise stated Abed and Shirley are spending December 9th and 10th together. Yes even after she leaves, he goes to see her, and she explains that she was in a hurry to leave and she wished she could've said a proper goodbye. And she's changed and apologised for her past intolerance. That traditional Muslim dish she wouldn't try? She has tried it since and loves it, he brings it every year. They send each other nice messages for every religious event they know is coming up for the other, regardless of if they share it. I live in a fantasy realm, canon cannot hurt me in any way that matters.
