Probably long overdue, but I figured a pinned post with some extra information about me is in order:

I was born and raised and currently live in the Texas Panhandle, aka the little square shaped bit that sticks out of the top of the state. In many ways, yes, it's as bad or worse than you probably imagine, and oddly enough it's really not as bad in some key metrics. Once I can sell my house, I'm hoping to move to Colorado or Oregon.

I've worn various funny hats over my life: currently I'm a journalist M-F and occasionally an audio engineer for a local music venue, but I've also been a television director, actor, singer, model, synth player, and some other things my tired brain is probably forgetting at the moment

I enjoy long walks at high altitudes though alpine environments. I like guns, and going plinking on my friend's parents' land outside of town is an old favorite past time in my friend circle. Occasionally, I enjoy a nice day of trout fishing when I can make it up to Colorado or New Mexico. Recently got into basketball thanks to my bestie 😄 OKC Thunder #1 baby!

There are too many videos games/TV shows/moves/musicians I love to really have anything close to a comprehensive list here. To keep is short, I love RTS/city builder/management games, my favorite musical groups are Genesis, Kyros, Autechre, and Boards of Canada, and I enjoy a broad variety of movies from Inland Empire to Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.

Politically, in short, you might describe me as a tired yet hopeful Communist. ACAB, ALAB, Free Palestine, black and indigenous people deserve reparations, the collapse of the USSR was a tragedy...

Went to Sonic, tried to push the little red button to order. Guy comes outside, walks up to my car window, looks me in the eye and asks me "this stall is broken, can u pls go to the one next to it?"
