Hello! My name is Aseem Rishi, a mid level graphic designer from India. This here is a space for me to document visual examples which I gain inspiration from alongwith other interesting resources such as colour schemes and reverse image search engines.

I haven’t posted in a while, so wanted to get back in with pictures of my desk. I’m currently working on packaging designs mostly. The client is an upmarket food products brand and I am conceptualising labels and boxes for meal kits, cook-in sauces, oil bottles etc.

Money is Material by Mark Wagner- 

"The Object in question is essentially just a peace of paper. Money and currencies don’t actually exist in the real world. They’re just something we’ve made up!"

Mark Wagner makes collages out of dollar bills. He says,

"The Object in question is essentially just a peace of paper. Money and currencies don't actually exist in the real world. They're just something we've made up."  

His art brings up several questions about this paradigm built upon a material made from ink and paper.

Jo Ratcliffe's Zoetrope

Thursday 24 April

London-based illustrator Jo Ratcliffe will be bringing the zoetrope – described as ‘the wheel of the devil’ by shocked audiences in the 19th century – into the modern age with creative partners iMakr and waterMelon collective in a blend of illustration, animation and 3D printing on the first day of the festival.

Andy Martin's Plasticine Rhythm

Monday 28 April

Learn the secrets of stop motion animation, syncing visuals to music, and plasticine modelling in this workshop with Andy Martin of production company Strange Beast. Animations from the day will feed into a collaborative new film called 'Plasticine Rhythm.'

Melvin Galapon's Grid Forms

London-based graphic artist, illustrator and designer Melvin Galapon explores organic form and motion in this collaboration with choreographers Marquez&Zangs, in an interactive game that brings together his interest in grids and patterns as a tool for creation.

Early prototype version of my CV is half the actual size but still gives perspective to further improvement. At this stage I'm wondering if I could be able to engage the viewers by letting them print double side a3 and leave instructions for cutting and folding. Printing a3 double sided could be a hassle in itself!

Today, I'm taking inspiration from Rosie Lee's Ticket Machine Rethink for Icon Magazine. The design is interesting but i don't think it comes a long way from the pre existing design of ticket machines in UK.

I was scanning through the new @Eye Magazine and came across an amusing article about Spanish meat papers collected over the years by Andrei Balius. "Typically covered in graphic images of animals who often relish their tragic end under the butcher's knife."
