Yuu occasionally forgets details about their old world. First it’s small things like favorite snack brands, a classmate’s face, the route home from school. Then one day they realize they can’t remember their own bedroom clearly anymore.
Nobody at NRC fully understands how lonely being magicless is. The first years mentions it rarely but in a casual way, like 'oh yeah we forgot', but Yuu constantly lives with the awareness that if something goes wrong, they can’t protect themselves the same way everyone else can. They're thankful to have friends that protected them during the overblots even tho they felt utterly useless...
Ramshackle is cold because the dorm was abandoned for so long, and sometimes Yuu stays awake listening to the building creak, realizing there’s nobody in this world they truly belong with.
Grim notices when Yuu is homesick before anyone else does. He’ll start fights or act extra annoying on purpose just to distract them from crying.
Yuu keeps souvenirs from every dorm. Not because they’re sentimental, but because they’re terrified that if they ever go home, this world will disappear like a dream.
Some nights Yuu quietly wonders whether their family thinks they disappeared… or died. (I think I saw something about Yuu's original world being paused or something like that in one of the novels but im not too sure so...)
Ace is one of the first people to realize Yuu smiles differently around others versus when they’re alone.
Yuu gets used to being needed only during crises. They become “the reliable prefect,” but secretly start feeling like people only come to Ramshackle when everything is falling apart.
Malleus visiting Ramshackle late at night becomes important because he’s one of the few people who understands isolation. Neither of them says it directly.
After every overblot incident, Yuu becomes more afraid. Not of the overblots themselves, but of losing the people they’ve grown attached to.
There’s a version of Yuu that stops talking about going home because they realize NRC is home now… and that realization scares them more than anything.
Crowley promising “we’ll find a way home soon” starts hurting after a while because Yuu can tell he doesn’t (want to) know.
Yuu sometimes sits in on magic studies they can never use anyway. Not because they expect to learn magic, just because they want to feel included.
The students eventually stop calling Ramshackle “haunted” and start calling it “home,” and Yuu nearly cries the first time they overhear it.
If Yuu ever made it back to their original world, the loneliness would hit in subtle moments. Reaching for their phone to text Ace about something dumb. Hearing thunder and thinking of Diasomnia. Turning around to tell Grim a joke before remembering he isn’t there. And the worst part would be knowing nobody around them could truly understand why they miss a world that technically never existed.

I have been rereading this series like six times in the past three days.
It's so good.
It's a time travel fix-it focusing on Shamrock and Shanks, with appearances by Marco, Ace, Luffy and Law.
Essentially, Shamrock wakes up from the Bad Ending and goes, 'my body is no longer a temple' and 'time to pull a Shanks, via Shanks'.
Featuring rad lines, such as-
"If I drive this through your heart, will that be enough to lure out your captain?" Shamrock to Benn Beckman.
"After all that Roger did to our family, I should think a little revenge would be entirely within my rights. He took my brother. So I took his son. Father will be delighted by his new pet." Shamrock to Shanks.
"You killed him, didn't you?"
"I didn't want to. It wasn't meant to be like this-- he's my brother, he was supposed to come back." Marco's question and Shamrock's reply.
"I saw you dead, you know. But we couldn't take your body, Marco had to carry Shanks." Shamrock to Benn Beckman.
"I don't give a damn if Shanks is happy. I want him alive." Shamrock to Marco.
Total fic/series words is about 25k, 11 fics, all posted within the last two-ish weeks.
10/10 do recommend. Will likely re-read another 6+ times before the end of the week, honestly.

7 - Coffee or tea while you write?
Neither, I don't drink coffee and only rarely go for tea, usually in the dead of winter. My choice of writing beverage is either sweetened peach sparkling water (chilled) or a big glass of water with lemon juice added
26 - Do you ever "prep" your fics with outlines or warmups before you start writing, or do you just dive right in?
Oh I just jump right in with a cannonball splash - maybe technically I sometimes warm-up? If I write a few paragraphs for one thing and then switch to something else before the Muse really wakes up? But it's not necessarily on purpose, usually when I'm in a Mood To Write the words just flow, and if I'm not in the mood then they don't and can't really be forced x'D

1 - Write a scene from [lightning strikes (Calling Demons from the Deep)] in another character's POV
Penguin can still pinpoint the exact moment he knew things were going to turn out okay.
Namely, the moment he and Shachi, kind of but also kinda not intentionally keeping their Observation haki spread around Wolf's house in a watchful bubble, notice the pair of presences approaching.
One's unfamiliar. Curious, but also cautious, too sharp to be a local.
The other's exhausted, and ecstatic, and extremely welcome.
It's a race for the two of them to scramble out of their seats at the kitchen table and get to the back door first, which of course leads to tripping over one another right as they leap across the threshold, and then double crash landings into the snow outside. Worth it, though, because immediately afterward Penguin and Shachi both holler "CAPTAIN!" and the relief that pours off of Law is a spring thaw breaking through the winter ice.
They get back to their feet right about the time their captain comes into view- or rather, the guy carrying their captain does. Man, Penguin forgot how much of a pipsqueak Law used to be, and he looks even tinier curled up in the arms of this super tall guy.
...super tall.
Big coat of black feathers.
Obvious heart theme going on with his clothing.
"Holy shit," Penguin breathes out, just as Shachi blurts "Dude! You kept your Cora-san alive?!"
Law's exasperated sigh is just one more confirmation things are gonna be just fine, and that maybe time travel isn't such a big deal after all.
The reason Qifrey is so awesome and relatable is because he wants to live. Man in his twenties being ominous as hell and breaking laws left and right and messing with forces beyond comprehension and lying to the cops and doing horrible things to the people who love him most and constantly destroying his own mental health and you peel back the layers and the motivation is "God I want to grow old someday."
God and the way in which he transforms from ‘I have to live because Olly wants me to live’ to ‘I want to live’ is so incredibly important to me. He was ready to give up, to let the Silverwood take him but Olly stops him. Olruggio traps him in a hellish pact because he wants his friend to live and he knows his friend wants to as well, Qifrey just has to come to that realisation.
i wish there was a way to say "you're right, but this is really ineffective and even counterproductive messaging to anyone who doesn't already agree with you" without sounding like an asshole

I'm not sure why a very loud group in this fandom thinks the fucking military is its own independent group separate from the government. The entire point of a formal military is to be armed forces for the governmental body which creates it!
