What annoyed me a lot when Antheus got a bit of attention on Tumblr was that, to a one, the "love triangle" of Deiphobos-Antheus-Paris was invariably turned into Paris being the villain who destroyed Deiphobos' (and Antheus') happy little love life and relationship~. Despite that the single source we have on this give on indication at all on the flavour of what's going on, and frankly, since Paris is the accidental killer, that aligns him more in the position of Apollo with Hyacinthus or Hermes with Crocus... which would make him the primary intended love interest for Antheus.
I find it a bit odd that they’ve cast Paris as the villain, because the references to the myth I’ve come across are usually scarce, and he’s more often referred to as ‘Paris’s lover’ rather than ‘Deiphobus’s lover’.
Of course, the drama of the love triangle between the newly arrived prince, the prince who’s always been there, and the son of an advisor is great for drama (and I remember leaving my design for Antaeus somewhere).
