I thought that this lady next to Aphrodite was Peitho but according to the description from the British museum this is HERA!

Description: Glass paste cameo with Aphrodite seated with Adonis on her lap, in a cart driven by Eros and drawn by Psyche, Hermes and Pan. Another Psyche is seated behind Aphrodite playing the pan-pipes and another Eros flies above holding drapery. In the exergue are flowers (see BM Cat. Gem 3856). Pen and ink and graphite with grey wash.

✨My version of the “Abduction of Helen”, which is my contribution to @singomusezine, last volume coming out in July, as you know, full of great fellow artists drawing Greek Mythology awesomeness.

I chose this episode from The Iliad, Book III as the theme of the zine this year is about The Trojan War and all related.

-Wounded Venus and Adonis

Description: Venus is seated on a rock, her legs crossed. She is holding out her wounded left foot, from which blood is dripping, to Adonis who, kneeling before her, takes it in his left hand, while in his right he holds the bloodied cloth he used to cleanse the wound.

😭 I love this, they are so cute. Aphrodite going out on a hunt with Adonis and him taking care of her ✨🥺
