Pinocchio: What’s the biggest lie you’ve told that no one knows about?

I don’t know if it really counts - it’s not that big a lie, when you get down to it - but Poppy got to pestering me a little while back about my HugTime bracelet. Where it had gone, where I’d left it, all that stuff, so I just told her I still have it in a box in the bunker, and I just can’t be bothered to go digging it out again yet. 

I threw it away a long time ago. I don’t know where it is anymore. Somewhere really deep in the forest, I have no idea where. It was the last thing I ever had that came from my family, and I was so mad, I just ditched it like it was nothing. I have no idea where it’s gone.

Dumbo: Have you ever been to a circus or fair?

No, but Poppy and Guy are on my case. There’s the annual Fun Fair this summer, and apparently it’s some sort of crime that I haven’t ever gone.

Sleeping Beauty: What’s the last dream you remember having?

I dreamed I got lost in the woods with Cooper, and he started naming all the trees. Every. Single. One.

If I had to make a guess, the point is that we should strive to live in harmony, with each other and the world. Stop fighting each other over stupid things, and stop trying to lay claim to the earth, because it’s not yours. Just respect the life around you, even if that life doesn’t look or walk or talk like you.

Well, yeah, I’ve seen plenty of animals that can feel just as much as I can, or Poppy can, or--actually, Poppy’s not such a good example to use. There’s at least fifteen feelings on her spectrum that’s not on anyone else’s.

No. I grew up with monsters right outside my door, massacring everyone I knew. Imagination can’t really keep up with that.

Obligatory I don’t have any siblings, obviously, and I don’t know that my answer really even matters. I mean, let’s be realistic. I don’t have a family anymore. I’m never going to have a family again. That’s just how it is.

It takes a sloth a month to digest a meal, a lemon actually has more natural sugar than a strawberry, and squids’ tentacles are actually covered in something closer to taste buds than touch receptors. I don’t know where I picked any of this up, so please don’t ask.

I don’t know. I usually just leave the medicines and herbs and stick it out. I used some white willow for a fever once, when I was twelve or thirteen, mainly because my temperature just wouldn’t come down. And I dipped into the supply of mullein when I was seventeen, but that’s a long story. There’s faulty traps and frothing-at-the-mouth wild animals and a lot of blood involved, I don’t want to get into it.

i don't mean to be insulting, buy what exactly do you expect to come out of your relationship w/poppy? do you really want anything romantic or just a friendship? i really don't want to pry you don't have to tell me if you don't want to but i think it's important for you to think about. is this something you want? and if it is, i think you should go for it :))

It’s really not any of your fucking business, but let’s get something straight, I don’t “expect” anything to “come out” of my friendship with Poppy. I don’t expect anything from her. I know it’s hard to believe, because it’s me, and why would I ever want to be friends with anyone, but I don’t have some kind of ulterior motive going here. I’m not going into this for any sort of secret reason. I’m not looking to take anything from her, I’m not looking for any kind of benefit, I just want to be her friend. 

Even if I did want something.......romantic from Poppy, which I absolutely don’t, I wouldn’t do that to her, I wouldn’t ask her for that. I wouldn’t ask her for something she can’t give to me. That’s not fair to her.

I like Poppy for how passionate she gets about things. Like her friends, and her scrapbooks, and her parties. And I like her for how she keeps going even when it’d be a hell of a lot easier not to, and I like her for how she never gives up on people, even when they don’t make it easy on her, and I like her for how she’s never scared of anything, even when she really, really should be, and I like her for how she’s so nice, even to people who don’t deserve it, and I like her for her dedication and her loyalty to the village, and I like her for much she cares about everyone, and everything, I like her for how smart she is and how she can think on her feet like that, and I even like her for her energy, even when it’s exhausting.
