I drew Eragon Shadeslayer the way I imagine him at the end of the books <3
I'm gonna do Murtagh next :3
This movie scared me as a child, but as an adult it showed me a handsome man 🤭
I want to write a Mummy 1999 crossover fic with Labyrinth. Starring Alex O'Connell, 16 years old, with a new baby sister, Cleo. After the events of The Mummy Returns, Alex refused to go back to Egypt and instead chose to remain in London with his uncle Jonathan and later his baby sister. After a while he grows resentful of his parents for always going to Egypt or some other place on an archeological dig. He starts to take it out on his uncle and sister, which all comes to a head when he's stuck alone with Cleo one night.
Alex's labyrinth would be different from Sarah's, likely more inspired by Ancient Egypt, with crumbling ruins and ancient frescos and oasises within the maze. And the figures he'd see within the labyrinth would also mirror his experiences in The Mummy Returns, with Lock-Nah and Imhotep and Meela. The goblins might be closer to the pygmy things seen in the oasis or even like monsters in Egyptian mythology. Part of his journey through the labyrinth would be dealing with all of his repressed feelings from his earlier adventure, especially if he decided he never wanted to go back to Egypt afterwards.
I think the labyrinth would represent the underworld, everyone that Alex sees is someone who had already died, and the "goblin king" is Anubis, with the face of Lock-Nah. Layers. Like an onion. If the labyrinth is the underworld and the goblin king is Anubis, then the goblins would be the souls who failed the test of scales, turned ugly and grotesque as they stay within the underworld/labyrinth. The labyrinth would be filled with trials and tribulations specifically designed to test Alex's character and strength of desire to retrieve Cleo from Anubis.
But also. Scorpions. Lots of scorpions.
And eels.
And crocodiles.
I think he'd see Beni as the only clue that this is actually happening, he's never seen Beni because he died before Alex was born, so for him to be there would be proof it's not all in his head. Though it might fuck him up to see Ardeth Bay, though that could be Horus in disguise.... actually if Alex finds Horus(Ardeth's falcon in the second movie) that could be the actual Horus the god. And if Horus is helping Alex against Anubis..... well....
Alex would likely be 16 by 1941... smack dab in the middle of the London blitz.... ouch.... the blitz would likely be a big motivation for why Evy and Rick want to go back to Egypt with the rest of the family. But Alex doesn't want to go, at least not to Egypt.
Alex would be severely traumatized after the events of Ahm Shere, he got chased by mummies, kidnapped by a cult, watched a bunch of people die in front of him, watched his mom die, and watched his dad almost die. Kid might not really get it when he's 8 but by 10, 11, 12? He's haunted by nightmares. Kid is living in a time with no proper mental health help, no good medicine, and no therapy, hell nobody even realized civilians could get PSTD/shellshock. Kid is fucked up. Alex's parents are well meaning but they're dealing with their own trauma and Alex might be good at hiding it, eventually at least. Still, Alex is left with a lot of trauma that he has to deal with and he likely has started to draw within himself by his mid teens, which isn't made better by the arrival of Cleo as now their attention is on her.
