Okay updating and consolidating lots of info here; as well as adding links for ease of access. Adding a brief description for some too; as is the case that not all of them have descriptions above. (Warning that some of these links contain nude refs, I will try to mark where possible which ones have more prominent ones.)
Posing Sites and Apps:
Adorkastock. Stock photos for pose refs. DeviantArt gallery started in 2007.
FreePhotoMuscle.com. (translated page link click here) Japanese stock photo pose site that includes buff people, but in funny poses and costumes.
CroquoisCafe. (NSFW, nude model poses warning) A stock photo pose site. You should be aware this org has been linked as pro-Trump. I leave it to yāall to decide if you want to use the resources or not. I highly encourage not financially supporting them and trying to support the individual models if you can.
Line of Action. Fantastic site that includes posing refs, community discussions from other artists, figure study, anatomy, etc. So much stuff in here.
PoseSpace. Extensive library of poses. Some free resources others are paid. Iāve not fully evaluated both, but you should be able to use this all mostly free and get great use out of it.
SketchDaily. This one is one of the better ones out there. You can time yourself, search by pose, clothing options, body type, perspective, etc. All real models.
JustSketch.me. A pose app for any device. Has apps for most devices and a webapp. Customize and pose models/props/scenes.
Quickposes. Pose site that gives you timed challenges to become more proficient at poses.

āWhen we reveal ourselves to our partner and find that this brings healing rather than harm, we make an important discovery - that intimate relationship can provide a sanctuary from the world of facades, a sacred space where we can be ourselves, as we areā¦Ā This kind of unmasking - speaking our truth, sharing our inner struggles, and revealing our raw edges - is sacred activity, which allows two souls to meet and touch more deeply.āĀ - John Welwood inĀ all about loveĀ by bell hooks
Why do people keep reblogging that photo of a goth chick in a combine harvester
For context she made a tiktok dancing to a country song and people were saying "I bet she doesn't even know how to start a tractor". So she started the tracker up and drove it.
Sleeping positions good for your spine: Stiff. Uncomfortable. Feels like a numb piece of driftwood stuck in wet sand. Positional equivalent of studying for an AP chem test.
Sleeping positions that are absolutely awful for your spine: Heavenly. Glorious. Elysian. The most comfortable shape you will ever make with your body. Clears your skin and fixes your mental health. Your dad comes home with the milk.

once you understand that a vibrator is an accessibility tool, your understanding of disabled issues and of the world really widens
most people only think of accessibility tools in a barebones kind of way. a ramp is needed to physically enter spaces, a cane is needed so i donāt fall over while standing, captions are needed to literally be able to understand words being spoken.
some people go a little farther and understand them in terms of daily life functions, like adaptive clothing, or pre-cut food. still, these things are only seen as needing access tools because theyāre baseline human functions. eating. walking. wearing clothes.
my vibrator is an access tool. because of my conditions, i canāt hold my hand where it needs to be long enough to masturbate. masturbating isnāt a necessary human function. i will not die if i donāt do it. i wonāt lose my job if i donāt do it.
but the thing about a vibrator, is that it makes an aspect of life that i want to enjoy possible. disabled access is not only about the barebones basic necessities to literally be alive. if someone wants to have orgasms, a vibrator is an important tool to a pleasurable life. food delivery makes eating delicious food possible. sensory friendly live performances makes enjoying theatre and music possible. shower seats mean people can sit and enjoy a long shower that otherwise would have exhausted them. service dogs let people go out with their friends when they wouldnāt have otherwise.Ā my cane doesnāt just help me walk, it helps me keep balance while iām dancing at the club.
disabled people deserve so much more than to just get by. we deserve to have full, pleasurable lives, to experience all the kinds of things that able-bodied people get to experience too. access tools are meant to help us not only survive, but to really thrive too
I literally said āYES!!!ā out loud and then started reading this post out loud to my wife, and by the time I was finished reading it, I was crying, because this is it. This is the shit. This is the truth.
There is a sort of punitive mindset when it comes to disability ā you cannot ask for accommodations if you donāt really need them, it has to be for something essential, something you canāt live without, canāt do your job without. I think this ā in the end ā comes from the very ableist idea that people arenāt disabled unless they have somehow failed to not be disabled. The Puritain mindset which says that disability is a punishment for failing to be good ā somehow ā and that it is a punishment for sin ā somehow ā informs this particularly noxious bit of garbage.
If you want help, you have to suffer for it, because you wouldnāt be in this situation at all if you didnāt deserve it somehow ā and that goes double if the help that you need is disability payments or Medicaid/Medicare or something else thatās an āentitlementā. If disabled people arenāt in sackcloth and ashes, they canāt really need help.
And like, fuck that, actually, and fuck the idea that only āgoodā disabled people deserve accommodations? Even if my disability was the result of having driven my car recklessly and crashed it into a tree, I donāt deserve to never know joy again. Even if my diabetes were because I had eaten nothing but spoonfuls of confectionerās sugar for three years, I donāt deserve to suffer.
Fuck the idea that only āgood cripplesā who didnāt ādo this to themselvesā deserve accommodations, and fuck the idea that disabled people donāt deserve the full experience of human life with all of its joy, all of its dancing, and yes, all of its orgasms.

idea for my spoonie + mentally ill buds out there: use a monthly + weekly planner as a meds/symptoms tracker. i've tried tracking symptoms in my journal, but there's too many sensitive/private entries in that book for me to feel comfortable taking it with me to doctor's appointments or elsewhere (fear of losing it + stranger reading it: high). there was also no structure.
so i bought a basic weekly/monthly planner and this is how i use it:
- the weekly pages with sections for every day aren't used as to-do lists, but rather as a place to record symptoms and changes, like a little journal entry for the day but specifically about disability/disorder stuff
- the monthly sections are used to keep my appointments and health-related obligations organized. it's also a good way to track your period, and it gives you a monthly overview of what meds you're taking (more on that below)
- for every day in the monthly and weekly sections, i'll make a little line of colored squares (using the chisel tip of a mildliner, easy peasy), with each color representing a different med. when i take the medication for that day, i'll treat the colored boxes like checkboxes and draw an ex through them. that way you can see on a weekly and monthly basis how often you're taking certain meds, and they serve as a colorful visual reminder, too. i also make a little legend on the monthly pages in case i forget which color goes with which med
just thought i would share! i've found this to work pretty well, and that's saying alot coming from someone who has tried and failed to be a 'planner person' many a times. turns out i just needed to make it work for me :)
You don't need to be at your breaking point to finally allow yourself to rest.
Hot take, but if you see your baby struggle through five hours of homework and then you get pissy because they drag their feet about doing chores? You need to reevaluate.
Like Iām not saying kids shouldnāt be taught responsibility and shown how to keep their house clean. Iām just saying maybe children get tired and frustrated too. Like. Your teenager doesnāt have an āattitudeā. Sheās just had 7 hours of school and then came home to do 5 more hours. Then, her parents implied she was lazy because she hadnāt gotten around to doing the laundry. Iād snap at you too.
PREACH.
hey no offense i mean this in the best way but if someone you love is talking about stuff you donāt understand and is very passionate about it (like idk nuclear energy or astronomy), you can a) listen anyway even if you canāt add anything because theyāre probably just happy that someone can hear them b) ask them questions about it so you understand if youāre interested because they will surely be willing to answer and happy that you care
you may not care but it means the world to someone that youāre willing to just, listen, when anyone else would just not care about being nice to them about their interests.
"I've seen you hold your breath underwater. You don't really need that scuba gear."
"I've seen you stand. You don't really need that wheelchair."
These statements use the same exact logic. So why is the first considered utterly ridiculous but the second considered a normal belief?
Prom
basic self protection can look extreme if you don't understand the threat it's defending against.
a medical professional recently remarked on the spikes on my wheelchair. so i said they are to prevent people from grabbing me. then i had to clarify that yes, that does happen, with alarming regularity. and people become affronted and sometimes even violent when you tell them not to do this. he was shocked.
to him, and to many people who see me in public, the line of spikes on the back of my wheelchair probably looks extreme, if they don't think it's part of some punk aesthetic or whatever.
so perhaps before you judge someone's mode of self protection, as long as they aren't causing harm, it is worth considering they might be defending themselves against a threat you have no idea about.
And just because a truly disturbing number of people don't understand this - pushing a wheelchair user without permission is as freaky and horrible as it would be if someone came and physically moved your legs for you.
⨠And it's assault āØ
