Hahaha pain. Oh two boots, are you ready to weird uncle/single dad it up? Also did anyone else catch the bit at the end where two boots and Rylee were leaning on each other while they slept/power cycled? Cause I sure did and it’s all I can think about.
some purely stupid doodles of two boots and spybot because I like to think they would get along if they had more than two seconds of shared screen time.
ok so I watched Maul: Shadow Lord and OH MY GOD IT'S GOOD. Two boots is everything I have ever wanted from star wars when it comes to droids, and i am so glad he exists. We don't normally see nuanced protagonist droids, especially not ones who speak, and i'm really hoping he gets a few chances to shine next season.
So very excited to share the comic i made for @ferdibertauzine !! I got to combine two of my favourite things ever— ferdibert and pacific rim (and had a lot of fun figuring out how to draw the drift!). Leftovers are open now so you can grab a copy now if you’re interested, so many talented people worked on this zine so be sure to check it out!
One thing abt this ship and the moon fam that absolutely kills me is how Ethari always knew what he was getting himself into. He knew when he married runaan that he might send off his husband for the last time. He probably knew when they started dating. And that never stops him from loving Runaan with reckless abandon.
My hand slipped. Fluffy and angsty ruthari before the final battle <2
~~
Runaan finds Ethari in the kitchen boxing up leftover moonberry surprise, tongue poking out between his lips in concentration. Yawning, Runaan wraps his arms around his husband's waist, resting his chin over his shoulder.
He's barely slept tonight, but Aaravos can't wait.
They need all the help they can get.
"Are you sure this will work?" Runaan mumbles into Ethari's neck. "Rex Igneous is notoriously grumpy."
"As are you, my heart," Ethari giggles. Runaan pouts in mock offense, and Ethari turns his head to peck his lips. "I trust what Rayla and Callum told us, especially given that moonberry surprise has never left the Silvergrove before."
He closes the box and sets it aside, turning to fully embrace Runaan.
They sway lazily in the kitchen, drawing out the moment of peace before the storm.
"You proposed to me with moonberry surprise."
"I did."
"My hands hold your heart."
"They do."
"My guiding moon."
Ethari kisses him softly, slowly, reassuring him. Runaan whimpers, tangling his hands in his husband's long hair.
"Ethari, if I don't—"
"You will."
"But—"
"Don't." Ethari's eyes bore into his, pleading. "You will. And when you come home, we will marry again."
Ethari grabs the plate of leftover moonberry surprise, lowering to one knee in front of Runaan and presenting the dessert. Runaan gasps, vision blurring as he gazes at the love of his life.
"Your hands hold my heart, through light and shadow. Marry me again, Runaan. Tie your new life to mine, as you did your old one. My shade. My heart."
Ethari's voice cracks on the last word, and that's all it takes for Runaan to throw himself into Ethari's arms.
"Yes," he manages through tears, kissing Ethari over and over. "Yes. I will tie myself to you every way I know how."
Ethari smiles into the kiss, sliding the hand not steadying the dessert down to squeeze Runaan's forearm. Runaan's breath hitches.
"Oh, we'll get to that later."
Runaan blushes and swats Ethari's chest.
"Hush, you. Our daughter is waiting on us."
"Ah, that's true. But first..." He reaches for a spoon on the counter and brings the dessert closer. "Moonberry surprise?"
Runaan takes the spoon from his husband, scooping up a bite and holding it out to him. Smiling, Ethari lets him feed him the dessert.
