of all the things you could have told me would be combined with the waltz from Howl's Moving Castle
Holy fuck
This works best if you keep windows closed.
Another design is using 2 20x25x1 filters, taping them to the sides of the box fan and then to each other so they sort of make a triangle, then cutting cardboard to make a top and bottom to the triangle.
This was discovered as a more effective design during the 2020 US west coast fires.

A better more efficient and odor eliminating homemade air purifier than just taping a 20x20x1 filter to a box fan. Sometimes you need to

What an amazing sound - Women from the Rugova region in Kosovo are singing to the rhythms of tepsia (copper pan for preparing traditional food). This disappearing minimalistic style was a popular form of singing among communities throughout the Dinara mountain range. Filmed by Japanese ethnographers from the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka.
The Watering Pot Shell (Verpa penis), known indeed to the sober and professional scientific community by the Latin name, Verpa penis.
Verpa is a vulgar, Latin word which means âpenisâ. So theyâre really trying to make a point here. I must admit, Iâm not wholly convinced of the verpine (?) quality of this thing. Looks more like a parsnip to me.
Or maybe IâM the weird one? :0
Regardless! This strange root vegetable looking thing is actually the shell of a bivalve, related to clams; oysters and mussels.
They live half-buried in the seabed of south-east Asia, thick end down. The Watering Pot sends out a pair of tubes from the thin end and uses them to filter food out of the water.
The other end bears lots of tiny holes and looks just like the spout of a watering can. And if you look closely, you can actually see the original bivalve shells of their youth, kind of embedded in the thick end. Itâs all thatâs left of their original, more traditional shell, before all the rest began to grow.
Yeah. Pretty sure Iâm not the weird one.

Ah, Iâve seen some of these - unfortunately the collection they were in didnât include any locality data, which made them not particularly useful to the Perth museum.
The shape of the early shell does look like a butt, so all is not lost
why would you hide this in the notes bro @blatantescapism
a lady yesterday bought a tiny red onion and i told her âwow i love this onion.. itâs so perfectâ and she said âyou understand meâŚâ
@rainplanet submitted: I found this ant dragging a feather last summer đâĄ
This isâŚextremely cute. Did you know? Some ants will place feathers near their nest to collect dew in the mornings to drink. Neat!

another random epiphany i had on my drive home from the store was that things that are the most obvious often feel the most profound. i was looking at the sunset through my window. i was like âthis is beautiful and it changes all the time so every sunset is a little different and also beautiful.â which led me to think âif you look at the earth from space, the clouds are never pink or blue or yellow or orange, they are just white and grey all the time. in space perhaps the sunsets are not very different or very beautiful.â which led me to think âthe sunsets are only beautiful because i am so small.â which led me to think âso many things are only beautiful because i am so small, or if not only then they are at least much more beautiful than they might otherwise be, either because my vantage point of smallness allows me to see details that big things wouldnât see, like when i see the flash of the sun at sunset with my little eyes on this big planet, or because my briefness finds vastness so incredible cuz itâs so much bigger than me, like when i sit under a very very old and very very tall tree.â and this was all somewhat obvious but it didnât make the feeling of epiphany go away or diminish at all
100% TRUE
Pro tip: If you copy and paste a link that said âno free articlesâ into a private/incognito browser, it will let you read the whole thing.
also if u press the âescâ (escape) key on ur laptop before the page fully loads, it wonât load any pop-ups blocking u from reading. if the article has images, then this method sometimes does not u see them. but! the words will be fine :)
If the site is particularly badly designed, you might just be able to delete the overlay itself. Right click > Inspect element and delete the line of HTML (itâll be highlighted automatically)
hey kids there is a website called outline.com that will let you read from pretty much any news site with a paywall for free

Comebacks for Holiday Survival While Fat: âDo you *really* need that???â
1. âActually, youâre right. I really need two. Thanks for asking, I would have gone the whole night wanting another one and youâre just such a sweetheart for putting my needs and wants first!â
2. âUnless a mouse shit in it, Karen, I do in fact really need that cookie.â
3. âThere are very few people who arguably need to eat holiday sweets. I eat them because I want to. Your doctor didnât like, prescribe you pumpkin pie or something, did she?â
4. âDo you really need to comment on what everyoneâs eating, Karen?â
(add your own!)
