"If voting were fair, we would lose" is not the point you want to be making publicly, man. That's not a rallying cry that's a self-own.

Maybe youâre young, and you think this doesnât affect you. But, it will affect your parents, or your grandparents.  And, remember, if Republicans kill these programs, the dollars you pay in â that are/have been withheld from your paycheck â you will never get back.
Social security does affect young Americans! You never know when a disability or life altering illness may come along, hence why its social insurance. If your parents or your spouse dies, you can receive survivors benefits.
These are your earned benefits. Those who make over $147k dont have to pay ss tax after that, not to mention capital gains arent taxed. The ss trust fund has trillions of dollars in it deadass
A lot of the time youll hear the program is going bankrupt- thats a lie! the program is paid for and deficit neutral. There is a projected shortfall where about 78% of benefits would be paid out in 2034/2035. The actuary has projected that making millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share in taxes would create enough revenue to continue the program through the rest of the century
Dont let republicans sunset social security, you pay for it, youve earned it. Without it, millions of seniors widows children and people w disabilities will be vulnerable to poverty! This program has never missed a payment (even through war, recessions, pandemics, assassinations, etc)
Vote. Please.
POV your soul is forfeit
very fucking disheartening that im seeing so many fuckin people talk about how gas prices have risen so much and pay has been stagnant that they are now fucking losing more money fuckin driving for/to work and dont know how theyre going to survive and pay for rent and food and supporting their family because theyre now earning less than minimum wage because of inflation and then seeing wealthier liberals going "HAVE YOU CONSIDERED SAVING $70,000 FOR AN ELECTRIC CAR?" or "MAYBE YOU SHOULD CUT BACK ON THE VANILLA MOCHA DOUBLE ICED WHITE FRAPPUCHINOS đ€Ș" and my favorite "HAVE YOU THOUGHT ABOUT BUDGETING HARDER???" like god damn these bitches are really asking to dragged out of their houses and executed on the street
Don't forget "grow your own food! It only takes a couple feet of land and everyone has at least THAT much land don't they???"
Happy International Womenâs Day to this twitter account and only this twitter account

I cannot fucking believe I am drunk, past midnight, and tumblr is throwing fucking saturated fatty-acids at me
Listen here friendo I didnât sit through a year of organic chemistry for you to come into my house and call a carboxylic acid a saturated fatty acid you respect that hexadecanoic acid
And I didnt get a degree in biochemistry to hear you say that carboxylic acids with aliphatic chains arent fatty acids. That hexadecanoic acid IS a saturated fatty acid!
I think that whenever an actor is fired for making racist/sexist/homophobic tweets, it should be written into the series. None of this recasting nonsense or pretending that the character suddenly died or moved away. In the very first scene of the series, one of the characters is like âwait, whereâs Dave?â and someone else is like âoh, heâs racist. We donât talk to Dave any more,â and then literally never mention Dave again.
Also, more actors should be fired for racist/sexist/homophobic statements.
Look at where you get your information. Make sure itâs reliable. Stop causing more pain to people already in a rough place.Â

Post reads as follows
I performed an emergency surgery several months ago to treat a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. The patient could have died, but we were able to stabilize her and send her home the same day.
She called my office this week in tears asking why we did not reimplant her pregnancy in her uterus, why did we not offer her this option. Because maybe her baby didnât have to die.
Pseudoscience is invading my operating room and my relationship with my patients. This poor woman had to have emergency surgery, and then grieved the loss of a pregnancy that was never viable, that could have killed her.
And now she is grieving it again because politicians who lack even the most basic understanding of the physiology of pregnancy are dangling untruths in front of her and calling it fact.
In case anyone reading this is wondering, THIS IS NOT A THING. It is NOT POSSIBLE to reimplant ectopic pregnancies into the uterus. These are NOT viable pregnancies, and all the wishing in the world, the magical thinking, the political grandstanding, will not make it so.
End image description]
Hi friends. Quick anatomy lesson, complete with fun pictures.
This is the reproductive system in question.
Interesting, right? Iâve been told it looks like a shark.
In viable pregnancies, a fertilized egg (known as a zygote in biology) implants in the wall of the uterus.
As the pregnancy progresses, the zygote grows. Cells undergo mitosis (where the cells replicate) and differentiation (where the cells take on special jobs and become organ systems). At full term, the zygote resembles a baby we know.
The placenta delivers nutrients to the fetus and helps detoxify wastes. From the placenta comes the umbilical cord, which serves a similar purpose. The fetusâ head presses against the cervix, through which it will pass during birth. The part in the circle are the pregnant personâs internal organs! The uterus smooshes them to make room. Itâs no wonder they use the restroom so often!
In an ectopic pregnancy, however, the zygote doesnât implant correctly.
It can implant in a variety of places (including the fallopian tube, pictured) to which it is not suited.
After it implants, it continues to undergo mitosis (which we talked about earlier). Whereas the uterus is equipped to deal with this exponential growth, other parts of the body are not.
As the zygote grows, it puts immense strain on the organ it implanted in. If it continues to grow too long, it can rupture! The zygote will lose blood supply and will quickly die. The pregnant person will begin to bleed internally without proper medical care. Left alone, it can lead to death of the pregnant person.
This diagram is a little complex, but put very simply, because the zygote hasnât implanted in the right place originally, it cannot be removed and implanted in the correct one. It wonât be able to fuse correctly with the uterus, or to send signals to develop the umbilical cord and placenta we talked about earlier, not to mention that the rupture causes blood to be diverted from the zygote, effectively killing it before it can be implanted.
Not only is it futile, but itâs unsafe for the pregnant person. Ectopic pregnancies cause blood loss, which is exacerbated by further surgical intervention. Exposure to external environments exposes the zygote to infection, and surgical implantation exposes the pregnant person to infection, which could also lead to pregnancy complication or loss.
To make a long story short: you cannot reimplant an ectopic pregnancy. Please stop trying.
Please reblog this from the person above and not from the TERFs that jumped in after. Thanks :)
My Church has a LOT of doctors and when I asked, all of them looked at me like I was asking if apples grew on lemon trees. This cannot be done with current technology. Goodness knows, rabid anti-abortionists ought to know better.Â

The 2 types of people on Tumblr.
There is a domestication movement of possums in America. I think ours are cuter too. are you guys domesticating them?
Australian possums are definitely cuter than American possums, and no, that sounds like a terrible idea. The last thing we need is even more animals running around that are unowned but dependent on humans.
Where I live does have a giant sinkhole where tourists go to feed the resident possums bits of fruit, though.
I kinda actually love that. But also, all I can think is, âHey kiddos, wanna go for a trip to the POSSUM PIT??!??!â
My aunt and uncle got married in the possum pit.
Itâs a hole in the ground. There are some possums in it. If you give them bits of apple they will eat it. I donât understand the question.
The sinkhole looks like this:
The possums live in the walls.
I wish to live near or inside the possum pit

I love how magical this is and how the Australian is just like
I canât imagine the balls it takes to be a Russian anti-war protester right now. Good for them.
#i hope theyâre being safe and carefulÂ
Right now, holding up a sign in St. Petersburg condemning this war is the textbook definition of âneither safe nor careful.â
But theyâre proving to anybody in Russia who thought they were the only ones who opposed this war, that theyâre not, and reminding the rest of the world that a government is not the people it claims to represent, and I am deeply moved by their courage.
Iâm so much more productive after the sun goes down. While the sun is up I feel the weight of having to do things and it just overwhelms me.
But when the sun has gone to bed suddenly my time is my own. I can do with it what I will and oftentimes that means the cleaning Iâve been meaning to do, the projects Iâve been putting off. They suddenly donât seem overwhelming to me.
I like it when the sun goes down.
Ah, your ancestors were the ones who kept the night watch around the campfire
Iâm sorry but this is genuinely the nicest thing anyoneâs ever said to me.
this was a great read. âLaziness Does Not Existâ by Devon Price
I see a lot of people who tell young peopleâespecially young people who are heading into collegeâthat they should âdo what they love.â And theyâre right. You should do what you love.
But thereâs a world of difference between doing what you love for you, and doing what you love for a paycheck.Â
I went to undergrad for graphic design and 3-D designâart and more art, I usually sayâand I loved it. You know what I didnât love? Trying to collect my fees from clients. Trying to meet unrealistic, over-simplified or over-specific briefs from people who didnât know what they were talking about. Coming home, having worked creatively all day, with no creative juice left for the things I wanted to do.
You know what I would tell you instead? Do something that you can be interested in, with people you like.
You donât have to love it. Loving your work can be a lot, and it often means you have to live in your job 24/7. Some people can do that. Not everyone can, or should. But if you can find work thatâs interesting enough that it doesnât feel tedious, and people you can enjoy spending your 9-5 with, and you can make money, thatâs great! It means you can do the things you love for you.
Iâm in law school now. Itâs interesting work, and difficult, and I like doing it. I like how complicated it gets, and I like the stories it tells. But I donât come home and read law journals for fun. I come home, and I sculpt, and I draw, and I paint, and I read. I do these things for me.
And I love it.Â
This is still circulating and itâs been a few years, so let me update. Iâm officially a lawyer now, and still not a single regret about this choice. Settling into a stable job is such a gift and a privilege in ways I didnât expect. Iâm not going to repeat the advice given above, but I want to make it clear that having passed through my student years and into my career proper, I stand by this in every respect.Â
I chose to take a job that was not the most high-paying option available to me, because it wouldnât require me to bill my time, I would have a better work-life balance, I found the work more engaging, and I really loved the office. It has paid off so much.
I get to walk to work, and most days I leave my laptop behind when I walk home at five. I have a little house with a little garden and a bunch of seedlings sprouting too early for spring. I have two stupid cats and two stupider doves and they make me happy. I put a little money into food and shelter for the neighborhood strays and name all my visiting opossums Harold. My art gets done when I feel inspiration striking, sometimes in the middle of the night, and I let my hobby fund itself without the pressure of deadlines. There is so much joy in making only what I want to. My sleep schedule has stabilized. For the first time in my life, I know the shape my days will take weeks and months away, because my routine is consistent, and I never knew what a peace that was. My job is predictable but never boring, interesting but not consuming, and itâs just a job.Â
There are people who will tell youâpeople who have told meâthat turning my back on an artistic career or a career you have âpotentialâ in is selling out, or settling.Â
Let me tell you, friends, I have never felt so settled.Â
Today is the only day you can reblog this meme, everyone
Happy 22/2/22 day!
Not to mention that today, 22/2/22 Pluto has finished its trip around the sun which started in 1774.
