I guess I should write an introduction post!

Hello Hi Hello

My name is Ariel (Ari). I am a 24 y/o artist from Connecticut. I'm AuDHD, I also have endometriosis, IC, depression, PMDD, and Chronic pain/fatigue, which all play a roll in the art I create. I love creating art but I often lack the capacity to market myself on social media. I want this blog to be a place for me to just share my art, find inspo and get creative. Abstract space has been my main focus over the last few years. I create abstract outer space themed paintings which reflect the way I see things in my brain. It shows how I think and what the inside of my brain looks like most of the time. I love working with bright colors, bold and organic shapes and lines. I've recently been getting more into fan art and game based art. TOTK has been a HUGE special interest of mine (I have 600+ hours of just game play in the first year and have 100% the whole thing😁) I've been working on a few different Zelda pieces which you can check out here or on my website!

My special interests include: LOZ (especially TOTK and BOTW), outer space, mushrooms, gardening and GARDENING🍃, Minecraft, Rick and Morty, Acrylic paint, etc...

-I have a part time job as a Bartender (I've been bartending for 4 years and I absolutely love it.)

-I just bought my first home Nov, 2024 with my amazing life partner. We have been together for 3 years. We have 2 beautiful boy kitties (they are super gay)

-I'm very introverted outside of work and often keep to myself

-I have a hard time communicating and making friend. I have a very small group of close friends who I love dearly

-I studied Biology, Criminal Justice and Graphic Design at CCSU for 3 years before dropping out. It became to hard for me to stay engaged and keep up with my school work without any accommodations

-I love tattoos, I have 20 so far (more to come) I have 3 mushroom tattoos, a moth, a snail, a portrait, snake, decorative line work, 3 matching/ tattoos with friends and one with my partner, and more

Theme is Zora’s Domain from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

-Waterfalls surround Zora’s Domain, covering the cliff sides and leading into a big lake

-Sea shells are carved into the rock walls

-A reekfish which can only be found in the domains waters

-Princes Ralis decorative anklet

-Water ripples

I planned this set out in advance by taking my own reference picture from the game. I also made a color pallet with my existing nail colors so I could pre-draw design ideas. Very proud of how this set came out!!!

“In chaos, We dance”

Acrylic and mixed media on 24”x36” stretched canvas

This project was a long one and one that became very meaningful to me. It’s hard to let this one go! I was tasked with creating a painting from listening to a few selected tango songs.

Tango is a Latin dance, originating from Argentina and other Latin countries. Tango is about connection. It’s a passionate show of emotion connecting two partners.

Traditional dances can be found all over the world in many different forms. Dancing is a way to connect, celebrate, mourn and protest. Dance has historically been used in resistance, such as at protests. It has deep cultural significance. Dancing in spite of everything bad going on around us is so powerful. While creating this piece it was hard to not think about how it connects to our world today. It was difficult making an art piece centered around a Spanish dance while our government is targeting these minorities.

ICE is kidnapping people off the streets, detaining American citizens, racially profiling their targets and terrorizing our cities. It is more important now than ever to resist, to DANCE.

This painting has become centered around dancing in chaos. Dancing in spite of the country collapsing around us.

In my research into Tango I came across this quote that stuck with me. “Nadie te quita lo bailado “ Meaning: No one can take from you what you’ve already danced.

Okay don’t come at me this is my first time growing carrots😭 I’m growing rainbow carrots and I pulled one to see how they were looking. Cute baby carrot! I don’t know why but i thought the inside would also be purple? Is it because I pulled it too early or are they all like that and i’m just stupid? 😭 anyways the carrot was delicious🥕

Hestu and Friends” Acrylic on canvas

This took me so longggg. I’m absolutely in love with how it came out!! I love all the tiny details🎨

Info dump about the paintings and characters:

Featuring some beloved characters from The Legend of Zelda. Hestu is a musician who uses his magical maracas to expand Links inventory space. Him and his Korok friends will sing a cha cha song and do a lil dance. He will shake his maracas and confetti and bubbles will burst from the instruments! There colors will change depending on which inventory Link is expanding. Red for weapons, green for bows and blue for shields.

When you first meet Hestu in Breath of The Wild (BOTW), his maracas have just been stolen and he will task Link with retrieving them. Link must fight a few monsters and will then find the maraca in a treasure chest. Once returned, Hestu will offer to upgrade Links inventory space in exchange for korok seeds. Seeds can be found throughout Hyrule by completing small puzzles.

After a few exchanges he will head back to the Korok forest where Link can find him later on.

In Tears of The Kingdom Hestu can be found in a few different locations. The first is northwest of Lookout Landing in Central Hyrule. He will be stationed near Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The second is at Lookout Landing, but only after completing at least one of the 4 regional main quests. Lastly, he can be found in the Korok forest where he will stay for the remainder of game play.

In the painting, around Hestu are various other Koroks that can be found in the Korok Forest. Starting from Hestu’s left, there is Chio, Natie, Maca, Daz, Peeks, Pepp, and Kula.

The koroks either get a lot of love or a lot of distain. I personally love the koroks, they are so cute and I love getting to do little puzzles while gaming.

The koroks in BOTW and TOTK come in various colors and face shapes. They come in light green, dark green, light blue, light brown, and light red. There are 8 different leaf face shapes they can have including round, vertical and horizontal oblong, heart, and star. Some players have come up with their own names for a few of the faces. My favorites are “Squimblow”, “Forklift”, and“Beardus” (From @ QuinBoBin on Youtube).
