For Michael’s Birthday

Here’s a piece of birthday art that I did from Michael, a co-worker at my job. He’s my right-hand man at work, but most of all he’s my friend and therefore easy to talk about! Michael and I are bus boys at a popular restaurant. When we’re not busy, we joke around while rolling silverware into napkins. We call ourselves the Double Dragons, just like the video game series on the old Nintendo. I’m The Dragon, and Michael is the Black Dragon, due to the fact that Michael is a big black guy. I did this piece of Piper for Michael’s birthday. Also, the day before his birthday, my cousin had her baby. So I get to be an Uncle for the 5th time. So lots to celebrate. Alyssa Marie

Here’s some photos of my new niece, Alyssa Marie. Well, actually she’s my cousin, but I’m her honorary uncle. She was born on October 10 2016. At birth, she’s 8lbs 6oz. She’s very cute. My mother is going gaga over her. I’m very happy for Alyssa’s parents. Other than that, enjoy the photos.

Miss Kitty Totally Rocks Out

Sorry I didn’t post this sooner. I have been busy with my new job. This piece was made for my father for his birthday. It’s his cat Miss Kitty rocking out on a guitar. And yes, that’s a wig that Miss Kitty is wearing. My father plays guitar as a hobby. He used to play in a band when he was young. So I put the two together. My father loves Miss Kitty. He really REALLY loves cats. Meanwhile my mother is a dog person. She has her own dog named Cinnamon. We love to call the pets in our family “The Arikado Sisters.” Like most sisters, they don’t get along. Haha!

I like to image that Miss Kitty would have an easy time playing guitar. Why? Built in picks. Her claws are her picks. Lots of fun.

When making this piece in ArtRage, I worked on it while playing rock music in the background as I worked. I played some Bon Jovi, some Aerosmith, some Rob Zombie and of course some Hollywood Undead. You know me. Gotta get some Undead in there somewhere. I finished the piece to the classic song “We’re an American Band” by Grand Funk Railroad. Gotta love the classics. Happy birthday, Dad! Piper Loves Dancing

After not drawing her for months (save for doodles), I decided to draw Piper again. With her clothes on, for the time being. Here she is having a good time at a disco. Piper loves to dance barefoot with her big hooters bouncing to the beat. All the men (and even a few women) love to watch Piper dance. Like me, Piper’s a fan of Hollywood Undead and loves to boogie to the song Everywhere I Go [Castle Renholder Mix]. She also has seen Charlie Scene’s weenie that he likes to show. (Bitch!) In fact, We Are is pretty much my theme song. Sometimes I feel that my life is shit. I have my good days, though. So, don’t worry about me.

Anywho, I first doodled Piper dancing on my sketchpad. I liked it so much that I scanned it into Photoshop Elements and turned it into a digital piece. Don’t worry. I’m still using ArtRage. For certain things, Photoshop Elements is easier. But I’m still learning ArtRage. I like drawing Piper because she likes to be barefoot/naked and because she’s a smoking hot Gangsta Sexy anime girl. Remember, if you’re a sexy anime girl, it’s mandatory that you go barefoot all the time so everyone can see your sexy feet. Sorry, that’s the rule. Yes, I’m a pervert. Who isn’t? So today is Sonic’s birthday. 25 years. I knew Sonic back in the day. Back when he was a little fatty and could only go as fast as the Mega Drive 68000 processor would allow him. Over the years Sonic has lost the fat, grew his hair out, and can now reach light speed.

So 25 years. We, as Sonic fans, have endured a lot. From the good times like when Sonic fought Eggman in Green Hill Zone, Sonic going Supa Saiyan-jin once you collect all 7 Chaos Emeralds from the Special Stages, to Sonic going faster that light in Sonic Unleashed. As well as the bad times, such as watching Sonic get beat up by a giant robot that he could not fight, to getting killed and brought back from the dead thanks to a human princess’ kiss, to getting a Saturday Morning cartoon that had NOTHING to do with the games. And yet, we have not only endured, we have thrived. And continue to do so.

This being Sonic’s 25th, I had to do a piece of art to celebrate. For this piece, I went with a sticker/badge style. I thought it would be cool if the theme was that of Sonic’s birth year. Hence the name “Club 1991.” Plus it sounds cool.

The point is, one day my dream will become a reality and I will rescue Sonic from Sega. It WILL happen, mark my works. In the meantime, Happy Birthday Sonic! Created in Artrage 4.5 with a Cintiq 13.

NiGHTS As mentioned on my journal, I’m going to start doing more fan art. I figured since I drew Sonic, why not draw/paint Sonic Team’s other most famous character? NiGHTS was one of my favorite games I played back when I was a kid.  I actually had a Sega Saturn with NiGHTS that I brought 3 years after my folks had gotten me a Nintendo 64 with Mario Kart, Zelda Ocarina of Time, and Star Fox 64. (I also would barrow my cousin’s PlayStation for time to time. Mostly for Crash Bandicoot.) Lucky for me, by the time I got my Saturn, the system was on life support so I got it cheap with NiGHTS and Virtual On (Still the best Gundam game ever!)

Anymoo, I always hated how Sega and Sonic Team never made NiGHTS into a series like they did with Sonic. Because NiGHTS could have been so much more than just one or two games. Maybe one day we will get the awesome HD NiGHTS game we should have gotten with the Wii game. I’m sure that you heard the story that the NiGHTS Wii game was going to be on XBOX 360 before Sega told Sonic Team “MAKE IT A WII GAME NAO!” Yep, NiGHTS got executive meddled to death. What a shame. And people wonder why I hate Sega so much. I never played NiGHTS Wii due to that everyone told me it sucked. Oh well. Maybe one day.

Like my Viewtiful Joe drawing, it’s been YEARS since I have drawn NiGHTS, so bear with me if my painting is a bit fudgy. I used to doodle NiGHTS all the time. I remember back in the early 2000’s I used to go to the NiGHTS fansite that was ran by TRiPPY. These days she draws her own comic called Engelbaum. Go to spectramisarts.com to check it out. His Name Is Sonic

Right now, I’m learning how to use ArtRage. Other than drawing NEKKED PIPER, I tried my hand at drawing Sonic again. He may be a little fat needlemouse but he runs faster than Mach 1. Sonic prefers to always be on the move, just in case Dr. Eggman strikes. He mostly only stops to help Tails and Knuckles with their problems. And to chow down on junk food. Which is why he’s a fatty. Sonic will go on a date with Amy, as long as there’s food to eat. Sonic eats a lot due to the fact he’s always running. Where do you think he gets the energy to run from? Not from eating salad, that’s for sure. That’s because like me, Sonic is A MAN. He doesn’t eat that girly food! Salad isn’t food. Salad is what food eats! As The Simpsons once said, you don’t win friends with salad.

Anyway, I drew this while listening to Sonic 3 and KnucklesXMichael Jackson mashups on Youtube. When you listen to a Sonic 3 and Knuckles song with Jackson singing in the background, you realize how much of his work is still in Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Sonic and MJ were the perfect mix. Like Peanut Butter and Jelly. Like Apples and Bananas. Like Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt Attachment. Hahaha. Yeah. Created in ArtRage 4.5 with a Cintiq 13HD.

Flying into an ArtRage

Prescott here. For the last month (when I’m not busy with my job), I have been playing around with ArtRage, a new art program I got off Steam. And so far, I LOVE it! It’s a great little program. It can do a lot of things Photoshop can do and MORE. Photoshop’s good for certain things like modifying photos, but I’m always up for learning something new. Now, I’m not dissing Photoshop. It’s a great program. But the more programs I learn to use, the better. Remember, programs like Photoshop and ArtRage are TOOLS. Tools to help you make art. Just like owning a fancy violin will not turn you into a musical genius. You got to work for it.

ArtRage has a LOT of great tools. You got your brushes, your pencils, your stamps, that sort of thing. ALL the tools are customizable. You can draw or paint on any media and customize the media. It really is a wonderful program.

Don’t worry, I will still use Photoshop for certain things, though. But start expecting new art from me soon. Now that summer is almost here and I now know my hours at work, I can get back to drawing. The restaurant I’m working at is only open in the evenings. Hopefully that means more time to draw. Also I have decided to start doing more fan art. I don’t usually do fan art, but I will admit I’m getting a little tired of drawing nothing but my own characters. I’m trying to expand my horizons. As much as I enjoy drawing NEKKID PIPER, it’s better to expand my abilities than keep drawing the same thing forever. Well then. That’s it for me. See you next time!

A while back I talked about rebooting Piper’s story. And here is the finished result! It’s a little long, but I hope I’m getting my point across. Piper is my baby and I love her with all my heart. So enjoy the story. Due to adult content, Piper’s story should not be read by anyone under 18. OK? There, now you can't sue me.

Piper Tenderfoot/Super Hero Piper

Age: 24

 A Viewtiful, young, intelligent, regularly-naked Earth Mutant, Piper spends as much time as possible either being a super hero or being naked. She’s completely comfortable with her body, her nudity, and her many abilities. Piper is a tall tough mutant gal whose most famous quirk is a love of going barefoot. Since her youth, Piper has hated shoes and has preferred to go barefoot instead. She loves being barefoot so much that she made it part of her super hero outfit. Hence why she didn't wear shoes.

 Piper is the adopted daughter of Prof. Bill and Prof. Melissa Tenderfoot, who own Tenderfoot Science Industries in Edge City, U.K. Tenderfoot Science Industries is a globe-spanning company that specialized in human mutations.

 Piper was born on an island known as Ooze Island. Ooze Island gained its name due to it being a radioactive dump full of genetic-altering toxic waste. She was born to a mother that lived deep in the jungle of Ooze Island. The jungle area was home to many mutant creatures big and small. One day, to escape from the mutants of the jungle, Piper’s mother and her baby girl tried to leave the jungle. The mother was gravely injured by the mutants. Her only choice was to entrust the child to the meagre people of the village outside the jungle. The village’s elders could sense that this was a child of destiny, whose fate would affect the entire world. After the mother passed on, the baby was raised as one of their own. The village that did everything in their power to raise her. From her babyhood, Piper has super powers. Due to being born in the radioactive jungle, she absorbed a lot of the radioactivity.

 Around hitting 14 years old, she was adopted by the Tenderfoot family who were on Ooze Island studying the island’s radioactivity. The village’s elders gave Piper to the Tenderfoots upon realizing that this was Piper’s chance to leave Ooze Island. Once she was living in Edge City, Piper started to train and understand the power of her radioactive body. Her body was strong enough to survive being hit by an 18 wheeled truck. Piper would practice her punches and kicks each morning. Soon Piper began to favor using her legs for her primary fighting style. She also learned some wresting moves as well.

 As she lived in Edge City, Piper would help those around her. Piper was taught by her parents that the ones who are truly strong are those who help the weak stand. After school was over each day, Piper would remove her shoes and would do things like help the elderly cross the street and carry their groceries, to teaching the children how to swim at the local pools, all while barefoot. Upon aging to 21 years, Piper decided to make helping people with her powers her life mission.

 To do this, Piper decided to become a super hero. Being a lover of swimming, Piper picked her favorite red swimsuit and a cape as her super hero outfit. She also went with a pair of long fingerless gloves. She hated the idea of having to wear shoes and said to herself, “What the hey, I'll go barefoot. That’s what I’ll be: a barefoot superhero.” with a big smile. She then, with the help of the scientists at Tenderfoot Science Industries had the outfit enhanced to make Piper’s body more powerful when she had it on. By enhancing it with samples of Piper’s mutant blood, the swimsuit became “synced” with Piper’s body. Soon, they created a pendant in the shape of a peace symbol. Piper also requested that they create a weapon from her mutant blood. They soon created a whip-sword that Piper named Punishment.

 All Piper has to do is yell the word, “HADASHI!” to put on her super hero outfit. Piper MUST be naked to put her costume on, as the pendant’s older technology will fuse Piper’s clothes to her body once deactivated. Piper doesn’t mind having to be naked to use her costume. Going barefoot and feeling the earth under her feet reminds her of being naked more than anything else. Piper loves it. She is very proud of her body and feels that being naked empowers her.

 Finally the day came. Piper got up, got on a white t-shirt and blue shorts but stayed barefoot. Once she said good bye to her parents and friends, Piper started her quest: She will walk all over the world and help anyone she comes across. Upon walking out of Edge City’s city limits and into the country, Piper removed her t-shirt and shorts and tossed them aside. She became a naked vagabond, possessing nothing but her bare body, her bare feet, her strength, and her wits. And her necklace with a Peace Pendant.

 Piper currently drifts around the country helping others. From time to time, she’ll put clothes on to do certain things, but once her task is complete she goes back to being nude. Piper once said, “I don't know where I'll be tomorrow and that’s the way I like it.” She meant it. She is a citizen of the world.

This is my haul for this week. Wednesday I picked up the Bob’s Burgers Burger Book. As a fan of that show, I’m happy that I can now make the burgers that Bob makes on the show. They do look delicious. Also I love anything with H. Jon Benjamin in it. Can’t wait to make my own Foot Feta-ish Burger. Hahaha. Also I got Hyrule Warriors 3DS this week. I have the NEW model of the Nintendo 3DS XL, so I’m hoping it will run well. I only wish Nintendo called The NEW 3DS the 3DS Mk.2. It gets confusing. When I tell my friends that I own a NEW 3DS, they think I just brought it. Then I have to say, “No. It’s the ‘NEW’ 3DS. The NEW model.” Like I said, confusing.

Hungry Pikachu

Upon hearing that Pokemon is now 20 years old, (Don’t forget! Sonic’s turning 25 this year too!) I got the urge to draw Pikachu. So here’s my take on Pikachu with an apple. The little guy loves his apples. I have not played Pokemon much since I was a teenager. I AM thinking of buying the Pokemon fighting game for Wii U. It looks cool. As for Pokemon, I leave it to the younger gamers, who actually have time to play the games. HAHA! Unlike Capcom, I have faith in the next generation. I think the next generation can create something just as good as the classics. But that’s a conversation for another day. Happy 20th, Pokemon and Pikachu! Selfie 2016

I decided to draw…myself! Drawing oneself is hard. But I’m very happy with this drawing. Here I am, on a Friday chowing down on a cheeseburger and root beer. Even though it’s Lent, I eat meat anyway. Remember friends, The only power religion has over you is the power you give it. I’m also playing some Blackjack on my Android phone. I LOVE Blackjack, slots and Five Card Poker. It’s my dream to one day play Blackjack in a real casino. Also I’m wearing sports tape. Yes, really. Just like Sonic does in Sonic Boom. I think it looks cool. Anyway, it’s me. Mighty Henshin Viewtiful Joe

Once upon a time, there was a man. A man named Hideki Kamiya. He created a video game with the help of Team Viewtiful at Clover Studios. It was a breathtaking game, a game that lived up to the title of “Interactive Movie.” Because it took place in the world of the movies. A world where YOU control the movie. You played as an average Joe, who wandered into the world of the movies. And now he fights to save his girlfriend. Powered by a V-Watch, Joe becomes a superhero welding the power of the movie special effects on his side.

Somewhere in the world, there is a high school kid. This kid played this game. And something happened. He played this game and the world changed. He began to draw the characters. All the time. He started by doodling Joe and friends in his notebook. Soon doodles evolved into full works. Time passes and he begins his path to becoming an artist. Yes that kid is me, and to make a long story short, this game is why I’m here today.

Viewtiful Joe is THE reason I’m an artist in the first place. Sure, I doodled a lot before playing VJ, but I never thought that I would be a real artist. Once I played the game, something clicked in my head. A creative switch turned on in my head. All the sudden, Sonic the Hedgehog and Dragon Ball Z weren’t enough. For the next two and a half years my every breath was "Viewtiful Joe" and if I didn't play the games at least an hour a day, I would go into shock. It got to the point that I nearly failed my High School Math class, all because I was too busy drawing to care about math. My parents actually though something was wrong with me.

It’s been YEARS since I have drawn Joe. Out of the (Captain) Blue I decided to draw him again. I mostly stopped drawing him and his pals when Clover Studios got shut down. Sure I was happy when I learned of Clover reforming under Platinum Games, even if it meant no more Viewtiful Joe.

But don’t cry friends, for Viewtiful Joe became the God of Good within Platinum Games, albeit a somewhat silly one. And I don’t just say that because Joe’s creator Kamiya-senpai works there. Think about it. Everything that the fans call good within Platinum began with Viewtiful Joe. Bayonetta’s Witch Time, Metal Gear Raiden’s Blade Mode, and The Wonderful 101’s Hero Time? All inspired by Joe’s Slow power. The Wonderful 101? The idea of being a superhero like Joe but this time, as part of an army of superheroes. Wonder Red fights with his fists, somewhat like Joe. Wonder Blue uses a sword like Alastor, Joe’s rival. Wonder Pink is, in canon, friends with Silvia, Joe’s girlfriend. At one point of her first game, Bayonetta yelled “Dancing a Go Go Baby!” a take on Joe’s “Henshin a Go Go Baby!” And that’s just off the top of my head. Thus all that's good with Platinum are the descendants of Viewtiful Joe. Man, I sound like a hippie talking about stuff like that. Whatever. Created with paper, black marker and color pencils.

New Year New Things New Danger

Hey guys, Prescott here. As 2015 draws to a close, I have decided on a few things here and there.

First I’m going to start drawing in a new style. I have pushed my old style as far as I can go with it and want to try something new. So I will be drawing in a semi-realism style. I will still draw cartoony stuff from time to time, but my new style is here to stay.

The second thing is that my Splatoon fan tumblr, Splatoon War Room has done very VERY well. I’m grateful for everyone who follows it. From the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone following Splatoon War Room.

I have decided to reboot Piper’s story. It’s a soft reboot, though. I’m writing a new story for Piper that will tell about her origins, her life and most of all her future. I must warn you now, the story is edger that anything I have done so far. I feel that for Piper to stand out, she needs a bit of an edge. A hot edge. Here’s a hint: One of the inspirations for Piper’s new story is Budd Root’s Cavewoman, a comic book about a sexy babe wearing only a snakeskin bikini fighting dinosaurs. She often loses her bikini and has to run around naked, just like Piper. Good times.

I know it’s not coming until at least 2017, but the game I’m hyped for the most is Freedom Planet 2. I’m dying to see Lilac and pals’ new adventure. Lilac is my favorite character from the first game. It helps she’s a dragon. I’m a dragon too. We would have lots to talk about.

Also coming in February, it’s the most horrible time of the year, LENT. I HATE HATE HATE HATE Lent. It’s when the Church goes into Hypermode and takes control of the world. And I also hate church. Not Church’s Fried Chicken, though. Their chicken is good. I think they should abolish Lent and do Manfest instead. Manfest is an idea of mine. It’s the celebration of being manly. We would do things like eat tons of meat, watch things explode and look at hot women. We could do Manfest here on Arikado Corp Blog. We’ll see.

Christmas 2015

Seasoned Greets to all of you. Here’s my Christmas card for the year. That’s my parents’ cat Miss Kitty in the drawing. She’s bringing presents to all the good cats and dogs.
