I don't understand why "Adrian doesn't like Grace at first" is as popular as it is on fanfics.
Imagine for a second you are Adrian surname The Eridian. Your spouse has been missing and presumed dead for around a decade, and suddenly one day an alien spaceship comes into orbit. And you cheer "Yay alien species have realized we have the same problem and have come to either give us a solution or join or efforts, too bad my mate is still gone."
Except he is not actually gone, because the eridian equivalent of a carebear decided to save them. And he doesn't want anything in return, in fact he is well aware that he might die A PAINFUL SLOW DEATH, shortly after fighting just to get the love of your life back to you. But it's ok :) because Rocky (yes he gave them a silly name) is my best friend! Oh- Are you ok-
mopple shows love by telling comforting lies for his friends and making himself a shoulder to cry on even when the other sheep don’t even remember what they’re upset about. every so often, a little truth slips through and he has to scramble to cover it up. eventually, his lies fall apart and he has to admit to the isolation that acting this way has caused him. (“you’ve carried this alone all this time?” “yes.”)
sebastian shows love by making his friends confront uncomfortable truths and forces them to keep their memories of george. all the while claiming that he’s separate from the flock, not acting as a source of comfort at all. yet, every so often, this facade is chipped at and he reveals he’s much kinder and willing to give grace than first appears. then the scene with the dogs forces him to drop his pretences and admit to his attachment to lily and mopple (“why did you come back?” “you’re my flock.”)
equal opposites with lily in the middle impressing them with her smarts, while also learning Deeper Truths from both. you get what i’m saying here???
HE HAD NO FLOCK AND HE WAS RESCUED FROM A CARNIVAL WHERE HE HAD TO FIGHT DOGS AND THEN HE FOUGHT OFF THE DOGS TO PROTECT HIS FLOCK AND IM THROWING UP ABOUT IT
my favourite joke in The Sheep Detectives is that there's neon signs everywhere in Denbrook, including the police station, and you don't really think about it until you see the neon sign that offers a discount on neon signs

OKAY I CANNOT SHUT UP ABOUT THE BACKROOMS HERES MY INTERPRETATION + THEORY
Spoilers for the movie PLEASE WATCH IT
So while watching the movie I noticed how the main thing the objects and entities have in common is that they are trauma related
My take on it (personally calling it the trauma theory bc I’m corny like that) is that the backrooms remembers places and items involved in traumatic events, and I feel like we see this when Mary curls up in the corner as a child and we see the rooms slowly get more and more distorted
Another thing I want to point out is that although Clark, Bobby, and kat enter together the backrooms when kat and Clark “find” eachother kat describes the room as a double mirror like place saying there’s no door and warns him about the creature behind him, meaning that each person is taken to a different room if alone which is why the scientists cannot properly understand the backrooms or map it out but Clark was able to (and plus also bc he likes architecture)
The monster that we see in the dinner scene (the one that looks like Clark) and the other entities remind me of silent hill monsters in the sense that they are (loosely based on the ending) manifestations of the people who experienced the traumatic events in the room the backrooms represents
The main monster (again the one that looks like Clark) to me is sorta like pyramid head as he snaps at Clark when Clark is says
“It’s okay we are wired that way”
So I want to think the monster is a manifestation of the way Clark feels/sees himself which explains why it went after Mary after ending Clark
While the other 3 entities we see in the “dinner” scene I wanna think are people who are victims of some sort of abuse which explains why they aren’t really hostile and let Clark manhandle them
This is mainly because the female entity (scalp lady) runs before the Clark entity enters the room and cries out trying to find a way out while the one in the wheelchair frantically messes with the lights as it’s the only thing it’s capable of doing
Which why I think at the end we see a entity who looks exactly like Mary it means that the experience was so traumatic (because she almost died and lost the only thing that was part of her old home) that she created her own entity
Like in a way the backrooms themselves are the manifestation of not being able to let go to certain memories which is why things are so distorted yet familiar bc it’s your own memories but used against you in order to trap you further
Me the first half of The Backrooms: "oh I get it. He's a down on his luck failed architect and even more failed furniture store owner who's trying to better himself. He'll probably be fascinated with the furniture/architecture of the backrooms and start selling the items there for money + notoriety. And eventually he'll go deeper and deeper to get more and more items until he gets trapped and encounters The Horrors. A classic tale of hubris :) "
I bet Grace's ejection from earth would become like an Eridian horror story. They forced him to sleep. They held him down and made him go to sleep so he would stop fighting. They kept him vulnerable and put him into a dangerous situation with other sleeping, vulnerable humans with no one to watch over them.
And 2 of them DIED! While they were asleep with no one to watch over them!!
Like they probably already thought Rocky's journey was the stuff of nightmares (alone for decades with no one to watch him sleep) but Grace's story would probably be so terrifying to them. Coupled by the relative ease with which he talks of it. He accidentally mentions it to his class and gets several concerned and angry messages from Eridian parents about him telling horror stories to their children instead of teaching Human Science lol
I took my teenager to see Romeo and Juliet 1996 in the theater for its 30th anniversary and he pointed out that the Montagues are always wearing shirts open in the front with their arms covered and chest out and the Capulets are always wearing sleeveless shirts with their chests covered and arms out.
So if you put the Montagues and Capulets together you get one whole shirt.
