More sleeping beauty art studies (I did instead of my Uni assignments, woopsie)

Disneys Sleeping beauty art study with my OCs:
And the scene from the movie I used as reference:
when i see the “aimeric lives” tag on the ao3 fic
I find it so interesting how the fandom perceives aimeric. When I first read capri, I never felt as though aimeric was a villain. To me, he has always been a victim of his father and the regent, a boy who did what he had to because, yes he believed it was right, but also it was the only thing he knew. And while yes, a victim can become an abuser and just because you had a sad past doesn’t excuse the bad things you’ve done, I truly think that had he not died, he could’ve had a redemption.
It was a shock when I started consuming more capri fancontent and saw how many people disliked him, or saw him as evil, the way guion or govart are. To me, he has always been this misguided boy who needed help but could’ve turned a new leaf and could’ve been a great ally if someone had managed to pull him away from the cruel men influencing him, but I guess many just see him as an irredeemable instrument of the regent.
I’m totally with you op, aimeric defender all the way, that boy deserved better fr
Can’t have shit in this house… does anyone have art where Damen’s 6’5 (I assume?) ass is sat in Laurent’s lap
If Laurent had held a little bit less contempt for Damen, enough to stomach touching him, I believe he would’ve made him sit on his lap at some point to intimidate the court at Arles and absolutely vex big strong Damen
i know there are a few other instances where it's made clear that laurent is not a teensy tiny flimsy little femboy but like . are these not the words of a small darling man. they are. laurent is 5'8" tops to me
I feel like I have no room to speak here since I’m 5‘3‘‘ (or 161 cm for sane ppl) but isnt 5‘8 average?? Idk, whenever I imagine an ‚average height man‘ I think of something around the 175 cm range (which I believe is 5‘8ish, but I’m too lazy to look it up). Cuz if not that, what else would be? 6‘? Then why are all the girlies struggling to find their 6‘ men?
it’s funny cuz I always imagined Laurent in the +/- 175 cm range percisely because it’s average height to me, so seeing someone say the same height headcanon bc they think he is short was very bizarre to say the least.
H,llo what the fuck do you mean "one of the reapers has adidas shoes" how did i miss that????
It’s one of the German grim reapers, Ludger? I think is his name? we see him towards the end of the emerald witch arc. Here is a pic from the manga (it’s the first I found on google that showed his shoes). I’m not overly familiar with Victorian men’s shoes, but these sure do look like modern sports shoes to me
Nowadays we still associate scythes with grim reapers, but forget the original cultural context: scythes being a familiar farming tool that most people had at home, a mundane domestic object, elevated into a poignant symbol of the harvest and the cyclic nature of time. and a fitting symbol, because death also is as mundane, familiar, and reliable as the changing of the seasons.
my point being: a modernized grim reaper would be best portrayed as a skeleton carrying a leaf blower
You laugh, but this is the plot of black butler
Currently rewatching the legend of Korra, I’m only 5 episodes in but FORGET AIRBENDING TENZIN, GET THIS GIRL SOME MEDIA TRAINING, JESUS CHRIST!!
As we all know, Vere is inspired by France and Akielos is inspired by Ancient Greece. What about the other countries, do we know what they are based on? I always saw Vask as Russian (idk something abt the word vask) and for some reason I saw Kempt as either German or Skandinavian. As for Patras, no fucking clue. Do we know? What were y’all’s assumptions on the other nations, I’m really curious.
I do have to admit that Berenger is my head sounds like burgener (I’m dyslexic) so I kept thinking that this was the guy Ancel fell in love with in Pet
honestly, whenever I think of berenger I imagine some guy in his 40s (ToT) I don’t even remember if his age was ever said, just his description makes him seem so… old. I really really need some good art/fanart of him, this can’t go on like this
shout out to deer girls, deer boys, and deer therians and sonas in general. deers are so pretty
“US states are much more diverse than European countries, west coast English and east coast English are basically different languages”
IF THATS HOW THAT WORKS, MAY I INTRODUCE THE CONTINENT OF GERMANY AND ITS MULTITUDE OF COUNTRIES!
Don’t mind me, just imagining the day when their new palace on the border is finally built.
When the battlefield has become farmland and pastures for grazing herds and the city has become the center of their new kingdom’s commerce.
When the old fort is little more than a symbol, lightly garrisoned, and the streets are filled with people who, for the first time in their lives, know the peace of just living and not having their lands constantly razed and claimed by one king or another.
When Damen and Laurent can stand at the balcony and look over it all together, from the coast to the fields, and know that they did this together and the horrors of Arles and Ios are behind them at last.
And Laurent turns to Damen with a strange look on his face.
What is it? Damen says.
Laurent laughs. Seven years, he says. I have now… loved you for longer than I’ve hated you. Isn’t that strange, lover?
And Damen smiles and takes Laurent’s hand, the soft clink of their matching shackles drowned out by the sounds of their kingdom flourishing.
"I have loved you for longer than I've hated you."
Dude.
And the Auguste counterpart of "I've mourned him longer than I've known him."
I'm gonna be sick, goodbye
Damen being down bad 👀 inspired by that one statue (and that one infinity nikki outfit lol)
i love hearing about the declining birth rate like yesss that is a major problem considering our dominant economic model. a problem i plan on contributing to 👍 joining the war on declining birth rates on the side of declining birth rates
I understand that lower birth rates and a top heavy population pyramid is bad for the economy and social structures yadayadayada, but at the same time, we *are* an overpopulated species. How are we gonna fix overpopulation if not through stopping the exponential growth of our species. And just letting us grow unchecked is gonna bring so many more problems. So it’s not like joining on the side of declining birth rates is *that* bad of an idea…
