It took 36 years for someone to make this joke and by god it was worth the wait
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
You know what? I changed my mind.. I'll let them cook. I was delusional for years, I can be delusional a few more days (if they burn the fucking food.. )

And I am starting to think that part of the problem is how long it took them to make this show. They let things sit too long, let us infer too much, and in the end we just wrote a better story than what they were capable of.
So we've already seen where Joyce has to come to grips with the fact that Will isn't little and helpless anymore; she has to make peace with him engaging in the fight. In episode 2, Robin and Will realize that his sixth sense when it comes to Vecna could be very useful here, and Robin empowers him to trust himself and take a chance, despite Joyce's protests that it's too dangerous. This is other people (people that aren't Mike) seeing Will for someone with way more to contribute than he's been allowed to.
And now that he can control the hivemind, it's undeniable how much of an asset he is. He's a crucial element of defeating Vecna, and I think the others will see that.
That being said, Will's powers put him in serious danger; I know there are conflicting theories on whether Vecna awakened his powers intentionally, but I think my point stands regardless. He's in danger. But, as we saw in those earlier scenes with Robin, and in episode 4, Will isn't going to let himself be sidelined anymore. He's an active participant in his own life, finally, and if he can do anything at all to protect his friends/family I think he'll do it.
I think this is going to be a big part of byler development. Mike's already been through exactly this, actually, when everybody around him wanted El to fight in season 3, the I can't lose her again scene.
He's already lost Will, countless times. But Will's ready to fight back, and just like Joyce, just like with El, Mike is going to grapple with the thought of losing him again. Which I'm expecting to be a huge emotional five course byler meal, and I'm so ready for it

Hey! Just, thought I’d let y’all know I’m writing a TMNT fanfiction. And I’ve been working pretty hard on it, so, I figured why not blast some links all over the web?
I’m keeping it updated on both ff.net and ao3, in case you prefer one over the other.
So. Just. You know. If you wanted to check it out, that’d be sweet c:
I drew that left picture in 10th grade, three years ago now.
I redrew it a couple days ago.
I think I’ve gotten a little bit better :)
