Now that Iāve seen a lot more discussion about how vampires canāt make art anymore because they donāt have human soul to create, let me share my biggest theory/want of S3 before it comes out:
How is Daniel going to handle not being able to write anymore?
His whole thing is that he could always keep a job and he could always write, heās won Pulitzer Prizes, all heās had is his ability to write. How do you live the rest of eternity now unable to do the one thing you could always trust yourself to do?
Like of course he still can write, he finished the book, but people said it was bad and we all were meant to think thatās because no one believes him, but I think it might be that itās objectively poorly written, and we do see him looking for approval from Louis if he liked the book, and it might be because he wants to see if his work is the same as it was before turning.
Iāve always thought Daniel up until this point was meant to be a vessel for the writers and the audience to express their perspective and I thought maybe that would end in S3, or at least heād become more of a character than a vessel now that heās a vampire, and while I do think thatās still true, I wonder if heāll also be an outlet for the writers to express their fears about losing their ability to write or even their fears that they already have lost it, which I think many if not all writers can relate to.
The crash out on Danielās part if this is the case would be extraordinary and absolutely something Iād want to see because of how heart wrenching the performance would be, because who are you now that youāve lost the one thing you always knew you were?
