I’m done with amatonormativity in schools, oh my god it’s driving me mad. The looks of pity my teachers give me when I mention that I don’t want to be in a relationship.When they tell me that I’ll grow out of it, that I’ll find the right person later along the road. I give up explaining to them that, THAT is not what I want. I want to live in an apartment with my friends and my cats. I want to live a full life, and that doesn’t mean with a spouse or children. And for anyone in the notes saying this poll was skewed or faked: my 20+ year old local LGBTQ+ center is openly ace-inclusive on their website, there are asexual and aromantic flags in their main room, and all of the people I’ve met there so far are inclusionists, including the 40+ year old queer lady. GLAAD and Trevor Project are two examples of well-known LGBT+ organizations that include ace people. Y’all have gotta be living in a hobbit hole if you think exclusionists are the majority.
