someone is upset with me right now and i have to be ok with that. they are going through a tough time and are probably just taking it out on me. i had to bring up sensitive topics and tried to be professional but obviously touched a nerve i didn't think would be there. someone upset with me is not the end of the world. there were other factors which played into this situation that i did not know of and could not fix. trying your best actually does matter even if it doesn't always work out.

Hi! Now that you mention it I'll be sure to add the pattern into the replies, but it's the 'Classic Cotton Aran' in The Traditional Sweater Book by Madeline Weston (available here https://archive.org/details/traditionalsweat0000west/mode/1up) although I made some adjustments like removing the arm hole shaping. Definitely will share once I'm done!

major progress! also despite having 24 rows in the pattern it's really only 12 distinct ones so those were easy to memorize

i always knit flat and block the back piece first -this lets me more accurately measure how the finished garment is going to sit and gives me the advantage that i can just measure how long the sleeves need to end up

blocking as i go also means i'm taking up less space on my blocking mats (a towel in the middle of my bedroom carpet lol)

doing both sleeves at once -it keeps me honest. however i'm slowly coming to the realization that i may not win this current round of yarn chicken and the hank i would need to buy to finish this is big. oh well, that just means using it in a new project
