People get really philosophically incensed about it but I honestly really don't mind "consuming content/media" that much as a phrase... There's really no handy way to refer to "watching a movie and/or watching a show and/or reading a book and/or playing a video game" etc etc etc. all at once and every alternative I've seen people suggest has been corny as hell. I certainly won't call it "experiencing art".

I'm gonna need people who eat meat to stop coping and just say that you like eating meat and you're not going to stop because you don't want to. It's literally fine and it's way less embarrassing than the hoops some of you are trying to jump through to act like eating meat is the moral high ground

Oh, handsome. you lived a really long time for a cat so I know it wasn't tragic. I became at peace with it this morning, I think you told me it was fine. You were at peace all day, you gave me one last good day just like I wanted. You helped raise me like an older brother even though I'm technically older. Although you made it to 19 which makes you of course a very distinguished old man. You were always you. You were the perfect cat. I'm glad you passed at home and that the vet was so good. You'll sleep in your yard forever. One day far away I'll meet you there.

Stream of consciousness about my cat below, to get it down somewhere. CW impending pet death.

I think we're getting in home euthanasia for the cat tomorrow. We got him in 2006 so he's either about 19 or 20. Younger than me obviously but I was little enough when we got him I don't really remember not having him. His name is Milo. All my mom's cats have had m names. I'm living at my parents' home for easy commute to my summer job right now, and I guess I just feel so lucky to have been with him in his final months. He's been super clingy for the last year, year and a half but he started hiding on Thursday. I got home from a 9 hour workday and I thought he'd be gone within the hour when I found him but he lived two nights now. He doesn't seem to be in any great distress but I don't know how lucid he is. He still likes being pet, and he was refusing food on Wednesday but started eating just wet food again on Thursday night and has since eaten everything we've given him. He tries to drink water but he can't seem to get much. He is still peeing but hasn't defecated since Wednesday, and that was outside the litter box. We got him out a smaller litter box within easy walking distance for where he prefers to be right now, and he will use that for urinating. He is such a good cat. He is having mechanical problems, including seemingly with his mouth. But last night he had such a bounce in his step for all of three minutes as he walked around. He has always been an extremely loud cat but he hasn't made more than a little startled noise (last night) since, maybe Tuesday? Or was that Monday? Sometimes he is all hunched up and sometimes he is stretched out and sometimes he is loafing loosely. The last two are normal for him. I miss his meow. I slept on the floor next to him for both nights. He keeps taking the dog's beds. She just walks over and sniffs him so gently. I know she loves him even though he has not been totally friendly to her. We think we're going to bury him in the yard, no cremation. We don't think he should leave the property. We have to make sure the other animals know he is dead first. I took off work yesterday and I was supposed to go to Maryland with people from work but stayed home from that too. It still feels sort of like Thursday but also Sunday. Welding training cancelled for the AQI anyways. If we euthanize him tomorrow I don't know how I'm supposed to go into work Monday. But I can't miss welding like that. He loves his yard so much. We would go out with him and watch him. He had several bed spots by big windows. Loved to watch out the windows. We knew it was coming but this felt so sudden. He was so happy and normal just the beginning of this week. Now he seems sort of lethargic but at least calm. I thought he was having an arthritis flare because he started sitting weirdly so we set up a heated bed for him and he loved that. I think that was Tuesday? Or Wednesday.

I hope he feels all our love and knows it is okay to go whenever he needs to. I hope he's not scared or too confused. Recent photo below, from last two days. This is when he was looking particularly okay.

He's never really been an object loving cat. I don't know if we should just bury him with the blanket he's loved the last few months? Somewhere there is a stuffed kitten he used to cart around by the scruff when he was younger and then just sit down and lick it. I don't know where it is. Wish I could bury him with it. I don't think we can take the beds because the younger cat will need them. When I would come home during the semester or from trips he would meow so loudly to see me. Marshal is almost entirely silent. I don't know what I'll do when I come home and there is no Milo. He used to wander around during house parties because he had no fear of strangers. Just liked to be admired and pet. I knew it would be this year but I didn't think it'd be this week. I'm glad I'm here with him.

Hon. No. Crackship doesn't just mean "not canon". It's difficult to imagine two people who spend significant canon time together as a crackship. Crackship is when you write Galactus getting fucked by Tony the Tiger.

The notes are starting to be all, "Yeah, crackship means there's no chemistry! Even canon ships can be crackships!" and I must STRENUOUSLY disagree.

A crackship isn't just any ship that makes you go, "Eh, I don't see it." A crackship is absolutely WILD in concept. A crackship is the one that makes your friends look at you with the beginnings of existential horror. It's the one where they wave a circle round you thrice and close their eyes in holy dread, for you on honeydew hath fed and drunk the milk of paradise.
