PSA: nobody has canon evidence that Eris is evil or abusive. You are basing everything off Mor’s words, when we know that she lies and withholds the truth constantly.
Eris even says right to her face that she has been fed lies about him when she accuses him of wanting a young bride to torture. Then he tells the IC to ask Mor what actually happened that day because she isn’t telling the whole story.
Yes, he left her in the woods. He was NOT the one that hurt her though. He left her so that someone from the IC could come get her and take her back to the NC instead of her being trapped with him. He did her a favor.
He did NOT help Beron and his brothers kill Jesminda. He was tortured by Beron for disobedience for it.
He is tortured regularly by Beron, and Beron even uses faebane to keep the wounds from healing.
He is the ONLY one who tries to keep Beron and his brothers in line.
He is the ONLY one who tries to protect his mother and puts her safety first.
I also theorize that he looks out for Lucien. (Yes this is a headcanon, don’t come at me).
Point is, you’re welcome to love Cassian all you want. But acting like Eris is this evil snake when we have no proof of him doing anything evil at all is kinda ridiculous imo.
It’s almost like some fans lack the ability to actually interpret the text for themselves and form their own opinions about characters. Cassian and Mor say he’s evil, so it must be true! Even though the facts say otherwise.
