Sorry if it confuses you… but I work in diverse styles to keep myself engaged and motivated in the creative process. So now I started a tiger series and this one is 36x36 inches, acrylic on panel. Tiger is the national animal of India and I was introduced to this majestic animal through religious pictures, mythology, school books and folk tales as a kid before I could catch a glimpse in the zoo for real. In 6th grade I won a quiz contest by WWF and they sent me a tiger poster that stayed on the wall in my room for many years. Much later in my 30s I learnt my vedic astro ascendant is Leo. In school I was so fascinated with tigers I made numerous drawings but stopped painting them as I grew up and started painting human figures and portraits and abstracts. A tribute sketch. This great Indian actor Irfaan Khan died yesterday of a rare colon cancer. He was 54 and did some stellar stuff in movies like Pan singh tomar, Maqbool, Hindi Medium, Life of Pi, Life in a metro, to name a few. Happy to paint this mobile mural for @kotisstreetart. The mural is based on Marty Kotis’s concept of superheroes wearing masks and fighting off covid-19. The superheroes represent the healthcare workers, the frontliners in this battle against coronavirus across the world. The truck cabin is 24ftx7. Ft , and painted with spray paint and markers. Thanks to Keif, Hector and his team for all the help and priming the truck. Thanks for great photography by Peggy Brutcher. The other side of the truck is being painted by Jenna Rice who came up with the concept of ‘heroes behind the mask’ by painting a photoreal portrait of a nurse. She is supporting the project by Maury Kennedy to feed the frontliners. In December 2018, I started a practice of a daily morning sketch and went on till 100 days. It fuelled my creative discipline. It was a success and I got a lot of appreciation from viewers from near and faraway lands. I also sold some of those drawings.
