This is a guilty pleasure drawing bcos I just turned my brain off.

This is not the way I’d draw a field of flowers. What’s going on with the ring of light? Not even one☝️idea! Why are the bees so big? Mind your bzzness! I made this at work with the same boredom-driven mindlessness as is required to doodle during class. It sparked joy until abt the 30th flower.

Dissociation; Grounding

To his credit, it has taken the Inquisitor this long to reach his limit. The Well of Sorrows has had this unforseen effect - the final straw, though whether the credit goes to the generations whispering in his ear, or the goddess Mythal’s dormant grasp on his will is unclear. Whatever the case, the Inquisitor is subject to episodes of absence, wherein all that can capture his attention are unheard voices.

These episodes are the most concerning of several behaviors which less generous mouths might describe as erratic. With increasing frequency, he answers when no one speaks, drifts mid-sentence, and- if you’ll excuse the oddity, I believe he is more easily amused as a direct consequence of his fraying mind.

Puzzingly, he himself claims the voices are becoming easier to manage and understand.

I await with some dread the day our resident Altus departs for his homeland, as I believe Dorian’s presence and comfort has been a balm on some of the worst of the Inquisitor’s agonies.

I will watch him keenly.

Ohhhh ok. Lowkey you might be right, I wasn’t color dropping & only had a reference pulled up when I did the facial features & tattoos. I’ll go investigate.

-> Ok, I just did a quick comparison w the graphic novel & it looks good? Only off by 3% max.

(^+the reference I was glancing at 4 facial features— but the lighting is cloudy/moody vs my unlit piece.)

Following this line of questioning, I googled it & learned: 1, his skin tone is inconsistent across the game/ graphic novels/merch/official art. 2, fans (mostly going off the game) interpret his skin color differently. I think part of it is that skin is so bronzey in DA2, especially his– both light and shadow seem to hit it harder. I mean just look at his facial highlights here.

That being said, I personally interpreted it as a warm-toned tan color. Going for that, I went back & added a multiply + saturation layer and I like it better now.
