Yokohama born Hina Aoyama who is currently living in France, creates highly detailed artworks by masterfully cutting layers and pleats on pleats of paper and turning them into beautiful pieces of work that are both delicate and intricate. The delicacy of her work can be seen in the creation of a small butterfly and the level of detail in each and every creation of hers is unbelievable. Aoyama says “I don’t follow traditional, but I am trying to create a mixture of the traditional and modern styles and to produce my own world through this super fine, lacy-paper-cuttings technique.”
