Reblogging because, cool.
Favorite YA Book Cover of 2016 so far.
Kiera Cass’s The Siren cover in watercolor.
Kiera Cass’s The Crown cover in watercolor.
Rose Hathaway from Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead.
My watercolor painting of Meira from Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch. I’m not sure what exactly the Winterians wear, so I did my own interpretation.
Mare from Red Queen by Victoria Avyard
(some part are slightly blurry because paper warped and scanning bed picks it up)
THE ALLEGIANT TRAILER IS HERE!
REPEAT: THE ALLEGIANT TRAILER IS HERE!
Watercolor painting I made of the Incarnate cover.
Painting of The Heir cover. Book by Kiera Cass.
Michael Phillips’s review of Insurgent Movie in the Chicago Tribune this morning. I live 35 miles west of downtown Chicago, so yes I get the Trib. Last year Michael reviewed Divergent and said some negative things about it. He seems to enjoy The Hunger Games movies though.
His review has some humor: “I knew St. Patrick’s Day dye wasn’t safe!” and “Chicago, centuries hence, when things are rotten, but there’s plenty of free parking. At last.”
I’m going to see the movie today. I’m sure I’ll give it 4 stars.
The ICE LIKE FIRE cover was revealed on our blog today! Read the Q&A with the designer and artist behind this beautiful sequel to SNOW LIKE ASHES by sararaasch!
Interesting typography on Young Adult book covers.

So she has brown or auburn hair, not reddish-blonde like I though? Oh well. Beautiful cover. Kind of similar to the colors on the Jewel cover.
I was right about her holding the crown in her hand though!!!!
My idea for the cover of The Heir is that it has both twins on the cover. I picture the girl twin with a hair color in-between America's and Maxon's, or strawberry blond, and the boy twin with auburn hair. I decided on a plum purple dress with gold accents because it's a old contrast with red or blond hair. Since we have no idea what the twins look like or what their names are I did my best with this. I also love painting in water color. I rather not steal photos or even stock images for my entry. I did implement the title, however.
We are SO excited about the brand new Ally Carter series Embassy Row! Book 1, All Fall Down, will be available January 27, 2015! To tide you over until then, here are the first TWO chapters!
About All Fall Down:
Grace Blakely is absolutely certain of three things:
1. She is not crazy.
