Presenting: My Captain Underpants “Lives of AU” on Tumblr! (Part 1)

Here’s the characters!

Harold: A fun-loving creative boy with too much trauma to unpack in one fic.

George: The supportive and equally creative best friend who has his own problems.

Mr. Krupp: A passive-agressive repressed creative who became an elementary school principal before even knew it… and has mommy issues and several untreated mental illnesses, including D.I.D.

Captain Underpants (who will go by Cap): Krupp’s altar ego that gives him a way to show his care and affection for his students without fear of becoming a pushover. A result of hypnosis triggering Krupp’s D.I.D. he deals with harsh existentialism once he’s separated from Krupp.

Edith the Lunchlady: A shy lady with a passion for “cooking” who likes Krupp but… she has a secret.

Mr. Meaner: A man who walked into his position shy but soon became the most lively teacher, geniunely enjoying birthdays, school parties, and holidays as the keep him from feeling like he’s in the middle of a midlife crisis. Oh, and he likes to be an auctioneer on the side!

Grace Hutchins: Harold’s mother who was pushed by her husband’s drunken temper to divorce him and develops a broken psyche treated with terrible coping mechanisms which only begins to heal after Harold was traumatized by the creep at the gas station.

Herbert Hutchins: The black hearted loser who can’t even play in his own band, because no one likes a wife beater.. no one. But, who knows, maybe there’s an ounce of love in him.

Jerry “Senor” Citizen: The “spanish” teacher who learns spanish along with the students after faking his credentials out of desperation to get a job and stay off the streets after being kicked out of his family’s home.

Georgia and Gary Beard: George’s hard-working mother and father. Nuclear families are perfect, aren’t they…… aren’t they?

Hanahaki disease is a psychosomatic illness. It's a thing that your body does in response to stress over constantly repressing/concealing your feelings in settings with high background magic. It's like you've been ignoring pain for a long time and suddenly your vision starts going dark, because your affected body is just YANKING on random alerts trying to get you to PAY ATTENTION there is a PROBLEM. Yes the flowers do really exist. So do non-magical psychosomatic symptoms. The flowers aren't special.

This does of course open up the trope to options for non-romantic concealed feelings. Which I think is great. There is something viscerally satisfying about the person who seems so outwardly chipper coughing and hacking and spitting up Depression Flowers so now everyone has to know they're hurting. Isn't there?

QUICK RANT

I absolutely HATE how so many stim and fidget toys are seen as cringe and overconsumerist because of how folks acted over needohs, pop-it’s and fidget spinners a few years back. As someone with autism, ADHD, anxiety and all that fun stuff, stim toys can be genuinely great to have. Fidget cubes are my favorite but the ones I mentioned are also genuinely good fidgets. It’s just that the market and society’s general popular attitude of needing to follow trends (or just scalp the fuck out of them.) has ruined them for a lot of people and added wayyy more uncertainty stigma. And I’m sick of it.

And yes I’m posting this because I was just given a Needoh and I realized they have a great texture. They’re overhyped but for those who need fidgets, they do have a practical use.

Some Bubble=Abel stuff I started drawing before Episode 9 came out. Back when I thought Bubble would be the blue one. Guess I have to call this an AU now..?

…Or maybe this is just an excuse to draw Bubble with nothing more than eight arms, because while Caine made himself a human-like avatar to seem more approachable to the humans, Bubble doesn’t care about such trivial things. If he needs hands, there will only be hands. Why waste data making a useless body

I just realized Caine had trouble making cube shapes, which was mentioned before this. So he decides to make spherical or just other types of shapes instead. I feel like there’s some sort of deeper meaning to that or am I reaching?

Let’s just say, episode 9 changed my perspective of episode 5 and 6. It explains Ragatha’s behaviors towards Jax getting close with Pomni and she said “Jax is corrupting her”. I thought corrupting meant Pomni changing for bad, not literally

So she has been trying to protect her, to not let the history repeat

After all, she lost her friends because of JAX

Um, I thought it was pretty well established in fan spaces that Jax most likely caused Ribbit’s Abstraction? Since the creator constantly said he was such a piece of crap? And he reacted guiltily when Pomni accidentally said something that he took as an accusation? This came as a surprise to some people?

“Jax was trying to turn her into a bully” was the subject of 5, and it’s still a valid read on the accusation in 6.

Not wanting another bully around, esp given Gangle’s fragile mental health, is a perfectly valid reason to guard Pomni. Idk why somebody wouldn’t be sympathetic to this pre ep 9.

If anything she should’ve been leaning harder into it, but she has a difficult time speaking her mind. It’s totally valid to not want people to side with an abuser. Like. If she had had more of an arc, instead of defaulting to people-pleasing even in ep 8, this newly developed assertiveness on behalf of everybody’s safety would’ve been satisfying. If this was her fear- that Pomni would Abstract because of Jax, if this interpretation were accurate, she should’ve been WAY more adamant about it!!?! She /did/ tie up Jax in 3, so, in either case, for either motivation, why was she so hesitant to put her foot down otherwise? Hm.

Plus Jax is the one who maliciously made it into a contest implicitly at the bar, and used it against her- there was no reason they couldn’t both be friends with Pomni.
