Bat Before the Moon by Takahashi Biho (1910)
Iāve been meaning to make a masterpost with a list of books and articles for people interested in the Italian Renaissance - so, behold!Ā These are taken mostly from my own bookshelf, syllabi of classes Iāve taken, and bibliographies Iāve compiled for papers Iāve written.Ā Iāve tried to provide a broader overview of the Renaissance with more general topics, and not to give books that are too incredibly specific and not relevant unless youāre working specifically in topic.Ā Iāve also triedĀ to find PDFs or links for anything that you can access online.
I hope this is useful for anyone whoās interested in this period, and I will always be happy to answer questions or try to provide sources for more specific topics!

You study, you learn, but you guard the original naivete. It has to be within you, as desire for drink is within the drunkard or love is within the lover.

LaToya Ruby Frazier (born 1982) is an American artist and professor of photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.Ā Inspired by Gordon Parks, who promoted the camera as a weapon for social justice, Frazier uses her tight focus to make apparent the impact of systemic problems, from racism to deindustrialization to environmental degradation, on individual bodies, relationships and spaces.Ā In her work, Frazier is concerned with bringing to light these problems which she describes as global issues

A reminder, as weāre all processing and grieving. āThere is no right way to protestā. . Protest is simply standing up in your convictions as an inner duty. Itās opens a space that āevades controlā. āProtest extends an offer to anyone who is powerless, underprivileged, or marginalized to identify with it.ā Please donāt discredit peopleās protest WITHOUT trying to understand first. The pain is real. The hurt is real. Instead of critiquing, speak your truth in love that we may agree and move forward in unity.
