Always reblog this divine gif set.
“Why don’t you use ai” idk man beyond the obvious environmental and “this machine causes psychosis and encourages people to kill themselves” thing I think asking the equivalent of a solid D student who is also a pathological liar if they can answer my question/do the work for me seems pretty fucking stupid
not using AI genuinely feels like the rest of the world is experiencing some kind of mass amnesia. if someone says they never use it, the immediate response is that can't be true because "everyone" uses it to write their emails or answer their questions. saw a comment suggesting that not using chatgpt to write an essay is "like the 90s". girl I graduated in 2021 and we weren't doing that! how is it that everyone has suddenly forgotten that they were entirely capable of doing these things all by themselves for their entire lives up until the past few years!! am I going crazy!!!
knowing that the past tense of "hang" is "hanged" when it's a method of execution can be very entertaining because you'll be watching a horror movie and someone goes "local legend says a woman was hung in these woods" and you're like "👀 good for her I guess"
"Pictures and art get hung....people are hanged."
This has always been my mnemonic from my clever teacher since I learned this fact when I first began working as a teenager. I have been annoyed and quietly corrected every mistake I've observed in media since then. Thank you for knowing the difference.
I think we should all talk more about this look. She looks divine in it.

it's really funny how the entire world basically just blew the fuck up six short years ago and nobody wants to admit that that may have had some lasting consequences lmao
like so much of Everything today is premised on the idea that the earth-shattering catastrophe which happened within living memory of everyone older than a third grader has had no meaningful material or psychological effects on the general public and i don't think that's good, lol.
"(some of) the top-line economic indicators (sorta) recovered (in most places) so everything is fine and we don't need to talk about it" is not a sustainable framework for interfacing with reality
"why is everyone so angry and paranoid now?" "why is politics so dysfunctional now?" "why is [x] [y] and [z] now? blah blah blah"
2020:
Emma: I don't think it's ridiculous that I want us to be together forever. And get buried next to each other and that maybe a tree will grow between our graves and that two kids will have their first kiss under that tree. Does that sound ridiculous to you? Regina: Yes, it does. Why are the two kids kissing in a graveyard?

Something I've been thinking about since I've been rewatching OUAT, is that Henry is never afraid of Regina... even in season 1, when he fully believes that she is the Evil Queen, and he's read all about what she did in the Enchanted Forest, he's not afraid of her, to the point where he talks back to her and actively defies her on a regular basis
I would credit the showrunners with creating a show-not-tell narrative here, where you can assume from Henry's behaviour that Regina is a good mom, but that would be giving them WAY too much credit (especially because that wasn't the original direction they planned to take the show in)... i think they wrote Henry that way to show that he's a hero, going up against the Evil Queen, and he's not afraid because Emma is the savior and he knows she will break the curse and he'll be safe
But in reality, the story that I believe they told, unintentionally, is that Regina was always a good and loving mother to Henry, and he grew up feeling safe and knowing that she loved him and would never hurt him. The fact that he is willing to openly defy her and doesn't fear any repercussions is very telling
(putting the rest under a break, because this ended up being much longer than I originally had planned lol)
This is a lovely analysis and, as someone who grew up with a mother who had narcissistic issues and was emotionally neglectful and abusive, I can attest from the opposite side of this scenario that you make solid points. I related heavily to Regina during the entire arc with Cora anytime there was an interaction between them or a flashback involving her. I get where you're coming from here and think you are really on to something. I also love how Lana fiercely advocated behind the scenes for the fans of this show.
