Do my eyes deceive me?
The Whirling Ways of Stars That Pass || Abigail and Andrew
“Aw, c’mon now, Abigail,” Andrew said, feeling his heart begin to sink a little further into his chest. The heart he was convinced he didn’t actually have. “You’re good for a lot of things. Maybe you don’t see it, but I do,” He assured her. Andrew wished he could shoulder the things that weighed on her. He already spent his time in Hell, surely he could handle it better. His whole existence was based on tortures.
“Then the Greek History classes will learn about how Andrew Cosmos loved Abigail Golden so much that it quite literally killed him to see her get married to a mortal,” Andrew said, his joke eclipsed by the serious tone in his words. He sighed a little, grinning something bright and charming at her. “They tell me as much as they can, when Hades wasn’t too busy hogging their time,” Andrew explained. “No, I mean it. If you want me to come, I’ll come. I’d be happy to.”
Abby smiled softly at him. Whether he knew it or not, he always made her feel better. He could claim to be stone cold but she knew better. She had seen him smile. She remembers running around with him as children and not having a care in the world. He was like the big brother brother she could never have in Jared. “You’re cute.” She smiled at him, going to give him a hug.
“And how their love was forbidden for all the world to see.” She added, dramatically, laughing at the end. Part of her couldn’t help but think of what would have or could have happened between the two of them had things not gone the way the did. “I see.” Abby said, biting on her lip. “So, uh, just how much do you know?” She tried to play off light heatedly but she could feel her heart beat rise as she thought of hm finding out everything. “Really? I’d love to spend a day at the gym with you. Just say when you want to go.”
I did. It wasn’t so difficult.
That’s amazing. You’re very talented.
Mhm. Or at the very least my name in a heart.
You seem pretty confident I like you enough to put your name on my body.
You’re hardier than me, little one.
Had to be growing up with you lot.
The Whirling Ways of Stars That Pass || Abigail and Andrew
“And of course you no I can’t deny that,” Andrew chuckled. He wondered if Abigail actually knew how much truth was in everything that he said to her. Sure, it was easy to play it off with a smirk or a chuckle, but he meant everything. And he hated that. After all the time that had passed, he meant it.
“That, of course, is the greatest tragedy ever told,” He said, sighing longingly. “Not intentionally,” Andrew defended, grinning charmingly at her. “The Fates just don’t take no as an answer, which, I’m sure you understand,” He explained. “You want me to come?” He asked, furrowing his eyebrows. He knew that, even if he wanted to, he couldn’t deny her. “Sure, why not?”
“Nice to know it’s good for something.” Abby laughed. It was good to eel like she could smile these days and not have to fake it. Everything just seemed brighter and better now and she needed that. She had her friends and her family and a boy who loved her. It was amazing to finally feel the love she had been missing out on for so long.
“I know. We’ll be in there with our families one of these days.” She teased with a wink. “Of course.” She chuckled, before letting it fall. “Andrew?” She asked, a little more serious. “About the Fates... How much do they tell you?” She asked, wondering if he knew about her past and just why she making visits to the hospital every week. “I was just teasing. No one ever wants to come to the gym with me.” She pouted. “But you really don’t have to come if you don’t want to.”
Somewhere Along Familiar Ground || Erik / Abby
Erik was out for a run. It had been some time since he had actually ventured outside into the cooler weather conditions to enjoy his daily routine. But today seemed nice enough, and he needed it more than ever. He had been home, long enough to spend some quality time with his father. Erik realized he had been letting himself get too attached to Katerina. He was allowing her to weaken him. No son of Hans would be weak, that was for sure. He figured a run in the brisk air would help him regain focus within the Academy so he could achieve his set goals: to get Katerina to fall in love with him and marry him.
Erik was so focused on himself that he didn’t even realize the person running towards him, before the two of them tangled and tumbled to the ground on top of one another. “Shit, I’m so sorry,” he said quickly, hoping to get up and continue on before seeing the girl who lay beneath him, Abigail. “Fancy meeting you like this,” he chuckled softly, hovering above her for a moment longer, holding her eyes, before standing to help her up.
Abby had been working non stop with her father and Phil as best she could given they were miles apart from one another. She now had an intense training schedule. The Academy were good with her, given the nature of her goal. Everything Abby had dreamed off since she was a little girl was now coming true. From the days her father would use her as weights to now, where she was challenging him - it was all that was in her sights. Abby had always wanted to see the Olympics, go and experience it but so get to be the one competing? It was a dream come true.
Abby was running along, listening to her music that she totally misjudged where she going and found herself crashing into something - or someone for that matter - before going to the ground. Looking up she seen the face of her friend. “It’s okay, Erik. I’m the one who should be sorry.” She laughed, taking his hand to get her up. “In fairness, I think that’s your best shot at meet me these days.”
The Whirling Ways of Stars That Pass || Abigail and Andrew
“Oh, c’mon now Abigail. Do I look like the type that need be persuaded?” Andrew asked, chuckling. “I’m happy to see you. It’s been a while, hasn’t it?” He continued, motioning her into the kitchen. The place was almost eerily tidy, but Andrew had lived his “teenage messy days” centuries ago. Literally.
“You know, the usual,” Andrew smirked. “Causing mayhem, buying a bar, waiting around for you to realize that you’ve been in love with me all along,” He chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. “The usual. But what about you, Miss Future Gold Medalist?” Andrew asked. Of course he knew what she’d been up to without asking. The Fates still kept him updated, whether or not he wanted them to. “Training like crazy?”
“Sometimes. But if the coffee didn’t work I always had my smile to back me up.” She laughed, giving him a big cheesy grin. “It’s been far too long.” She said, looking over at him. Abby loved her time with Andrew. He was her best friend and she was so glad they had the past in the behind.
“Doesn’t surprise me. Oh, Andrew, you know you’ve always had my heart.” She grinned, holding her hand over her heart. Abby ran her hands through her hair as he called her that, feeling her cheeks going a light pink. “You been spying on me again?” She teased, knowing the Fates would have been his source. “You know me, always training. You should come with me one day.” She winked.
mommy what are the white lines on your arms?
They are mommys battle scars.
I got this!
Oh my Gods! That’s beautiful. You really designed that?
Why not? The alcohol is a great pain relief.
Think I can take the pain.
Okay, okay, touche. You could get it like just above your hip or something. So people would see it if you were in a bikini.
Your face just above my hip?
The Whirling Ways of Stars That Pass || Abigail and Andrew
With the soon-to-be coming of spring, Andrew was beginning to feel optimistic. Nicer days filled with Persephone and Andrew would make Demeter’s spirits high and (hopefully) rid the cold so dreadful that not even the Underworld would dare go. Andrew didn’t consider himself much of a cold-weather type of guy, which probably seemed ironic because he was quite literally born to the iciest heart in all of the galaxy. But ah, the irony was never lost on him.
At the knocking on the door, Andrew felt his spirits raise in the same way that they always had when she was around. Andrew chuckled at himself for being so—well—human. He reached for the door and swung it open, grinning his charming grin. “Well hello, Abigail. What a pleasant surprise. C’mon in,” He offered.
When Abby was around him, she felt so relaxed. Little they were little kids playing once more. It was nice to have that feeling again. She remembers the days when her biggest fear was Andrew finding out she had a crush on him, although it wasn’t hard to work out. After all this time, she was happy they could reunite as friends. If there was one person she needed; it was him.
“Ah, if I knew you were going to let me in so easy I wouldn’t have bought you this coffee to pursued you.” She teased, handing him the warm cup which she had in her hand before taking a drink from her own. She knew the weather was changing and coffee really wasn’t they were meant to be drinking anymore, but even on the hottest of days, Abby needed her fix. It was her only vice. “What’s been happening?” She asked, sitting on his sofa.
The Whirling Ways of Stars That Pass || Abigail and Andrew
Abby had been training a lot recently. Partly due to the fact she was now officially going to be representing Greece at 2016 but mostly because she had far too much on her mind. She tried to keep her busy; with planning the wedding and everything else but there were always those thoughts in the back of her mind. Was she really going to be good enough to fill the role Mikey wanted? She wanted a life with him but the idea of being a queen was starting to freak her out more and more. She knew it was just nerves leading up to it, but the weight of the responsibility was beginning to dawn on her.
After her therapy session, she drove back to campus, picking up two coffees and heading to see Andrew. She needed some distraction and there was nothing better than time with her best friend. The idea of speaking to doctors still wasn’t the best but she was coming around. In the early days Abby could have been through the whole session muttering less than five syllables. But now she found herself starting to like Dr Cohen and she knew that it was working. Getting to his door she ave it a knock. “Guess who?” She called, waiting for him to open.
