I hate you polyester. I hate you rayon. I hate you acrylic. I hate you “40% cotton 60% other material.” I hate you polypropylene. I hate you “pleather.” I hate you nylon. I hate you synthetics and synthetic blends.
I love you cotton. I love you linen. I love you silk. I love you hemp. I love you plant leather. I love you wool. I love you bamboo. I love you alpaca. I love you jute.
being a macroorganism is so stressful. i want to know what my cells are doing. I don’t like how unsupervised they are
Under sea ecosystems are bullshit.
Like imagine you're a little rabbit and you go to nibble on a tree sapling but as soon as you go to take a bite it takes off like a fucking helicopter and disappears over the horizon.
Then, before you can process what just happened, the entire patch of grass you were standing on turns out to be a fox who had turned itself inside out and you die.
are you okay do you need to talk about it
Look I'm just saying I'm glad I exist in a place and scale where the main form of getting dead is just something trying to make your blood fall out.
I couldn't handle being a crab. I would register a formal complaint but crabs can't write.
Bless the people who give you plants in washed-out ricotta cheese containers. Bless the ones who come to the plant swap with their houseplant cuttings and daylily divisions not knowing if what they have is even wanted (it is). Bless the gardeners who get something half-dead and suffering and plant it anyway, and bless the plot that took that seeming hopelessness and brought it back the following year.
Bless the gardeners and the people who dream of a bit of dirt to call their own.
Bless the community gardeners, the ones who transform spaces from derelict concrete to joyful noise of flowers and vegetables and trees. Bless the ones who walk the woods and forests and steward the land. Bless the people who set up and manage seed banks, the neighbors who tuck labeled packets into drawers for others to discover.
Bless the miracle of it all.
fuck you *dies and doesn’t rot*

Baby Xylaria polymorpha and... some kind of meadow mushroom cluster. It was huge and slimy and in someone's backyard so I didn't feel comfortable examining it too closely
