When should Simon and Grace meet?

On the way to Erid (like a year or less away)

Not long after arriving at Erid

A month or two after the biodome is built

A year or more has been spent in the biodome

I'm have trouble deciding when Grace and Simon meet so I wanted to leave it up to y'all!

Regardless Simon is starting out on the Hail Mary I've decided but depending on when really changes the scenario so propaganda under the cut :)

Simon is found on the way to Erid. Not as partial to this one personally but could do something interesting. Longer time for Simon and Grace to get to know each other before reaching Erid and Rocky will be more present than in most other scenarios. The Horrorsᵀᴹ would appear after Simon arrives for a little bit of added spice.

Just after arriving at Erid. Grace is becoming malnourished but regardless for both this and the previous option I would be upping the amount of food so Simon and Grace don't actually die but food is still a problem.

A minimum of a year has past since the biodome was built. Grace has just settled into his new home on Erid and Grace is comfortable but The Red Eyed God decides he's too comfortable so Simon appears to add some zest to his life.

A month or two after the biodome is built. Grace is still adjusting to living on Erid Simon's arrival would cause extra complications for Grace to deal with. Grace would be just recovering from malnutrition. The Horrorsᵀᴹ would start before appears Simon in this and the next scenario.

If anyone has any specific suggestions for any of these options I would love to hear them even if the poll closes by the time you see it, I'm a slow writer lol. I've been in a 5 year long creative writing slump I haven't written anything I a really long time so figuring anything out hurts my brain and suggestions really help! It is rambling time!

Not much to say on the Grace front really he's the same as in canon. But I decided to take a bit of a turn with Simon for the fic I'm writing. I decided to snatch him a bit before the end of the movie so he gets to keep his arm (woo) but he's still mutated for reasons I won't spoil lol. I decided to give him crow/raven wings because both are typically seen as bad omens but also the flock names are an added bonus (a murderer of crows/an unkindness of ravens) but ravens are also known in mythology to be observers and divine messengers which ties to Simon's name (listener) and other spoiler stuff for my fic. Ravens are also very intelligent so they were just a really obvious pick lol. But you might be wondering why I even decided to give Simon wings in the first place, which is understandable. The Eel always kinda reminded me of Leviathan the sea serpent/dragon (don't ask me why, it's just vibes) so I thought feathered wings might serve as a fun contrast to that. He does have gills and shit too btw.

I cannot believe how much the brainworms have gotten to me about BloodyMary. It's actually insane how obsessed with this ship I am. Like, I'm reading fanfics which I have never done before.
