Yeah, each roarball team is its own mafia group! Every mafia is divided by city, their city being their turf essentially. Roarball is a show of dominance; the better you are at the game, the more respect (or fear) you command, the NRA being a “friendly” competition to clarify who the best of the best is.

Jett and Mane are team captains, yes, of which tend to do most of the dirty work, but they’re not the leaders of their mafia groups.

The “mob boss” is the team owner, the one who makes all the big decisions and usually sticks to staying behind the scenes since being the center of attention like regular players can easily lead to big trouble and is generally considered a very ambitious and “frankly stupid” (as some would put it) career choice.

For the Thorns, the head honcho is Flo (later Modo after Flo sells and he inevitably gets the team, making him the first active player to be a team owner in NRA history)

The Magma owner is a soft spoken but dangerous gila monster known as Truce.
