i find it kinda funny how tall tennkun is in engirls. thought it would be even funnier if he was around ra*bits' height in his first year but had a massive growth spurt before he transferred

I spoke about it a littleeee bit about it already when I was coming up with the idea so a lot of things have been retconned, but the main idea of it is Rei is the next in line to his father's throne.
The sakuma family carries a lot of the same themes as it does in enstars, mostly the cult worshipping of vampires. Vampires are real entities in this au, btw.
While the sakuma family is the royal family in name and the public eye, Rei's father is pretty much a false ruler. He is not the one pulling the strings.
Rather, it is a vampire. The same vampire they worship and has been in their family for.. like deadass generations. This entity has been in their family, pulling all the strings while promising power and immortality for at least a CENTURY
There is pretty much only 2 people allowed to be aware of said entity. The king, and the king's successor. Rei is that successor.
Unfortunately, because of how horrifically manipulated and groomed Rei is, he is really oblivious to how horrific this truly is.
BUT!! Adonis, who is his personal knight and someone who has been around Rei since childhood, is not about to let this happen. Not at all.
Compared to how brainwashed Rei is due to growing up being fed cult shit, Adonis is very aware of how fucked up the royal family is and now, aware of the vampire.
How? Because Adonis doesn't trust the king. To him, he is a mad ruler, and Adonis has been around this obvious cult since he was young. He isn't stupid enough to let his prince go alone to a sketchy meeting past midnight, much less from the fact the king ā A VERY CLEAR CULT LEADER TO ADONIS ā requested it personally.
This is how Adonis overheard everything.
He never did anything sooner, but he can tell that this situation is now a ticking time bomb and he has to act.
So, what does he do? Rescue 2 notorious criminals currently on death row, and recruit them to help.
Aka, KOGA AND KAORUUUUUU!!!!!! š£š£š£

Does Ritsu play a role here? Admittedly I know very little Sakuma lore, but did Rei still betray Ritsu here? Or did that never happen and Ritsu is still very attached to Rei? Honestly Iād love to see the second one because itās just so interesting to think about a more āinnocentā Ritsu. Oh, maybe Ritsu met Koga before and tipped Adonis off about this āinteresting criminalā that was recently abducted (of course he doesnāt tell him that Koga is gonna DIE)

I wanna know what Koga and Kaoru did! Why are they on the death row? Did they actually do something bad or were they framed? And whatās the relationship between the two? Are they working together or just so happen to both be abducted?
I did originally plan for Ritsu to have some involvement, but that was prior to me making the whole vampire stuff.. I mayhaps involve him, I really think it would be cool to make Ritsu a lot of the reason for why Rei even realises this whole thing is fucked up (because the same thing applies here of the sakumas being groomed to be false vampires, though they are all just really ill humans from malnutrition and stuff like that!!)

As for the vampire, they are. Fairly aware of what they're doing. But not at the same time, if that makes sense? A lot of it is built from ignorance. In this au, born vampires are separate from turned vampires.
Vampires born as vampires lack a lot of humanity, mostly see humans as animals, and don't typically NEED to drink blood (it's more of a luxury.) These kind of vampires are a lot more godlike, and they also lack a lot of human anatomy because they aren't human whatsoever
Turned vampires are so much different as they are still human. They still have their humanity (though it will struggle), their views on humans don't change, but they NEED to drink blood. Not for eating, more so if they don't they will die and shrivel up because they are taking blood to replace their lack of.
Also, they cannot turn other humans into vampires. They lack the ability completely. They are humanoid, and basically just like people besides some added strengths to do with the fact they are undead (no... I'm totally not planning to make rei a vampire thats so crazy haha)

And then Ritsu just leaves to live with one of his friends (probably Mao or someone from Knights)

Could even have it so Ritsu is a lot less gullible to his family's cult, even though he's still very naive and innocent, but because Adonis has been purposefully deinfluencing him

Maybe in addition to deinfluencing Ritsu, Adonis once escorted Ritsu outside the castle grounds (at Rei's or Ritsu's request) and Ritsu discovered NORMAL people and was like "WOW I want to be like that!" Maybe he starts sneaking out a lot after that and eventually meets Mao, Knights, Hajime, or whoever else you'd want him to be friends with. Being the younger sibling sure has a lot of benefits!
