Some of you may have noticed that there’s been a lack of any real activity on the blog, and that’s because… this blog is officially abandoned. There has also been some public fighting, much to our embarrassment, as we shouldn’t have been as immature as to do that.

We, the muns, all worked on a discord server together, discussing matters about the blog, rp’ing and sharing headcanons. Mun Clara, the creator of the blog, also created the discord server. Mun Clara had an iron grip of all admin permissions she gave to the administrators, and she also acted very immature, one of the more recent examples being how she dealt with getting asked to leave a BNHA Hetalia au on account of her age making people uncomfortable. 

The rest of the muns grew tired of it, and then when we called her out, she demoted all of us on the discord server and then eventually deleted it. We have made another tumblr account, but we are still working on it @50-states-of-grey 

We are all sorry that things had to end like this, but we have to just deal with it and move on.  ~ Sincerely, all the muns.

I’ve been hearing a lot about this so to clarify:

This is Disney’s fault. Not Sony’s. Remember: Disney owns Marvel Studios.

Sony actually covered the production costs of all of Tom Holland’s Spiderman movies, not Disney.

The contract that Sony and Disney had been working with was Sony gets 90% of the earnings for the new Spiderman movies (since they still own the copyright to the character), in exchange for Disney’s (and thusly Marvel’s) use of the character in the MCU, and on official Marvel/Disney merchandise. (Which Disney gets the profits from.)

With me so far? Sony gets 90% of the movie profits. Disney gets 10% of movie profits, and (I believe) 100% of the merchandise profits.

Disney recently decided that a 90/10 split isn’t enough for the multi-billion dollar corporation, and wanted to revise their contract with Sony to an even 50/50 take of the spoils.

The Problem: This was the exact contract Disney and Marvel pitched to Sony back during Andrew Garfield’s tenure as Spiderman, which Sony refused to even humor. So obviously, Sony is PISSED.

Negotiations are still on the table, of course, to keep Tom Holland’s Spiderman in the MCU, but unless Disney can calm tf down with their bs, Sony plans to break from the deal, and take their rights to Spiderman and leave. (Since Sony technically still owns all of the rights to Spiderman.)

The Problem 2.0: Marvel fans and Tom Holland stans are blaming Sony for the disagreement, when the fault falls onto Disney and their greed.

Due to this misguided anger, the hashtag “Boycott Sony” is taking social media by storm and, in a best case scenario, infulence Sony into a deal with Disney for more than Disney deserves. In a worst case scenario, Sony will see the boycott and start a war with Disney, and we’ll never see Tom Holland’s Spiderman again. (Tom was Stan Lee’s favorite Spiderman/Peter Parker btw.)

a russian LGBT rights activist elena grigoryeva was recently found dead with 8 stab wounds near her home.

the police didn’t do anything about it, despite how many people called out for help.

there’s also a russian anti LGBT group called “pila” (“chainsaw”). a couple of months prior they published a hit list of LGBT activists from russia. elena was on the list. and so are other people who are related to the community in some ways.

they stated that they prepared some “cruel gifts” to the people on the list. the beauty blogger andrew petrov (whose name is also on it) recently made a post for his followers that shed more light on the situation.

another activist, andrew shituhin is a victim of this organization. the addresses of his family, along with other personal information got published on the website. earlier he got kicked out of his university. he immigrated to netherlands, although recently he came to a town near moskow to live for a bit. his friend, zhenia svetski, is aimed at by this organization. in a threatening email “pila” stated that he will be killed before august if andrew doesn’t help him to immigrate to netherlands.

all i’m asking for is to spread this post so that more people from other countries are aware of the situation.

Wild Kitty joined the community and a lot of people didn’t pay much attention to her, mainly because no one was interested in her fanfics. Which caused her to be under the radar for a while. HOWEVER, as time went by something seemed off about Wild Kitty. And one of the things that shot up my red flags was her comments on my art of Alfred/America in an AU called Underbed, which is based off of one of my original stories where there is toy, candy/sweets, and bug people. Alfred/America being basically a human cola bottle- Meaning he was made of glass and had cola splashing around in him:

While it wasn’t anything super incriminating, it was still very off putting. But I shrugged it off, which was a HUGE MISTAKE.

Another incident is when Wild Kitty took a comic, mocking the EU for allowing immigrants into it’s borders and said “I’m going to draw a Hetalia version of this xd” which sadly I do not have the screenshots of.

Also, while I was looking at an artist’s redesign of France (Who was black, the reason for the artist being that Stromae, a popular singer in the French speaking community, is black. While he is Belgian, not French, I could see what they were going for), I saw this comment:

THIS IS WHEN I WENT LIKE “Oh hell nO” AND WENT OVER TO HER PROFILE TO FIND THAT FUCKING FANFIC.

It was fucking surreal- And the mods (who are in fact, POC) planned to ban them. (I censored their usernames, and yes while I know you can’t really find them without the tags, I’m still going to try to be careful with this.)

And so they were banned, but not after they tried to get back in:

So we banned her again, and then google plus went down. Never to be seen again.

Not all Hetalia fans are neonazis, and while some may be, they are extremely looked down upon in the fandom and are not tolerated, and multiple fandoms can have these kinds of people. Yes, Hetalia is based around history, but to seperate races or ethnicities is not it’s goal, nor has it ever been. In the actual comics and (original dubbed) anime, it never brings up the belief of superiority.

I keep seeing the drama being spread about the anime Hetalia and how it's "antisemitic" and "racist". I want evidence besides personal bias to prove this. Because honestly? That's really not how Hetalia is in the slightest. They're based off of stereotypes. Know what those are? They're "a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing." They are literally countries personified as mass stereotypes. You can even go to the Kitawiki for Hetalia and read about what the anime/manga is about.

Speaking of the anime, it is shit. It does not cover the entire series, and cherry picks certain things. Even then, it's not that bad. But that's the Sub. Let's talk about the Dub. The Dub was mostly a joke, and the only thing that could be considered antisemitic was the one line from Germany saying "What? Another Jew?" this was meant to be offensive satire, and was pretty much supposed to be funny. Why? Because the anime was made a long time ago. Offensive humor wasn't well.. considered as offensive as it is now.

So, all of this is to be taken with a grain of salt. Regardless, the Dub is not a way to represent Hetalia at all and should not be something to do your research off. The Dub was an inaccurate translation of the Sub and was a joke. Does that make it okay? No, they could've done a better job. Was this an anime from back in 2010 and was expected to be kinda shit since it was just starting up with a really low budget? Yeah.

The manga is actually very insightful and pretty cool, with lots of little historical retellings. Some not too accurate since sometimes it's portrayed in jokes, but you get it. It's a pretty cool manga with a pretty amazing concept. Please read it if you'd like to make valid arguments, or just read it so you can realize it's not as bad as people seem to make it.

But, let's talk about what's really shitty. The fact that people are hating on those who enjoy Hetalia. You are insulting and harassing innocent people who haven't done jack shit to you. Really? Is that really what you want to be like? To harm innocent people over an anime from 2010? That's really sad and pathetic. A few people literally raided and spammed servers. At first it was memes, but then it was homophobic and outright hateful shit.

So, tell me. What's more harmful? A series with low budget characters? Or people like that. Your fucking move, Tumblr.

The ignorance is very strong, but not strong enough to drag us down. You are fighting against nothing but a brick wall. So do us all a favor, and leave us the fuck alone. Have a nice day.

If you’re gonna have an ignorant American attitude then please only stay on American posts. No one in North Europe has an AC in their houses. Stores, animal shelters, elderly houses, no one has AC. the houses are designed to keep the heat in. The people are not accustomed to the heat. A sudden climate shift like this is extremely dangerous to older people and babies specifically.

There are programs being run to inform elderly people what to do to not die in this heat. There was a heatwave in the Netherlands in 2010 in which approximately 500 more elderly people passed away than normally.

One thing people don’t often appreciate is that the southern US states are along the same latitude as the Middle Eastern deserts, rather than northern Europe. We’re not competing with Texas, we’re competing with northern Canada. If Saskatoon can’t handle Mexican weather, London can’t handle Middle-Eastern weather. It’s not built for it at all.
