My mother denied the HPV vaccine when I was 15, and now I have mild traces of it in my system as a result of catching an STI 5 years ago and it’s been building ever since. I’m now pregnant, and can’t get vaccinated til I give birth. Thankfully it was caught now, despite its chances of developing into cancer are low, guess who’s gonna get the fucking vaccine?! Guess whos mother got a hounding from myself and my doctor for negligence on the count of: “it’s too new, therefore I don’t trust it.”

Vaccine schedules are also created for a reason. Giving several shots at once (a) reduces stress on your child from multiple office visits (b) creates a stronger immune response making each vaccine more effective and © gets your kid immunized sooner, protecting them sooner.

Vaccine related “adverse events” are almost entirely self-reported nonsense that comes from either the nocebo effect or attention seeking behavior. Even documented severe reactions, like Guillane-Barre, are actually less likely to occur after the vaccine than they are to occur after contracting the disease the vaccine prevents.

If you have an allergy to eggs or latex, ask if there are allergen free formulas available. I know there are latex and egg free flu vaccines.

If you have a medical reason why you cannot be vaccinated, you are totally fine. I am doing this advocacy for you. You stay safe.
