Hi! This is mod Chibi ^^

Stuff got really busy for us so we sort of took an unannounced hiatus! Sorry! Mod Alison has been really busy with uni and I’m not comfortable working on the blog by myself. Not to mention I’m fairly busy with my normal work schedule as well.

However! We do have a big surprise coming and we will be resuming the blog soon. My hopes are that we will get back to posting have a slow but steady schedule starting in May! And once summer break starts, we might see mod Alison coming back into action again! But we’ll see!

We’re still here and I think about the blog all the time, real life is just kinda hard to work around sometimes! But we do have a decent plot worked out for the blog up through Gavin’s birthday in the ask universe. So once we get back to posting, we’re going to try to maintain a steady schedule that won’t overwhelm us. It will most likely be a single post a few days a week, but once we get back into the swing of things, it could pick up!

We’re really sorry again for the long hiatus, but we do appreciate all the continued support and love for the blog! Please just hold out a little while longer while we work these things out, and I do hope you all enjoy the surprise we have in store! ^^

Gavin: …Uhh.

(He lightly scratches his nose.)

Gavin: I mean, at first…

Gavin: (sighs) It’s not like…it’s completely unbelievable they have feelings and stuff. That’s…technology, right? Crazy shit. But…

Gavin: Rights? Equal opportunity? It means they can get jobs, if they want. And really, if you’re, like, conscious and shit, you might as well. From what I got, Androids wanted freedom to do what they want, but… then they have to find purpose by their own means. And jobs can give that.

(Looking down, Detective Connor takes out a coin and quietly begins doing a few tricks.)

Gavin: But jobs are for humans. That’s what I was thinking. Androids don’t need money - they don’t need food, or shelter. Getting hired just keeps getting harder and harder and it’s just - just so - unfair.

(He lets out a frustrated groan, pressing the heel of a palm against his eyes.)

Gavin: I mean…

Gavin: We’ve just never been good at adapting tech advancement stuff to help everyone. And it just keeps getting worse.

(Detective Reed’s hand slides down to rest over his mouth, then peeks a look at Detective Connor. The other meets his eyes.A beat of silence, then Detective Connor smiles.Detective Reed blinks and looks away.)

Gavin: Well, I’m still not sure what to think about that.

Gavin: But, Androids having feelings -

Gavin: - I get that now.

Gavin: It’s all good.

Gavin: That wasn’t what I was gonna say...

(Detective Reed smiles.)

Gavin: But, hell yeah.

Gavin: Con here could probably be the scariest thing you’ve ever seen, if you get in his way.

(As he speaks, Detective Connor’s eyebrows furrow a little.)

Connor: Ah -

Gavin: He gets super focused on field missions. Finding suspects, beating them down - Barbie here starts glaring a little, ready to beat some ass.

(Dramatically, Detective Reed puts his hands together to mimic a gun. Detective Connor is looking down at his hands.)

Gavin: One time, we were trying to get the jump on a dealer - but the guy jumped out before we expected it and ran off. Con was all like, “Freeze! Detroit Police!” - y’know, super corny as always -

Connor: It’s normal, is it not?

Gavin: (snorts) Yeah, yeah - and cheesy too.

Connor: Hmm…

Gavin: Anyway, the guy runs, right? But Con runs right at him too, through all those tight alleyways and shit - hard as fuck to catch up, damn Android speed - but the guy was about to go into a crowd, and all of a sudden, Connor stops, raises his gun -

(Detective Reed imitates shooting his finger gun.)

Gavin: Pcckah. Instant shot. Just like that.

Connor: It was necessary.

Gavin: Yeah, and really cool. There was another time, too…

(Detective Reed talks for a while, wide gestures to accompany his story, before he finally winds down to a close. He’s smiling quite a bit.

Detective Connor has been silent, however. His LED pulses yellow.)

Gavin: …They had to make you like that, huh, if you were hunting other androids.

Connor: …

(In an instant, Detective Connor’s LED turns blue. He looks up and smiles at Detective Reed.)

Connor: Yes. But that’s only because I was programmed to…

Gavin: Yeah? You’re still badass now.

Gavin: Even that time you knocked me out - (laughs) - how focused you are - it’s scary, but freaking cool.

(The LED is yellow once more.)

Connor: We are past that, yes?

Gavin: Of course.

Gavin: You’re just - I mean. You can definitely be -

(Detective Reed points to each of his cheeks.)

Gavin: - not smiley.

Connor: If…

Connor: If you say so.

Connor: But really, truly -

Connor: It’s only when I’m focused on work.

Connor: I’m not sure why. My calculations were somewhat awkward in regards to my height and environment, for some reason. It’s better with familiar environments.

Connor: I’ve adjusted accordingly with experience, however.

(You hear someone shuffle by.)

Hank: (muttering) Thank god.

(Detective Connor’s LED flashes cycles to yellow once again.

Hi Connor, Gavin. This is a really neat thing you're doing. Unfortunately, I don't know any androids personally, or I'd ask them, so I hope you don't mind me asking you instead, Connor. But, how much control do you have over minor bits of your body. For example, can you wiggle your ears? Or twitch your nose like a bunny. Not all humans can do stuff like that with any real ability. Can you do any of that Gavin? Or cross your eyes? Or, the best for looking silly, touch your nose with your tongue?

Gavin: (laughing slightly) Holy shit, I feel like I’m back in grade school.

Connor: I… can’t say I’ve tried to do any of these things before.

Connor: While I was designed to be dexterous, I’m not sure if anyone at CyberLife would have considered ‘twitching my nose like a bunny’ to be an adequate test of my motor controls.

Connor: Or a sufficient use of them.

Gavin: You gotta be able to do at least some of these, though. Haven’t you ever tried to cross your eyes?

(Detective Connor attempts to do so. Detective Reed snickers.)

Connor: ..

Connor: I have now, and can report that I am capable of this.

(His eyes are still crossed as he speaks. Although he’s stifling his laughter with his fist, Detective Reed is clearly still amused.)

Gavin: Well, that settles it. You gotta try all of them.

(Detective Connor’s eyes have returned to normal.)

Connor: What? Why?

Gavin: (grinning) If you can do one, you can probably do some of the others. Gotta test it out now.

Connor: (frowning slightly) You just want to laugh at me.

Gavin: Oh, yes. Absolutely.

Connor: (smirking) Then it’s only fair that you try these too.

Gavin: What!? Why?

Connor: It’s not fair if only you get any amusement out of this.

Gavin: I already tried this crap when I was a kid. Licking my elbow and shit. I don’t need to do it again.

(Detective Connor raises an eyebrow, still smirking.)

Connor: (teasingly) I hardly think you have the same flexibility now as you did when you were younger.

(Detective Reed narrows his eyes in response. A smirk creeps onto his face, the corner of his lips playfully darting up.)

Gavin: You wanna bet? I’m not gonna let some fancy prototype like you trash talk me like this.

(You watch two idiot detectives try to lick their elbows for the next five minutes.)
