what the signs need to hear

aries: it’s absolutely okay to let people in. it’s scary, but once you do it, a whole world opens up. nobody is going to love you less for having weak moments or for letting them know when you’re down. if anything, they’re going to love you more. it’s going to set you free from everything you’ve always held in. give people the gift of knowing you. you’ll feel closer to them in the end.

taurus: do not shut yourself away. people want to know when you need their help. you don’t have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders all by yourself. you don’t need to feel sad all the time and not reach out for help when you really need it. you’re not bothering anyone, you’re not a burden.

gemini: the people who are meant to love you won’t have to be fought for. i know how badly you want to love and be loved in return. you yearn for that closeness, but sometimes, you just try too hard for people who really don’t deserve you. be yourself, the right people will come along.

cancer: not everyone is going to leave. i know you have the biggest heart, and you’re so scared that you’ll never find people who want to stick around. but the best things come around when you’re not trying to force anything. people want to stay, just loosen your grip, let the anxiety go, you don’t have to cling on. they will stay regardless.

leo: it’s okay to not have everything figured out. life is scary and you’re so hard on yourself. you’re always trying to be perfect and to know what the next step is. but the beauty of life is that we don’t know, and we don’t have to know. we just have to live it and not be so caught up in what may happen next.

virgo: you’re perfect the way you are. you don’t need to change yourself to make people love you. don’t forget your values and what makes you, you. you can be weird, loud, sarcastic. it doesn’t matter what anyone says about any of it. don’t try to be something you’re not. the right people will love you for who you are.

libra: don’t harden. i know how hard it is when all these people have come around and hurt you, but don’t lose yourself. the world can be mean and scary and down right hurtful, but don’t become what you hate. you have strength in your softness. 

scorpio: stop loving people who don’t deserve it. all they do is hurt you and give you anxiety. stop letting them come in and treat you like you’re less than you are. you’re a galaxy, a whole universe. you will never deserve to be only half loved.

sagittarius: having a big heart is not a weakness. you may get frustrated, because you do so much for people and you feel as if it never gets returned. but, the fact that there still are people like you in the world, it gives others hope. it comes so naturally to you, and it’s a beautiful thing to see. it’s easy to think that it’s a weakness, but it is most certainly the strongest attribute a person could have.

capricorn: be loud. speak your opinion. don’t hold back. people may be critical because you tend to be blunt sometimes, but do not let them shrink you. be louder, more brave, more blunt. people act as if it’s horrible to have any opinion these days, but it’s people like you who speak their mind, you make the world better.

Okay, because I’m on a Flatline reblogging spree and because this is the episode’s third anniversary and because we’re approaching the time when the Doctor will officially regenerate into a woman, I need to say something about this scene.

If you asked me about one of my favourite Clara moments, heck one of my favourite Doctor Who moments period, you might not expect me to choose this one, certainly not when there are countless other amazing standout moments to pick from. But to this day it remains a scene that I always come back to.

Why? Because it was during this sequence on the train, where Clara chases after Rigsy, where the real Doctor was totally out of action in the story, that I realised, ‘Someone who isn’t aware of Doctor Who as it is now could watch this and easily assume that Clara is the Doctor.’ Such was the framing, the music, Jenna’s delivery and the way in which the writing so perfectly conveyed the brave, clever, pragmatic, mad way of thinking we associate with the eponymous character. There was something so thrilling about that to me, it was like being a kid who dreamed up adventures with a lady Doctor again, seeing that fantasy come to life on-screen.

But the best part of all is that this wasn’t an imitation or a doppleganger, an alternate universe or a metacrisis. It was Clara Oswald being Clara Oswald, who just so happened to be every bit as brave, clever, pragmatic, and mad. It was just an ordinary, extraordinary human woman who admired the show’s hero, stepped up to be that hero, and was bloody good at it.

Now Clara’s had many moments like this (not least ultimately flying off in a TARDIS of her own) as a part of her character and arc in the show. But this brief scene of her saving one young man’s life, finding another - so simple it’s brilliant - solution, then grabbing his hand and to the Twelfth Doctor’s triumphant theme running through the carriage and jumping off the speeding train just as it’s flattened by dimensional aliens… well, that’s just pure distilled Doctor Who. And the Doctor was the companion. And the Doctor was a woman. And that’s wonderful.

what happened?

-Omar Mateen acted alone in shooting over 100 people at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida at 2am Sunday morning

-Omar had a 3 hour standoff with police, and was eventually shot dead

-50 were killed, 53 were injured

-this is the worst mass shooting America has seen

-this is the worst act of terrorism since 9/11

-police say Omar was organized and well prepared

-he was armed with an assault rifle, a handgun and an unspecified “device”

-this was an act of terror and hate

things to remember.

-it was latin night last night at Pulse

-the night was being hosted by trans women of color

-do not erase the fact that this was a hate crime against people in the lgbt+ community

-be respectful to the families affected by this tragedy

-some people could have been outed if they were killed or injured

-Omar’s father has stated that Omar was indeed homophobic and became angry after seeing two men kissing

-this shooting had nothing to do with religion

Fuck that! I'm black and we're always told by whites that we will be heard better if we used our words.

We been using our words for over 150 years. Let's fucking show them that we are angry.

That we are done with the lack of gun regulations. The discriminatory laws and practices/policies that are in place!

That we want to be treat like humans! Black, white, asian, latino, muslim, christian, lesbian, trans, etc. we all have a right to live and be happy!
