She instantly recognized the the caped crusader. "Batman," she greeted with a slight nod. She also noticed a girl who can't be that much older than her. She eyed her from head to toe, collecting what she can figure out about her as much as she can.
She was suddenly worried for her newfound friend. She didn’t want her or any of the other tiny children to get hurt by their villainous teachers. “Well,” she asked hesitantly, “What exactly do they make you guys do?” She hoped it wasn’t anything life-threatening. If it was, she would find a way to make them pay.
Cass was confused with Babs’s worried look and was getting anxious herself. She shrugged as a response. “Nothing much…” she said. “Just normal school stuff like boring lectures, lunch, show and tell.” she ticked off the list on her fingers. ”And-and they give us PILES of homework!” She threw her arms up in an exaggerated manner.
Babs sighed in relief. At least it was a normal average school and not a school that taught heroes how to be villains. That would be worrisome. But if it was simply an alternate universe where tiny sidekick heroes were regular students with villains as regular evil teachers, she supposed it wouldn’t be too bad. “Homework huh?” she teased. “Do you finish all of your homework on time, missy?”
She was hoping Babs won't mention about that. "Oh! Uhh..." she hesitated, smiling sheepishly. "I try?" Cass isn't a fan of handwritten work, so not everything she writes is correct. She believes that as long as she fills everything in, even if it's nonsense, she'll get the grade she needs.

Cass tilted her head at the officer, contemplating on whether to salute him or not.

"Hello," she greeted, waving shyly. "I'm Ca-er..Batgirl."
Cass scrunched her face making a painful look. “I don’t…like the way it sounds…” In fact, she wouldn’t like anyone knowing what she was going inside her head about if it were her.
“Not only can he find out your deepest secrets, but he can smell lies.” And he was so smug! SO smug! There were so many times where Paige had to resist the urge to punch her shrink. If the man could inflate a balloon as much as his ego, he could fly around the world in 80 days.
She nodded in response, listening to every word. She could hear the anger in her voice.
Hearing the reassurance, Cass’s relaxed a little. She gave a slight smile when Ty mentioned the bulldog. was it? She knew dogs couldn’t eat chocolate. Ever since she had gotten reprimanded by Robin (Dick) and Batgirl (Babs) when she tried to feed Ace candy, she did not know what was wrong, but…
Ty set aside his ice cream creation, much to Cass’s apparent dismay; the mask was hard to read. He looked right at the tiny bat and smiled. ”Nothing…or something? I told you, you can ask me anything that wouldn’t put me in a position to be on the very bad end of a batarang.” Or staring down the barrel of one of Cain’s many firearms, Ty added in his mind as he gave a sarcastic scoff. Who was he kidding? He’d be lucky if he received warning from the assassin. ”Come on then, Cass. Ask away. I’m ready for whatever you’ve got.”
When Ty placed the bowl of ice cream in front of her, Cass leaned over it and quirked a brow. Just two scoops… Probably ran out. She shrugged it off and gave him her thanks. A little was better than nothing.
Ty asked his question, again, along with a bat remark. “Ha-ha,” she said sarcastically. Swinging her legs back and forth, she began thinking. “Well…I blamed you…for something you didn’t do…right?” she asked, trying to get the right words out when she notice him starting to get nervous.
“I am going to apologize for this until the day I die and a few days in the afterlife, aren’t I?” Ty asked, Cass shrugging as she didn’t quite know herself. ”Well, here’s the thing; I felt bad that I sat on you, and I was worried that I’d be on said bad end of the batarang.” Or Cain’s bad side in general…ooo, or Shiva could pay you a visit… Tyson ignored the voice in his head as he continued. ”I really didn’t know you were under there, but when I realized what I did, I felt horrible. I hope you can forgive me.”
She blinked a few times before bursting out into a laughing fit. “Pfft!” That was it? Both of them were looking for forgiveness the whole time. She fell off the high chair wrapped her arms around her stomach to keep from aching from the laughter.
Time slowed to a crawl as Ty watched Cass fall out of the chair, rushing to catch her like a fly ball that had yet to hit the ground. Somehow he got himself turning in mid lunge, catching the girl as they both crashed to the ground. Ty was now laying on his back, looking to see the tiny bat secured in his arm. She was safe and sound as she held herself in her arms, giggling up a storm. As he heard her laugh, he realized that she must have expected to hear worse from him and was relieved. He was relieved as well, taking the jovial laughter as forgiveness for his transgression. This, coupled with the spill he took, made Ty break out in laughter as well.
Several minutes later, Cass climbed back to her seat as Ty sat beside her. He had tea prepared for himself and his guest, so he had something to enjoy while Cass had her ice cream. ”So, now that we’ve sorted that, what else is on your mind? Ask away.”
It took a while, to find that Ty had caught her fall after her started laughing along with her. Seems that everything will be all right, again. After the laughter and giggling subsided, she had to climb up to her seat because she doesn’t have the strength to leap up as she did before.
She pulled up her mask up to her nose ans about to take a spoonful of the dessert when she was asked yet another question. Cass shook her head once more. She got all that she needed: ice cream, forgiveness, a hearty laugh, and….what’s that? She took the spoon out of her mouth and looked at the dark liquid in the cup.
Ty waited for her response, but all he got was a shake of the head. He rationalized that it must have been hard to think of questions when you had ice cream, absolution from a misunderstanding, laughter, and Assam tea. While Cass enjoyed her snack and tea, Ty began pulling tools and components for his latest project from his pockets. While he worked, he was suddenly struck with realization.
“Oh, I nearly forgot,” he cried out, pulling a small orb out of his pocket and setting it on the table beside Cass. “You’re going to need this when we start playing again.”
Cass examined the unknown liquid in her cup before taking a small sip, and scrunched her face at the smoky flavor. She make a quick glance at Ty and noticed his curious face. She didn’t want to seem rude to her host so she drank every last drop of it. “It’s…uh..something,” she said, smiling sheepishly. She hated lying, but, then again, it wasn’t really lying, she honestly has never tasted anything like it before.
Seeing Ty working on something else, she put the cup aside and dove right for her chocolate ice cream. She was about to take a spoonful when there was a sudden outburst which made her flinch and drop her spoon. She hated it when people just yell out like that. Calm… Calm… Cass chanted to herself.
She turned towards the orb placed on the counter, quirking a brow in confusion.
“Sorry for the sudden outburst,” Ty said, noticing that Cass got just as frightened by sudden loud noises as he did. ”I’m no better than a cheesy horror flick that thinks jump scares makes for good suspense.”
He then noticed the look of confusion on Cass’s face as she stared at the orb. In this time of hanging out with her, he was starting to notice the slight shifting of her mask that revealed the changing emotions of the face beneath; it did help that her mask was lifted enough so she could eat.
“I should probably explain the orb. You’re going to need that to get through the halls of this place without getting lost. It’s like an automated mall directory…you’ve been to a mall before, right?”
She stared at Ty for a moment before turning her head back to the orb. Obviously, she didn’t not want to talk about the prior incident. Cass picked up the mysterious orb, turning it around to examine it. How was something so tiny help her? But, then again, she was tiny herself and she helps people.
Cass haven’t a clue not know on what he said, but she did hear the word ‘direct’. Maybe it has something to do helping her around the place. “A few times…” She remembered when she had first gone to a mall. It took time for the bat family to coax her into going. She was amazed when she went in, she’d never seen so many people in one place. One time, when Cass was roaming around the place, she got lost, and from then on, she had to hold on to one of the kids’ hand.
“Can I finish my ice cream, first?” she asked, hopefully.
“Excellent, then you have an idea of what I’m talking about,” Ty smiled, “We’ve got to go sometime so I can treat you to a pretzel wrapped hot dog. Best food combination since peanut butter and tuna.” Ty noticed the look of surprised shock/disgust on Cass’s face. He just shrugged. ”It’s an acquired taste, I guess…”
Then he heard Cass’s question about finishing her ice cream before they started. ”But of course, I didn’t mean to rush you. I just wanted to make sure you got it before…well, don’t worry about it. It’ll give you the tutorial once you give the access code, which is a count up to the number one hundred. And that’s only after you’re ready to start. I’ll just be working here quietly until you’re ready.”
And with that, Ty went back to his project while Cass ate her ice cream, every so often catching her staring at the orb.
She stared and tilted her head at him. How can a hot dog fit inside a pretzel? Her thoughts were interrupted when Ty mentioned a peanut butter and tuna combination. She gawked at him in shock because had never heard of such a combo. When she looked at his shrug as a response, she regained her demeanor.
Cass hung on to every word as he told her some of the orb’s abilities. ‘Access code? And count to 100…’ She sighed in relief, glad that it’s not some answer to a complex riddle. ‘Wow…Ty and Tim’ll probably be best friends if they ever met,’ she thought, judging by their intelligence of technology. ”What are…you working on?” she asked as she ate her ice cream.
Cass didn’t look at him when she asked her question, instead her eyes were too busy fixating on the mysterious orb, curious with of what other things it can do. She keeps taking spoonfuls of the dessert even though it was all gone. All there were was the sound of a spoon clanging against a bowl.

"Hmm?" Ty asked, looking up from his tinkering to address Cass's question, though she wasn't looking at him when she asked.
Ty always liked talking about what he was making to anyone willing to listen, but nobody had ever asked him what he was working on...for a second time. The first time, they listened to humor him and waited until he stopped to take a breath before remarking 'sorry I asked'. He was working on that whole less is more thing, and he definitely didn't want to scare Cass off with his tech-nerd tendencies.
"Oh, some silly idea I had planned out...last Tuesday around two AM, I think," Ty responded.
It was the solution to an interesting question he asked himself over the course of several sleepless nights: How does one introduce a freezing agent to a Talon assassin's bloodstream without said Talon seeing it coming? He was hoping to have it done soon and equipped to the suit in case the Court decided to strike again. Ty had a semi-perfected, short, sweet and to the point explanation for his latest project, but that seemed to vanish from his mind suddenly as it was replaced by something else: the sound of a spoon clanging against a bowl. Namely, Cass's spoon clanging against the empty ice cream bowl.
Saved by the clang, Ty thought, for both parties, I'd think. Ty offered to take the bowl and clean it out, but felt a true gentleman would let Cass take care of it herself; he'd just help her up to the sink if she needed it. He put away the parts and tools he was working with into his cargo pockets. "So then, shall we begin, or do you really want to know about what I'm making? Don't mind my stretching, now, I wanna be ready once you start counting."
Cass quirked a brow when she heard Ty hesitate in his response, as if he wanted to say more but couldn't. It couldn't be that bad. At the same time, she realized that her bowl of completely empty. When he offered to take the bowl to the sink, she pouted and pointed proudly to herself. "I can do it!"
And with that, he chuckled at her do-it-yourself attitude. She was glad that she could be trusted with the task. Walking closer and closer to the sink, she realized it was a lot higher than she had in mind. Her arms could reach up into the sink, but the fact that she can't see over it makes it troublesome. She would tie her batarang to a rope to climb up, but she was afraid it might damage anything. "I need help..." she finally admitted.
After that was taken care of, Cass looked over to Ty who was stretching. She thought about his questions and picked the first one. "The game." She figured if he was comfortable enough to talk to her about his inventions, she could wait another day.

She giggled in response. Now the air started to get heavier as they flew higher and she was starting to get a bit more colder. Though, it's not that bad for her since she has her thermal suit and Conner's jacket to keep her warm.

She couldn’t help but inwardly aww at the way Cass ducked her head. The girl didn’t exactly know how to take a compliment, but it sure was cute. She was utterly surprised by the fact that the teachers at Sidekick Elementary were villains. It didn’t make sense. How were these kids going to learn anything about being a sidekick if they were being taught by villains? “Wait, wait, wait, your teachers are Dr. Light and Trigon? How does that-how does that even work? You don’t,” she paused, “You don’t listen to them, do you guys?”
She jumped up at the sudden outburst. “We have to…unless we get detention…” She tilted her head slightly and gave her a confused expression. She found it ironic herself that villains would waste their time educating their would-be enemies. Nothing bad has happened so far for her.
