It usually wasn’t much like this, to be out and about during this hour.  Yet, it was relatively easy tonight; to slip past the ever watching eye of his Big Boss.  Rick couldn’t discern why, however, it was nice to feel the rush of cold night air on his face.  It was rather crowded in the casino tonight, and for whatever reason, Rick just couldn’t tune out the noise like he usually did during hours; he just needed some peace, for a few minutes at least.  

He made his way out of the cave the casino was nestled into, out into the truly fresh air of the isles.  He just had the strongest urge to just lean against that opening and look up at the clear, star-dotted sky.  Yet, as he approached the opening, he spied a silhouette in the moonlight.  It didn’t look like anyone he knew until he got just a few steps away.

“Boss! “ Rick came to a stop, scratching at his own cheek in confusion, “ What are yew doin' aaaht 'ere?”

{Open Starter; Anyone Can Interact!}

It felt like weeks since Rick had pulled himself out of bed. His gloved hands gripped the bed frame, the wood creaking under the pressure, as he forced himself upwards. A spiraling sensation took ahold of his head. Wincing, Rick put his head in his hands and sat, staring at the patterns in the floor as he waited for it to pass.

See, it had been known by no one when Rick had come down ill. One day the sickness socked him in the jaw and he just ran off, not a word from him; other than to Butch and Benny. He couldn’t even bring himself to tell King Dice, somewhat of shame, somewhat of fear of his Other Boss being told.

Now, Rick was stumbling to the door of his ‘room’, knees wobbling at each step. He turned the doorknob slowly, letting each click resonate for as long as it could before the other one began. The door opened and he stuck his head out into the hallway, seemed no one else was out here, but then again, where would they find the time.

Shaking, Rick walked himself out to his post, in the back corner of the casino, and took a seat. His bowtie crooked, and one sleeve down and the other one up, was as presentable as he could manage; hopefully no one noticed, and it would be even better if nothing happened today, but that was practically an impossibility. He sighed, closing his eyes, just focusing on not feeling sick, he wouldn’t notice if someone walked up to him, even if they had the loudest footsteps in the world, in this moment.

footsteps of hooves are listened to from a distance, becoming stronger as the person approaches , getting closer, it was octavio looking for the sounds of rick’s footsteps, as he had just arrived, he had not even had a glass of alcohol so he look at rick a little surprise “hey its you!” octavio said in a calm tone smiling but then stop smiling, noticing that rick wasn’t okay “hey are you okay dude? we didn’t see you for awhile, you look like i eat you and then i spit you he he he…need some help?” he said getting closer to him putting his hands in his pockets

Rick was off deep in thought, some place far from the noise around him. The chatter of the casino eventually bled into static in his head, and soon all he heard was the sound of his own breathing. Heavy and raspy it was, a shaking chest each time air was drawn in. He nearly had zoned out completely, succumbing to the deep slumber he had been in just a few moments ago yet again, but a voice faded into existence amongst the static. And, as if he was a radio tuning into the right station, it soon became apparent that he recognized this voice.

His heavy eyes cracked open, head rolling back down to get a look at the goat he had carried out all those nights ago. "...Octavio?" Rick wasn't quite sure if he had gotten the name right, but just trying to dig into his memory was like driving a needle into the back of his head, so he just hoped he was right.

He took a moment to register the other's question, raising a hand to wipe at his own eyes; which at this point had bags, which seemed literally quite impossible for a man of metal, but that's just how sick he was! Rick bit his tongue, holding back the urge to collapse to his knees and explain his condition right then and there, but he couldn't; he needed to be at work, so he answered with a short and sweet,

"I'm fine, jus' tired an' all,"
