“You’re in my veins, you fuck.” Pete Doherty says that this was the best text message he’d ever gotten from Kate Moss; she also wrote it on a wall of his bedroom in her own blood.
Finished Chandra.

“I have a problem when people say something’s real or not real, or normal or abnormal. The meaning of those words for me is very personal and subjective. I’ve always been confused and never had a clearcut understanding of the meaning of those kinds of words.”
Well, that’s a new one.
who doesn't like a good Son of Man parody?
Why is the Nobel Prize in Literature almost always given to a novelist, never a scientist? Why should we prefer our literature to be about things that didn’t happen? Wouldn’t, say, Steven Pinker be a good candidate for the literature prize?
Richard Dawkins in this interview [New York Times]
Steven Pinker would actually be one of the worst candidates for the literature prize. And sometimes literature that is about things that didn’t happen is so powerful, rich, and inspirational that the author is awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Now I’m fed up that the Nobel Prize in Physical seems to always be awarded to a physicist, never a novelist.

Richard Dawkins is embarking on a really hardcore campaign to be elected “the actual worst”

Shut up, Dick Dorkins
(via hermione-ganja)
What a tool. I can’t decide whether he or The Amazing Atheist is a worse liability to Atheism as a movement… they’re very much from the same stock.
This is why I get nervous when Dick Dorkins and his ilk talk about wiping out all religion. I’m an artist and a scholar. I recognize that much of the world’s most beautiful art is religious art. I am assured again and again that wiping out religion would not be accompanied by a similar annihilation of art.
When I read a quote like this, however, I can only conclude that the leaders of this purge have no understanding of art. We’ve had enough iconoclasm; this man… he makes me uneasy.

Check out Pinker's editorial in the New Republic -see, it's horrible already - where he proposes (with the utmost respect, of course) that the primary virtue of the humanities is that they can praise scientific achievements, but that their methodology should, of course, be replaced by that of the hard sciences (assuming we side with Pinker against the majority of biologists that evolutionary psychology is scientific, &c.)
These people aren't lying about their agenda. Take them at their word.
(Can the human soul be shrunk to the spaces they'd confine it to? I honestly don't know. Is it unscientific of me not to want to discover the answer?)
SAPOROUS

1. full of flavour or taste; flavourful.
2. the quality in a substance that is perceived by the sense of taste; flavour
Etymology: Late Latin sapōrōsus, equivalent to Latin sapor – savour.

When Miley Cyrus is naked & licks a hammer it’s “art” and “music”.. but when I do it, I’m “wasted” and “have to leave Home Depot”
