Meet Aster Amaryllis Mystfall, a traveling librarian from the capital city! She unfortunately lost her book cart to a terrain mishap, and decided to spend a night or two in Oakhurst so she could hopefully gather some help before trying to retrieve it. Of course, that won't go too well for them. They never take off their necklace, though she fidgets with it often.

Town (Day 1)

As the sun creeps ever closer to the horizon, Everett comes back to town with wood from the forest. Part of him regrets leaving the peaceful solitude of the forest, but shelter is his first priority.
Upon arriving back in town, Everett looks around for Lily, but comes across someone they don't recognize instead.

Aster looks up from where she's been focusing on The Scientist, having just gotten the cat to settle in her arms, to see a mild-looking person she hasn't met yet standing before her.
They smile at him, part of them instinctively wanting to be his friend. "Hi," they greet, hoping they don't sound awkward or anxious. "I'm Aster, and this-" she hoists the cat in her arms- "is The Scientist. What's your name?"

"Everett," he says. "I'm something of a scientist myself." He finds himself fidgeting with his waistcoat, pulling at it in an attempt to make himself more comfortable. He wasn't prepared for yet another conversation with a stranger. Hopefully he doesn't mess up, or come off as overly anxious.
"What brings you here?"
"Oh, uh- I'm a librarian. I've been traveling, but I lost my book cart and was hoping to find a place to rest before going back to retrieve it." She casts a glance around at the ruins, smiling nervously in an attempt at finding humor in the situation. "Not that my plan is going very well..." The Scientist squirms slightly in their arms, and they loosen their grip in case she wants to jump down.

Forest Day 1
As the sun starts to slip lower in the sky, Everett sets off to gather building supplies. It feels wrong to bring an axe to the trunk of a tree—a good scientist doesn't destroy the environment they are observing. Regardless, shelter is important, and Everett can't make any observations if they're dead, so they reluctantly get to work cutting down a tree.
(He does make sure to keep an eye out for wither roses in the area, but he doesn't see any at the moment. It's not a surprise. They're usually found further into forests, anyway.)

The … beacon filled up with golden light, and sent a shining stream up into the hole in the roof of the building she was in. What a strange sight…

Riley looked over at the crash. “Oh my gosh, are you okay?” They glanced at the beacon, then back to Rosalia. “Wait, why is it doing that? What just happened?”

Footsteps come from outside the tower, and two people (@violet-untrust-au) rush on in.
One of them was a tan-skinned, brown-haired person with a magenta streak in his hair. He had vivid magenta eyes that seemed to not fully meet the surfaces in front of her, and she was in navy blue militia-wear with discoloured patches. There seemed to be an especially discoloured patch on its side, tinted a dark red. Could be dirt, could be something else.
Nessie seemed a bit shaken from the sound of the crash, but seemed to be alright.
But she didn't speak, opting to let Violet do so.
The girl on the floor looks up in surprise. Two more people? How abandoned is this place?
What are they here for? Dinner?

Violet barely noticed the person who stumbled over due to the sudden overwhelming presence that seemed hit her. Looking ahead she noticed the large yellow-orange cube. It looks almost identical to the one she saw by the lake.
Yet this one had its entire surface completely converted. And it was definitely giving off some kind of magic. Going by the colour and aura that it was giving off her best guess was that it was holy magic.
" woah... thats unlike anything I have ever seen." Violet said, looking at the beacon.
She then suddenly became aware of the other person in the room.
"oh hi! Uhhhh Riley right?" Violet said " sorry for leaving that conservation so abruptly."
She swore she recognizes them from somewhere. Oh well that is for future Violet to figure out.
Gosh she has to figure out what is happening with this town.
( ooc I have no idea how this interaction is going to f up the timeline but im just going to go with it i guess)

They reach into their faded leather satchel to try and see if she can lure the cat back with another fish, but she doesn't have any left. There are people around the beacon. Aster doesn't know if she's ready to deal with people, but they'll have to sooner or later. Might as well be now.
She hopes they like cats.
“Oh— yeah, you’re Violet right?” Riley says before seeing The Scientist and getting distracted. They sit on the ground and slowly approach the cat until she lets them pet her.
(Ooc: if you want we can say this happens after kismet and rosalia leave to go pick a house and find somewhere for rosalia to sit down?)

Aster's footsteps slow further as she approaches the beacon, but her anxiety slightly eases as one of the people around it greets The Scientist with gentle affection. That's a good sign. They crouch down nearby. "...Hello," they offer quietly. "I'm Aster. And that's The Scientist."

“Oh, hey!” Riley says quietly so as not to scare The Scientist. “I’m Riley. This is your cat? She’s so cute!”

Riley smiles as The Scientist rubs her face on their hand. “I’ve always wanted a cat,” they said. “Are you from around here?”
"Not really," Aster answers, smiling down at The Scientist. "I've been in the area for some time, but I'm from the capital. Are you from around here?" She looks around, taking in the town's state of disrepair. Hopefully they don't live here. She doubts it, but you never know.
“No, I’m from a town pretty far from here,” Riley says. “I didn’t even know this place existed before I got here. I wouldn’t have expected there to be so many people here. Someone I was talking to earlier seemed to know a bit about this place, and apparently there was some massacre here two hundred years ago…” they look around anxiously at the ruins.

( occ sorry I haven't really been talking in this conversation much I tried once it did quite get noticed and I've been pretty busy so I'm going to try my best here)
Violet was too busy paying attention to the beacon to notice the two people behind her talking. The beacon itself was strange, it was definitely magic, though if it was purely holy she couldn't tell.
From what she it looks like it seemed to react to people touching it, Perhaps it is something to do with their souls? But that's just speculation.
God this should be so much easier if Kyle just told her what the heck was happening here!
She turned around.
" sorry to interrupt but do either of you know what happens to get this... Beacon I guess? To do what it's doing now?" Violet asked.

Zavier walks around with Lior and Penny, trying to better understand the layout of this place and see if there's anyone else who has shown up here.
The town is definatly a mess as xe noticed when they first arrived with Lior, it's in a state of ruin, it looks barely habitable, but there are traces that others have also been here recently.
It's quite strange that so many people seemed to show up today, why? It dosen't make much sense, this place was supposed to be abandoned after all, surely not everyone was running from somthing like I am?
Xhyr train of thought is cut off as they notice a mostly intact structrure in the center of town, just as a feeling of warmth washes over them, xe... xe dosen't like that feeling, it's warm but unsettling.
They point out the structure to thier compainion, "maybe we should look in there? it looks to be a centeral building of somesort?¨

Inside the central building is a person with tan skin, brown hair that seems to be a bit unkempt with a streak of magenta, magenta eyes and a soldier uniform.
In front of him is what looks to be a beacon, warm and in all its glory.
He picks up the sound of footsteps, and he looks back over his shoulder and spots Lior, Penny, and Zavier.
How many people are in this town??
I don't know, but I'll handle this.
He doesn't greet them, but instead narrows his eyes. "Who are you lot?"

Lior steps to the front and tries to look at least a little imposing: "Friends, we are friends and we don't mean any harm.", They calm their nerves somewhat after and add, "Name's Lior, nice to meet you"

"I'm Zavier" ze says, from where they stand slightly behind Lior as they take in the newcomer, "Do... Do you know what this is?" They say looking at the glowing beacon with confusion, it's unlike anything they've seen before, xe doesn't think they like it

His eyes narrow, and his lips seem to curl in a little as if baring teeth, but he realizes Lior's likely more able to overpower them due to the injury in his side, and he backs down.
"I don't know what it is. I don't trust it, I think neither should you. I do not trust it at all. I don't know anything." She's extremely insistent, and that makes him only look suspicious, but she is being genuine.
A glint in her eyes seems to change, and she clears her throat. "...Nessie Flowers, I'm Nessie Flowers." The name doesn't feel entirely right, something more feminine like Molly would work better, but his name is Nessie Flowers.

Penny simply waves «I'm Penny, nice to meet ya.» She enter the half-destroyed central building, and gently taps the glass of the beacon, looking for some kind of reaction. When there's none, She shrugs. «I heard some rich people do not have candles, but use something called electricity, which lights up things without any fire: maybe this is something similar?»

Lior squints at the beacon not seeming fully convinced by Pennys explenation. They shrug: "I'm not so sure 'bout that. We, me and Zavier I mean, found something like this on the way here, only that one wasn't lit. Besides seems like an odd place for a big light like this. It would just light up the tower if it was still whole, thats an awfull lot of effort for something ypu could just as easily use a torch for.", they turn towards the beacon again and eye it suspicously and then back to Penny, "Then again rich folk aren't exactly known for their efficency."

She tries to think about something calming and reassuring to say, but closes her mouth immediately. She's not good at this kind of stuff. Instead, she comes up with a more practical idea, her kind of approach «I still have the book Lior gave me, y'know? If you want, i can try to read it, and, if i still feel normal afterwards, it means the dust on yours simply didn't sit well with ya. What do ya think?»

Lior is a bit suprised by Riley because they had been watching Zavier rather intently to make sure xe was okay. Once they adjust they turn to her: "Oh no worries we were just talking about a few odd things around here. Old books in monuments of some sort and these weird things." They gesture to the beacon.

Aster's footsteps slow further as she approaches the beacon, but her anxiety slightly eases as one of the people around it greets The Scientist with gentle affection. That's a good sign. They crouch down nearby. "...Hello," they offer quietly. "I'm Aster. And that's The Scientist."

“Oh, hey!” Riley says quietly so as not to scare The Scientist. “I’m Riley. This is your cat? She’s so cute!”

"It's nice to meet you," Aster said, smiling slightly. "Yes, she is! Thank you."
Riley smiles as The Scientist rubs her face on their hand. “I’ve always wanted a cat,” they said. “Are you from around here?”
"Not really," Aster answers, smiling down at The Scientist. "I've been in the area for some time, but I'm from the capital. Are you from around here?" She looks around, taking in the town's state of disrepair. Hopefully they don't live here. She doubts it, but you never know.
The … beacon filled up with golden light, and sent a shining stream up into the hole in the roof of the building she was in. What a strange sight…
It makes me feel quite light-headed.
How queer…
She stumbled, and fell back into herself, back out of that glowing beam.
She stumbled, and fell to the floor. Her cane clattered loudly against the stones underneath her.
You’ve fallen. You’ve collapsed again. It was only a matter of time, you’ve over-exerted yourself today.
How embarrassing. I might need to find somewhere to sit down. Those others in here are probably still in their conversation. They seemed busy… talking.

Footsteps come from outside the tower, and two people (@violet-untrust-au) rush on in.
One of them was a tan-skinned, brown-haired person with a magenta streak in his hair. He had vivid magenta eyes that seemed to not fully meet the surfaces in front of her, and she was in navy blue militia-wear with discoloured patches. There seemed to be an especially discoloured patch on its side, tinted a dark red. Could be dirt, could be something else.
Nessie seemed a bit shaken from the sound of the crash, but seemed to be alright.
But she didn't speak, opting to let Violet do so.
The girl on the floor looks up in surprise. Two more people? How abandoned is this place?
What are they here for? Dinner?

Violet barely noticed the person who stumbled over due to the sudden overwhelming presence that seemed hit her. Looking ahead she noticed the large yellow-orange cube. It looks almost identical to the one she saw by the lake.
Yet this one had its entire surface completely converted. And it was definitely giving off some kind of magic. Going by the colour and aura that it was giving off her best guess was that it was holy magic.
" woah... thats unlike anything I have ever seen." Violet said, looking at the beacon.
She then suddenly became aware of the other person in the room.
"oh hi! Uhhhh Riley right?" Violet said " sorry for leaving that conservation so abruptly."
She swore she recognizes them from somewhere. Oh well that is for future Violet to figure out.
Gosh she has to figure out what is happening with this town.
( ooc I have no idea how this interaction is going to f up the timeline but im just going to go with it i guess)

The Scientist leaps out of Aster's arms as they walk into town, racing over to investigate the glowing cube of light. Aster follows her, looking anxious. They reach into their faded leather satchel to try and see if she can lure the cat back with another fish, but she doesn't have any left. There are people around the beacon. Aster doesn't know if she's ready to deal with people, but they'll have to sooner or later. Might as well be now.
She hopes they like cats.
“Oh— yeah, you’re Violet right?” Riley says before seeing The Scientist and getting distracted. They sit on the ground and slowly approach the cat until she lets them pet her.
(Ooc: if you want we can say this happens after kismet and rosalia leave to go pick a house and find somewhere for rosalia to sit down?)

Ok! The first Wip of the animatic is officially done. Now remember this is a work in progress and most notably a storyboard. The drawings are intentionally simple. The final product will be way more detailed and better this is just a concept storyboard.

What would everyone think of me making their characters in Tomodachi Life? Those with multiple pronouns might have problems, because unfortunately the game isn't quite at the point of letting you select more than one :/ (Though you can select pronouns separately from gender, which is a start!) I'll probably make Aster, if nothing else.
Seems like most people are interested!! :D
Three other things of note:
- my island already has characters on it, so it will be a crossover island (it already is one). This means Untrust characters might have interactions with VSMP characters and with characters from the webcomic Aurora, which could be funny. Could I make a different island? Yes. But then I'd have to restart my island progress on that one, and I have some cosmetics on my current island which would suit Untrust characters, so I'd like to be able to use them.
- there are no mobility aid options, so I wouldn't be able to give canes to the characters with them 😬 This is one of the few remaining unfortunate things about the game. One of the Aurora characters canonically uses crutches, and my inability to give them any pains me.
- there is a facepaint option, but my game has crashed nearly every time I've tried to use it, so I might not be able to add any. This means I might not be able to give Odette her vitiligo, or at least not well (I could improvise a little, but it would almost certainly be symmetrical rather than the proper patches :/) I can still try to use the facepaint, but it has only worked once in the history of my game (hence why v!Legs is currently walking around without a scar, which looks wrong), so it most likely wouldn't work. There's also no heterochromia option, so they wouldn't be able to have different eyes. Odette would unfortunately be hit quite hard by the game's limitations T.T
