Figured I'd make a proper intro post at long last! :)
Hi everyone! I'm Spellbound_Storyteller, but you can call me Story (or Storyspell, if you'd prefer). I write (both fanfiction and original writing, though I won't be sharing my orignal writing or characters on here, most likely) and draw, and regularly go insane about characters. I will randomly become obsessed with new things - this is your one warning :D I am also rather unhinged, both about media and in terms of things I will say, so be aware of that, I suppose!

More info under the cut, because this post is fairly long, haha! Credit for the below images goes to @/tazmaboxed.
I'm biromantic asexual (definitely repulsed/averse, almost certainly arospec) and genderqueer. My pronouns are currently she/they/any (they/them preferred over she/her, so technically they/she/any I suppose, but I like how she/they/any sounds better)! I'm pretty chill with whatever you call me. I am also diagnosed with autism and ADHD, so I may reblog posts pertaining to that on occasion.
Current Obsessions:
Vampires SMP
Aurora
The Magnus Archives (currently on the back burner, but still kicking)
Other media I like (in no particular order):
The Unwanteds
Wings of Fire
Whitepine
Skyblock Kingdoms
The Flight SMP
EPIC: The Musical
the Riordanverse
Hatchetfield
Good Omens (the book - I haven't finished the show yet)
the Simon Snow series (particularly Carry On)
Ace Attorney
The Owl House
Sleepless Domain
Life of Melody
I am an adult, but my blog is safe for work and/or school! Anyone younger than 13-14 may want to tread carefully, however, as I will occasionally reblog posts with swearing, (usually mild) innuendos, drawn blood, or mentions of mature topics. I do use trigger tags when appropriate, though, so blocking those should take care of the posts that might be problematic.
The Life Series
Tamgled: The Series
I tend to spam-like a lot, so mutuals beware. I love being tagged, though I might not always respond (sorry!), and my askbox is always open! Mutuals can also DM me for any reason. I also love to talk about characters, media, and my fics, so please feel free to yell at me about any of those!
Bigots of any kind will be blocked, as will people who just act rude for no good reason. I will also block you if you seem like a bot, so be warned!
BTW i see these posts all the time like "ohhh i dont know what to comment on fics.." and every response is "keysmashes! or hearts!! anything works :3" and thats GREAT!! thats helpful!!
but: consider. if u genuinely like analyzing writing.. do u know ur just allowed to go through and quote your favorite parts and ramble abt what they mean to u and the author will LOSE IT WITH HYPE?
genuinely. i felt SO WEIRD the first time i did it.. but like. holy shit authors love it. its crack for authors. the first time i did it, it was on a fic that hadnt updated in half a year, give or take, and the author made 3 updates that month BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT.
LIKE. as an author every comment is INCREDIBLE!!! but also, dont feel like your comment has to be short or otherwise ur invasive or smth!! authors ADORE long comments more than ANYTHING.
open tumblr, see something that pisses me off, write a snarky post, delete it, write a slightly more earnest post, edit it for 5 minutes, delete it, close tumblr
I always think of the description I saw years ago: Self-imposed deadlines don't help me, because I know the person who set them, and they're full of shit.
i love you archival work. i love you alphabetizing. i love you sorting. i love you reshelving. i love you document restoration. i love you shelf reading. i love you inventorying. i love you analysis. i love you archival work.

So today I tripped. Fell flat on my face, it was awful but ultimately harmless. My service dog, however, is trained to go get an adult if I have a seizure, and he assumed this was a seizure (were training him to do more to care for me, but we didn’t learn I had epilepsy until a year after we got him)
I went after him after I had dusten off my jeans and my ego, and I found him trying to get the attention of a very annoyed woman. She was swatting him away and telling him to go away. So I feel like I need to make this heads up
If a service dog without a person approaches you, it means the person is down and in need of help
Don’t get scared, don’t get annoyed, follow the dog! If it had been an emergency situation, I could have vomited and choked, I could have hit my head, I could have had so many things happen to me. We’re going to update his training so if the first person doesn’t cooperate, he moves on, but seriously guys. If what’s-his-face could understand that lassie wanted him to go to the well, you can figure out that a dog in a vest proclaiming it a service dog wants you to follow him
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but the doctor down the street who gives me my T shots
in a clinic so small that it's just two rooms
was excited for me when she said my voice had dropped
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but the receptionist who could see that I was a man
didn't bat an eyelash when I asked to see the gynecologist
and called me sir when he asked how I wanted to pay
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but the barber cuts my hair exactly how I want it
and never gave me strange looks for being in a men's salon
not even back when I didn't pass as one
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but my friends have always gendered me correctly
and stick to it even when it confuses other people
and my friend's little sibling calls me older brother in Kannada
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but my dog learned my new name quicker than the humans
and she runs to give me a kiss when she's told to
without being confused about who's being referred to
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but I can feel the Adam's apple growing in my throat
and my muscles getting stronger, and my smile more real
and I'm growing a beard, and I talk more freely
yes, India made legal gender change impossible
but I'm here, and I'm alive, and so are you
and there are good people, people who care
and don't let them make you forget that--
you are not alone.
i DO believe that a good writer can make mischaracterization work. oh there's a character who doesn't normally cry? figure it out!! disect the character. make the situation cryable for them. make that character cry ugly tears even if it goes against their very nature. YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!
