Ryland Grace and his popularity as a character feels like such an important step in repairing the cultural tsunami left by the long running trope of every genius character needing to be an insufferable asshole to everyone in a ten mile radios about it.

Conversely, Eva Stratt is doing wonders for repairing and inspiring a appreciation for commanding women with dubious moral convictions who are fully willing to bend laws for the greater good without hesitation.

There's a kid out there, maybe Teddy, maybe Harry, and they stumble upon this magazine in some store and think, "Dad looks so young in this." Maybe they'll show it to their kids or their partners, if they are lucky. Or maybe, they are lonely souls like you and I and they clutch it crying. Perhaps, old acquaintances will buy a copy and tell their loved ones, "You see this man with glasses? Was my friend once." Or maybe, "Quiet one, that Pettigrew, immensely talented." And the more closer ones would point at it and say, "Lupin and Black, you know..." Maybe they are all in retirement homes. Hospitals. Maybe a few members of the Black family or enemies in the Salazar house will look at it with distaste and mutter, "Bloody poofters." Somewhere in the stars, four souls who were everything to each other--brothers, best mates, family--wander and smile, better or for worse, they are remembered.

dude i don't normally like to dig at peoples fun i generally think people having fun is good but it is slightly disheartening when there's a really really good story about a strong platonic relationship and then the only thing the fans can do is ship the characters or worse make a crack ship with an unrelated character from another media because it's like they can't STAND a lack of romance in media like they absolutely must try to insert romance where it is absolutely not needed or relevant and honestly sours the story/media a lot more for me or they'll Die because they can't just be happy with a really good platonic relationship. it makes me very sad as a demiromantic girlie.

I kept forgetting my nighttime antidepressant so I set an alarm where the sound was a recording of me saying "HEY. TAKE YOUR FUCKING PILL" because I thought it would be funny. It was funny about three times, and then it started making me mad and I'd dismiss it right away to make it stop. So I handed my phone to my partner, who made another recording sweetly saying "Okay Shira, it's time to take your medication" and now I don't get mad anymore and I take my pill. The "compassion over punishment" camp has gotta get something wrong one of these days
